It was some bullshit involving their cloud saves getting way behind for some reason and then overwriting your local auto save in a game where I didn't really think Manual Saves were that important. I walked away from that game for almost 2 years after that happened. I go on the internet and basically saw a mob of people that had this happen to them saying "for the love of god turn off cloud saves if you are playing this game!" but it was too late for me. |

I would rather we just pick the best of the people coming and punish and deport people that end up being shit bags if they fail the trial run rather than building a wall. As long as the US treats people that are here illegally with kid gloves people will keep coming in large numbers and why shouldn't they? I don't demonize these people its a rational decision to come here and work and for decades we have basically said "its illegal to come here, but no ones checking IDs or anything once we get here and the pay is 10 times better". It is 2021. If the US really wanted to stop illegal immigration we could implement a national ID system and just do ID checks all over the place until everyone thats an illegal immigrant is deported. Everyone knows this. It would feel mean because it would be mean and you would see millions of people deported but it would cost less and be a lot more effective and less ridiculous than building a giant wall across the entire southern border if your actual goal was to deport people that are here illegally. Instead both parties for decades have played this game where they pretend to care about illegal immigration to placate the plebs as they just shrug and let the flow continue. |

The whole point is for you to think about the fact that Joel is basically massacring the scientists that for all we know are closest to finding a cure and possibly right on the verge of finding one. We know that Ellie would ultimately choose to make the sacrifice if she was given the choice but Joel makes it for her. Joel is fully aware that he is mortal, he has lived a life of immense hardship and suffering and has lived through the end of the world in constant battle killing and seeing friends die all around him, hell he has even had a daughter killed 'for the greater good' before. You can understand why he would make the choice he made even if he thought Ellie could basically be turned into a cure. He doesn't care about 'the world' as much as he cares about the person right beside him. Joel isn't religious, he isn't a humanist, he isn't a ethic philosopher. Why would he care about 'humanity' more than he cares about Ellie at that point? |

They just cast the demographics to look those in London and New York today and nobody mentions the concept of race or ethnicity. |

If you made the sport unisex that would be the same thing in practice as making those sports cease to exist for women after puberty. Imagine if there was some race of humans out there that was literally twice as strong and 6 inches taller than the average man. Their sports teams are full of 500 pound 7 and a half foot tall giants that are bigger, stronger, faster, and have far stronger bones than regular men. Would you want to compete against them? What if they took some pills to make them merely 400 pounds of muscle and 7.5 feet tall? |

Maybe its because I played DPS (Monk) but I would spend hours waiting for a party, not for a dungeon or anything special but just to get a bit of exp. I ended up treating it like a job at one point just grinding away doing boring shit just to polish up my stats in the hope that I may possibly get a party. If I did get a party the combat was boring as fuck. There was a cool ability you could use every 2 hours, there were some abilities that did practically nothing that you could use every 10 seconds, there was an ability that was cool you could use every 2 minutes. Which left you doing absolutely nothing most of the time. 10 minutes into playing the beta for WoW I realized I would never touch FFXI again. I gave away all my shit and gil in the game and cancelled my subscription that night. Literally. |

The people caught out living in the streets NEED to smoke meth every day, they NEED to shoot heroin every day. Lets not lie here. This isn't a housing crisis. This is a drug crisis. The people you see in a tent aren't there because Mc"donalds doesn't pay enough its because a heroin habit costs between $500 and $50,000 a month depending on how quick you want to kill yourself. |

The ones you see are drug addicts that would rather live in a tent 20 degrees below freezing than live in a shelter that doesn't allow them to openly shoot heroin. There is no amount of money you could give them that would take away their addiction or satisfy them and they don't want or need money or food or shelter they just need drugs. My Mom is a super religious Catholic and donates to and serves food at the the Denver rescue mission and would give out these certificates that would let people get extra food from the food bank in the area near where she worked and when she gave it to homeless people with a sign they would spit on her for giving them a voucher for food. Because they aren't hungry for food they are hungry for their drug of choice. I work with the assumption that the homeless I see begging for $ are all drug addicts with a black hole in their hearts minds and souls that will eat 1,000 just as quick as $100 and the more cash I give them the quicker they will kill themselves. |

They basically stopped allowing their benefactors from losing money by making all trades on their brokerages one directional. You can only sell you can't buy which means that the stock will lose value considering how much of the market for this stock they owned. It was legal when they did it but it shouldn't have been. We need to make laws to prevent what they did from being legal. |

In the US the vast majority of well educated people as part of that education are taught that people of every race should be treated with respect and that you shouldn't make assumptions about someone based on the color of your skin. The one thing to realize is that that's a form of cultural education, not scientific education. |
