But the TC really seems to have fallen out of love with the 'true' ac games. They had some good and some bad. The whole follow mission thing with you just following an enemy waiting for the action to start was a core part of the old AC formula but it was also fairly boring. I'll also agree that even though it looked cool the whole counter counter counter insta kills abound gameplay of the past few Assassin's Creed games is less fun to me than the new combat in the ones since Origins.

This is nonsense. If you set up a system where I need a higher GPA or SAT score or work experience to have the same chance of getting admitted/hired then my chances of getting hired or admitted go down.

In places where white people make up the vast majority of the population they often make a conscious choice saying "i'm going to hurt my people's prospects a little bit to help you out a lot" but if you look at a place like California and compared admissions rates with race neutral admissions to their top tier colleges like Cal Tech or Berkeley for Asian kid's admission rates with equal qualifications at schools that do consider race you are basically telling them "white people were mean to these people back in the day so half of you don't get to go to Berkeley because there are way too many Asian faces on campus. If you don't like this change your racist".

This is why the whole argument for affirmative action gets a lot more complicated as the US becomes less white. Its the difference between it being a gift and something thats vindictively taken as some form of revenge.

Even when I was still in family gatherings, I didn't really enjoy these things. I don't really like to overeat either and I don't like leftovers.

I feel like this has been me the past 5+ Thanksgivings. When I was a kid I would eat until I was about to explode but since I started trying to actually not eat 5 meals in one sitting most of the appeal of the Thanksgiving dinner has gone away.

I still like most of the dishes and love some of them (scalloped potatoes is like Mac and Cheese for rich people pretending to be poor people and mac and cheese is a amazing.)

Turkey with gravy, stuffing with gravy, raspberry sauce, sweat potatoes with marshmellows, scalloped potatoes, pumpkin pie.

I don't have enough extra money to get rich quick but I'm doing the smart stuff like getting the full company match on my 401k (adds up to 14% of my salary of 92k), refinancing my mortgage to a lower rate and of course paying my medical insurance (and my fiancee's) so we dont have a catastrophe hit that we are covered for.

That all being said I dont see myself getting rich anytime soon just continuing to live comfortably.

It's kinda weird people think we do that currently. I mean, being hired for a job generally just means you meet some bar of requirement, which many many others do as well. Once you meet that bar, hiring can and is kinda based on arbitrary things at times.

This is an issue I've actually seen.

If the company hires women fresh out of college to be software engineers when they have a degree in mechanical engineering and have never coded and only hires men with Computer Science degrees then it can lead to some of the same stereotypes that cause prejudice.

You begin to expect a minimum level of competence from someone from certain groups of people and not from others. "Didn't you learn this in school?" Nope.

The US already spends enough per person on medicare, VA health care, etc. from public spending to fully fund a health care system for every person in this country in terms of a per capita rate of health care expenditures compared to Canada, the UK, Australia, etc.

What we are talking about isn't tax increase, its a culling. Its a culling of all the leeches that are bleeding 300k a year salaries because. "Because". Its a culling of administrators. Its a culling of advertisers for drugs and medical care. Its a culling of salesmen for healthcare. We already are spending the money on government provided healthcare but we just need to cut the fat. We could slash our national healthcare spending by a third, switch to a single payer system and still have the best funded healthcare system on the planet per person or in total spending by a thousand miles.

I hate our current health care system and I do mean hate. I've felt rage. I've felt like burning shit down.

We don't have HBO Max in Australia. But we are handling the pandemic okay and it seems to be set for 26/12/20 here so I'm guessing it'll be cinema only release over here for a few months. Cinemas have been stuck with direct to DVD Liam Neeson movies lately.

I wonder how other regions will handle it.

Lets get real. Australia is a basically what we imagine a space colony would be. You guys have a handful ports of entry from the outside world and even your major cities are a massive travel distance from each other with one of the lowest population densities on the planet.

A map vs a list is the difference between just having stuff sorted by some kind of key vs sorted randomly.

Like imagine a system where you have to scroll through every contact in your contact list to get their phone number vs being able to say "call James Thomas Stewart".

If you have just 10 contacts you don't really care but if you have 10,000,000 contacts in a phone book you are going to want to have that shit mapped out using some kind of key.

I've been working as a Software Engineer for four years after college and I don't think I've ever needed Math aside from just understanding the complexity of algorithms.

One issue is that taking the time to figure out who really needed the extra boost would have taken time and money that would practically negate the benefits of doing that extra step.

For one, we aren't the only nuclear capable country. Two, an intervention doesn't automatically mean a country just invades and goes to war with us. Trump refusing to step down wouldn't mean he just runs the government as a dictator, it would likely mean a fracture of our government, country, and potentially armed forces as a whole. Theres a reason that exactly zero outside nations sent in troops to tilt the scales one way or the other when the Soviet Union fell apart.

The US is a military superpower with vast numbers of nukes and vast amounts of munitions not to mention we have hundreds of millions of civilian owned guns.

1/10th of the US navy could destroy all of Europe's navies combined if they tried to sail across the ocean towards us.
