Atralis 11/06/20 3:38:16 PM #77 | You will be pleasantly surprised by the soulful shucking and jiving of the first openly black protagonist in a Spiderman game as he swings from building to building as if he is swinging from vine to vine in a dense jungle in the heart of africa. |

Topic | College classes really bug me, maybe more than they should |
Atralis 11/05/20 4:43:49 PM #4 | I felt similar. In high school I never did my homework turned in most projects late for partial credit and relied entirely on the tests to pass the course so they were these huge pressure things where anything less than an A would mean an F in the course. I went in the Army after high school and when I got out in college I did all my homework and all the projects on time and studied my ass off for tests and ended up with a 3.9 GPA even though I felt like I was a much weaker programmer than a lot of other comp sci students. I felt a bit embarrassed at graduation when they announced the latin honors stuff because I felt like other people knew that they were better at coding than me but saw me with this super high gpa. |

Atralis 11/01/20 10:12:48 PM #2 | Its the worst platform for the game unless the switch gimmick is a selling point for you. It is a cool gimmick but if you are mostly playing it sitting down on a couch with a TV then you shouldn't get it for the Switch. |

Topic | Imagine still playing WoW in 2020. |
Atralis 11/01/20 6:46:06 PM #11 | I actually got back into it a bit when BFA launched after not playing it since Wrath of Lich King. I played through all the single player story stuff 5 man dungeons and a few raids from Legion and BFA and I enjoyed them. A few takaways .... 1. The Story Content and questing in the newer expansion is dramatically better than it was when I stopped playing but that content was also all still in the game and up until Shadowlands pre patch (which is out) you had to level through some of the older zones to get to the good stuff. As of about a month ago they patched it so you can pick a single expansion zone and level through all of it and see all the story content and all of the zones to get to end game levels which I think is very wise because the leveling experience for new players felt very jumbled before as you walked through mostly empty zones of legacy content where you would level so fast that you saw about 1/5th of each expansion before zipping on to the next continent and got no coherent narrative. 2.I still don't really enjoy high end raiding which is why I dipped out of the game in the first place but they seem to pack a lot more in for the solo players like world quests and daily stuff. 3.Demon Hunter is a ton of fun- I basically started by leveling my old Orc Warrior up to legion then I switched to a Night Elf Demon Hunter and its my favorite class in the game. Its simple, its basically got a triple jump/gliding with no cooldown that you just activate by slapping the jump button a few times, anything you kill refills your hp so you never have to rest in open world play, it has a relatively limited number of abilities and cooldowns to manage. Its just perfect for a casual player that loves running around the world or pvping in battlegrounds and it honestly is what kept me playing the game. |

Atralis 10/30/20 11:38:00 PM #1 | I'm nerdy and I had always been nervous around the ladies. I crawled out of my shell for a relationship when I was 23 then crawled back into my shell when it ended badly a few months later. When I was 31 I got on match.com and eventually found a woman that shares my interests and we've been together for almost 2 years now and been living together for about a year and a half. Do not give up my dudes. Hit the gym, be as social as you can and eventually you will find a person to share your life with. |

The Denver area is blue (Boulder is SUPER blue) the Colorado Springs area is red. |

Atralis 10/28/20 1:58:24 PM #25 | metralo posted... because he's not specifying the age group you fucking dump And if he was on an AARP message board I'd agree that covid is a bigger threat. It's totally plausible that more Twitter users will kill themselves in 2020 than die of covid and we should keep that in mind. His numbers are off but it's still a valid message to the audience he was speaking to. |
Topic | Tom Brady believes more people die from suicide than from Covid (False) |
Atralis 10/28/20 1:51:24 PM #18 | Conflict posted... That's not relevant to the claim being made How is that not relevant? More than 14,000 people under the age of 35 died of suicide last year. Covid has killed less than 2,000 in that age cohort. You should be more worried about the mental health of your friends in that age group than whether or not they will die of covid especially if suicide rates are rising as a result of covid. If the rate goes up by 20% that will be more of an increase than all the deaths from covid for that age cohort. |
Topic | Tom Brady believes more people die from suicide than from Covid (False) |
Atralis 10/28/20 1:43:31 PM #15 | He may be wrong about the numbers but does anyone argue that the average Twitter user or for that matter gamefaqs user is more likely to die of covid than suicide? Covid is terrible but suicide is a far bigger killer for people under the age of 50. |

Atralis 10/26/20 11:09:08 PM #45 | Esrac posted... Shit. I dont even wear my uniform off base, if I can help it. Partly because it is pretty awkward when someone you don't know "thanks you for your service." Some of my most awkward moments were when I was far from a base wearing a uniform. Funeral Detail doing ceremonies for old retired dudes in a large radius around Augusta Georgia extending into southern South Carolina. "Hometown recruiting' after AIT. I recruited no one. I stood around awkwardly in a uniform feeling completely out of place. R&R at multiple airports- It was worst on the way back from R&R. When you have spent a few days doing flights from Afghanistan to Kuwait to wherever to Dallas you are going to just stop giving a fuck by the time you arrive. When you are strolling into Denver International Airport in your ACUs after spending a couple weeks back home with all these people 'thanking you for your service' you feel weird as fuck. |

Atralis 10/25/20 4:56:57 PM #32 | Naysaspace posted... amazon does not give a damn about you or your family It isn't sociopathic to expect productivity out of people you are hiring, particularly if you are going to be paying them six figures. There is also a difference between showing compassion and understanding to your employees and hiring someone that is already a problem child. They aren't adopting a kid they are hiring an employee. |
Topic | Got interrupted during an Amazon coding interview. Is it possible to get a redo? |
Atralis 10/25/20 4:31:26 PM #26 | Don't get your hopes up. Companies like Amazon have a pretty high number of applicants and they likely already have a batch that completed the coding interview that they are sorting through. I'm guessing they will just say "better luck next time". Think about it from their perspective. They are hiring the best of the best in terms of software developers and you are saying "I had stuff come up so I couldn't complete the test you gave me". |
Topic | FYI - We don't make extra for saying people died of COVID19 |
Atralis 10/25/20 3:17:03 PM #163 | Perascamin posted... India is 3x smaller than the US and has over 3x our population yet we still have more coronavirus cases/deaths than them. This isn't a fair comparison. India has a far younger population on average, and more limited medical care in general and therefore less of an ability to track who is dying of covid particularly in the more rural areas. |
Topic | You will be warned for posting that you think schools should be opened |
Atralis 10/25/20 1:09:07 AM #24 | ButteryMales posted... https://www.npr.org/2020/10/21/925794511/were-the-risks-of-reopening-schools-exaggerated I agree we should have a debate over this. If discussion on this topic were allowed and not a bannable offense I would argue that there are over 50,000,000 k-12 students in the US and 14 deaths teaching 50 million students makes it tough to make a strong connection between opening schools and covid deaths. |
Topic | You will be warned for posting that you think schools should be opened |
Atralis 10/25/20 1:04:15 AM #22 | Laserion posted... stating that keeping schools closed is irrationalis not the same as posting that you think schools should be opened So your take is that someone is allowed to read the most reputable news sources on the planet showing data showing that covid is not spreading significantly in k-12 schools after they are opened and then post "its irrational to keep schools closed" But someone can not read any new sources and not be informed at all and just say "I like schools. They should open. Hooray." Because the problem with my post is that I suggested I was putting forward a rational response to covid given the data that we have. You aren't allowed to do that. Its offensive. Offensive enough to be warned. |

Atralis 10/25/20 12:55:37 AM #18 | Captain_Qwark posted... It says many of them are hybrid I support all of these things. I wear a mask everywhere I go and I have hand sanitizer sitting at my desk at work that I splash on my hands every time I have to go somewhere else in the building. That being said I believe that at 100% at home schooling doesn't work for a lot of kids. We have data saying that bringing these kids in, with measures being taken like you described, does no lead to outbreaks. I'm not going to say I think we should put kids into in person classes because that is a warning offense but I think we should look at the data and make a rational decision that chooses the lesser of two evils. |

Atralis 10/25/20 12:50:42 AM #16 | Delirious_Beard posted... TC should be warned I suspect I will be. You aren't allowed to have thoughts that oppose any restriction being implemented to fight the covid. Even if it is massively destructive and the most reputable journalists and scientists in the country tell you those restrictions do nothing to fight the virus. You can only think one way. |

And a third study from the United States shows no elevated risk to childcare workers who stayed on the job. Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/feared-covid-outbreaks-in-schools-yet-to-arrive-early-data-shows/2020/09/23/0509bb84-fd22-11ea-b555-4d71a9254f4b_story.html NBC https://www.nbcboston.com/news/coronavirus/202-more-students-staff-at-mass-schools-test-positive-for-coronavirus/2216674/ Local public health experts say the data seems pretty clear -- after several weeks of in-person or hybrid learning, COVID-19 is not spreading in Massachusetts schools as some had feared. What were seeing in schools is that there are occasional cases that occur, but what were not necessarily seeing are cases where kids are acquiring the infection in school, said Dr. Paul Sax, who studies COVID-19 closely as the clinical director of the Infectious Diseases Division at Brigham and Womens Hospital. Topic | The Flag Will Cover Coffins |
Atralis 10/16/20 7:43:49 PM #3 | I was on a funeral detail for a few months in the Army (45 funerals in about 2.5 months). Only one was a KIA the rest were veterans. It was weird how normal it became to do them. We had a three man group where we would just show up, put a flag on the casket, then hand it to the family for veterans and we had the full detail show up to carry the casket to the grave site and do the 21 gun salute (7 guys three shots with blanks out of m16's). The first few funerals I felt some emotion about it but by about number 20 it just felt like a thing we did. Obviously we took the job seriously but it was more about not fucking up than any kind of emotion you would normally associate with a dead person. |
