This hit personally for me. My Dad is a tall guy (6'5") like Bob Saget and he has hit his head on stuff many times in my life and just shrugged it off as a hazard of being that tall. Most recently my parents went on vacation to hawaii and he blasted his head the corner of the little beach cabin they were staying in and was bleeding everywhere and my Mom had to drag him to the doctor.

Where did you live? Out in suburbia in the land of yards with high fences pets are everywhere. In the city not so much.

My grandfather was born on a poor farm in New Jersey in 1919 a few months after his own father died of the Spanish flu pandemic. He was kicked out of the house by his stepfather in the 30s when he was 15 because the farm was failing and his step Dad's attitude was "you're a man now and I've got my own kids, your siblings to take care of. Time to take care of yourself."

He ended up in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) which was a program made by FDR where they would take poor boys and have them do manual labor around the country doing construction work. The vast majority of his wages were sent to his parents (who had kicked him out of the house) because that was part of the program that was meant to keep these guys honest. Wouldn't want them to waste the cash on frivolous things after all. He left the CCC directly for the Army and he was sent to North Africa, Sicily, France, and Germany to fight the Nazis.

So no. I don't think I have a harder time than my grandfather.

I agree. As much shit as people give 343 over Halo I liked every game they made that I played (missed 5 because I didn't own an Xbone. Loved infinite on pc most recently.

Why would people be worried about overpopulation in the US? The US native born population is barely at replacement rates and even Latin America's have fallen to at or near that level. No they wouldn't. This is part of the problem. Russia isn't Iraq. If the UK and France send their air forces to bomb the Russian military in Ukraine they are going to get shot down. Russia has a massive amount of anti-air equipment. They have a large and relatively modern air force. They have a massive amount of armor compared the rest of Europe.

Sanctions along with reinforcing the NATO members closest to Russia.

I'll save you time. He missed a comma (1 million not 1 billion) an it was users online in the past 24 hrs not concurrent. In 2008 there may not have been a billion people on the internet in general in the world let alone on Halo. South America is dark because the vast majority of people back then had no internet connection at all back in 2008 let alone a console and a high speed connection for the last first person shooter.

I don't feel much if anything right now. I got it at 10 and went to work (software engineer) till about 5:30 and at some points during the day I felt like it was a bit harder to think or a slight headache but since coming home and sitting down to chill I've felt fine.

So far its less of a reaction than I had to the first two shots back in April of 2021.

I saw this on Disney Plus without ever really noticing that it was in theaters and it was great. Its weird how good it was considering how little hype it had in theaters. I hope a lot of people watch it on Disney Plus and beyond.

You're telling me to find that I need to go to Windows/AppData/Users/blah blah?

The AppData thing is for a couple reasons.

1. Permissions- Unless you are an administrator you can't look into someone else user folder in AppData.
2. Hide it from noobs- The AppData folder is hidden by default because its generally stuff a non technical user wouldn't/shouldn't be mucking with. They don't want to have a user accidently delete their save games while they are deleting some old files and folders from their Documents folder.

Whenever I hear people say this its usually because they have zero imagination in regards to what toppings to put on their burger. Like they literally get a cheeseburger well done that consists of cheese and burger and no other toppings and then say "wow this is pretty bland".

People look at this list of toppings and just think. "You know what I think I'll just have a nothing burger then complain about it".

Seriously this. My lady was stressed which probably caused the period to be light or skip which led to her being even more stressed that she may not ever be able to have kids because it shows she isn't pregnant and she also didn't have a period (she is 32 so..... doubtful) but she was just freaking out like crazy then she got her next period like normal a couple weeks after.

I had this same experience recently. She was stressing out like crazy over work and hosting both our families for thanksgiving and planning for our wedding and she missed a period.

It was just stress.

This is another aspect to consider. I've seen some people talking about a dollar amount on their paycheck and then you find out they are uninsured and have no retirement savings whatsoever.

Depends heavily on what you mean by "support a family" and where you live. Where I live in the Denver metro area you could raise a family but you wouldn't be able to have the American dream of the single family home you own in a decent neighborhood.

The basic problem with rent control is that its attacking the problem from the wrong direction. The rent goes up when the demand for places to rent exceeds the supply. If you cap the rent then people that have an apartment will be happy for a while but the actual problem of there not being enough housing will get steadily worse because private investors will stop building apartment complexes.

Which leads you to ask "well why can't we just have the government build apartment complexes?" which leads us back to the disaster of urban housing projects that were built in the decades after WW2 and mostly torn down within a generation of being built because they turned into hell holes.

The campaign is fine but honestly the parts of it that try to be some sort of Destiny clone just don't work. I'm not sure Destiny works to be honest. People acting like its the worst game ever are overdoing it. There is a lot of great game in there but they added a lot repetitive and pointless optional junk around it that makes the vocal completionists rage.

Default male shep is the one true shep. I loved playing Vanguard in 2 and 3. Feels like being a biotic superman.

I feel like a lot of those games don't actually hold up well today. Last time I played Half Life 2 it felt like an old tech demo

The campaign was never bad though it was clear that they failed to deliver on a lot of the in engine cut scene changes they had gotten people excited about in the early trailers. Even without the cutscene updates the graphics in the campaign are vastly better than they were in 2002.

I live right next to a shopping center on the edge of the Denver metro area. I'm a 5 minute drive from basically anything I would want to access in terms of retail or food and I'm actually walking distance to a lot of stuff (10-20 minutes) like bars or the movie theater. I like it a lot.

I feel like there is a natural tendency towards this. Why would anyone want to replay the same moment endlessly rather than just learning to take a turn correctly.

This is a little shallow. It's not a racing sim, no, but if you expect to fly into a turn then jam on the brakes and drift through it Burnout-style then you're going to be in for a rough time. You do need to grasp things like corner apexes and braking points. Turn on the racing line to get a grasp on racing technique if you've never really tried a more realistic racer.

Way too many people in online races think that they can corner from any speed and it actually ends up ruining races with how frequently you find people flying into you as you try to properly corner.

The time reverse mechanic in the non competitive modes helps a ton with this though. You can redo a specific turn rather than flailing hopelessly and rage quitting out.

For people that haven't played it you can reverse time to redo a portion when you fail hard in the race. The mechanic itself helps a lot in improving your skill because you get to replay troublesome moments multiple times.

Just try it on gamepass.

I had forgotten about this. Andy Dick was on NewsRadio along with Jon Lovitz and Phil Hartmann. Andy Dick reintroduced cocaine to Hartman's wife who had been sober for 10 years and she later killed Phil before killing herself.
