Automation has been taking away manual labor jobs for over a century, only now is it doing something that effects art jobs more. Some people who smugly said "learn to code" a few years ago are quickly changing their tune now that automation is effecting them. Saying a voice can be owned is a nebulous concept, people have been imitating people forever. Hell, a lot of times voice actors are replaced with someone who sounds similar.

The biggest issue is our terrible economic system that is not prepared for the potential of a lot of people losing their jobs. We really will need to implement something along the lines of basic income.

It's important to evaluate leadership in times of conflict. I hate to say "I give him a pass" but I'd say that Ukraine is facing extraordinary circumstances from an existential military threat and so we should keep an eye on the situation to ensure this posture doesn't carry over into post war Ukraine, whatever that may look like.

the 2 problems in this instance, as I see them:

1. the article is really just clickbait
2. basically any sort of state leader is going to be "authoritarian" to some extent; the fact that they have authority is significantly less important than what they do with their authority

there is no elaboration on what that means, or what specifically he is actually doing.

the article reminds me of those clickbait articles on AV Club (obviously other outlets do it too, but AV Club was the first that came to mind): one out-of-context quotation; several paragraphs of information that is either made up, simplistic, or irrelevant; no useful information at all.

They'll move the needle, but any artillery munition would for Ukraine. One of the biggest things that's holding back Ukraine's warmaking capabilities is a signficant disadvantage in artillery munitions relative to Russia.

Besides that, the risk is Ukraine's to take. We're not dropping bombs into the Vietnamese villagers, the Ukrainians are attacking Russian positions near Ukrainian civilians. This is a burden that Ukraine is willing to bear, and just a little spoiler alert for you--It is a nearly insignificant burden compared to everything else being asked of Ukrainian citizens. That means Ukrainian civilians are going to die, and sometimes from Ukrainian weapon systems even. Before the situation became entrenched and attritional. Before civilian deaths mounted. Virtually everything about modern civilization is wholly reliant and built upon fossil fuels in one form or another, at every step of the way. Every solution that enables Business As Usual further hastens the mass extinction we are currently experiencing.

this is the correct take. it's fundamentally impossible to address these problems while capitalism is still the dominant global system

there are several important characters with quirks that drastically alter their body. it's also suggested that people are inclined on a biological level to use their quirk, and the society outlaws -- or at least heavily stigmatizes -- quirk usage outside of certain professions. Toga, as well as Gentle Criminal and La Brava, are probably the best examples of the negative repercussions of this

I think for certain jobs (this job in particular is a service job) it can work better than paid leave. it's far from the top priority, but it might get brought up in an upcoming meeting

lamb is definitely different from beef. lamb tends to be more oily. I tend to like it most in things like curry, chili, soup, where the oiliness is distinctly an advantage.

it can be great in other contexts too; just don't go in expecting it to be beef

the pandemic has very much not ended. but yes, racism against asian people has definitely increased since it started
