I don't plan on having kids, but I wouldn't let something like that be the reason why.

like, we all most likely have monsters in our ancestry - slavers, rapists, fascists, Genghis Khan (!), but we don't let that dictate the kind of people we are.

1) It would not change anything, would it? People are evil, not DNA or genes or whatever.

2) His generation was only 80~100 years ago. I know my ancestor of that era, and I'm pretty sure that none of my grand-grandmother's cheated with Hitler.

I have a philosophical qualm with point 1, and point 2 is inaccurate, but aside from that this is basically what I think.

elaborating on 2 specifically: hitler was born in 1889, so "his generation" would have been more like 130-ish years ago.

but I'm still more or less in the same situation: I don't have significant ancestry from that specific area of europe

Oops, my bad.

I was too focused on my ancestors who could become his offspring, and they were all born after 1941 (my grandparent generation).

But one of my grand-grandmothers could also fit, born in 1913.

But the region is not my issue. I am Austrian, so it's technically much more likely for me to be true than most of you.

It's just that I have my family tree at hand and can look it up.
