I watched the pilot, the paintball early registration episodes, and half the chicken episode (was on an airplane). There's something I like about the show but I really can't stand the main character. He seems too like, what a nerd/writer wishes he was, like smart, hot, confident, always has a plan, and tension with the hot girl. There's just something about the wit and snippiness that feels a little pretentious I only like the other characters --- 1 Like 0 Comments ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think it does. And I think the show definitely doesn't portray Jeff in a necessarily positive light. --- Stop being so aggressively argumentative for no reason. - UnfairRepresent ... Copied to Clipboard!

Most comedies take a while for the characters to come into their own and develop chemistry with each other. I think it was around the Halloween episode that I really got into it. --- I am the Cheese! It's a great show. It's a shame it didn't capture you so far but it's really enjoyable to watch. Funny you bring that up about Jeff, sounds a little like projecting. I won't lie; the first time I watched community, all those years ago... it didn't win me over immediately. I was weirded out by chang's perfomance in the very second episode and not in a good way. But quickly started liking it a few episodes in, and outright loved it halfway through the first season. All of the season is great, but the episode starting with the chicken fingers all the way to the season finale is just hit episode after hit. --- http://i.imgur.com/0UFI0T9.jpg ... seasons 1-3 are top tier television. the paintball episode, while awesome, isn't exactly a prime example of what you should expect in a typical Community episode. the chicken one is a better example for sure. give a few other episodes a try and if it doesn't grab you, it won't later. --- St. Louis Battlehawks (7-3) ... Dan Harmon admitted that he initially based Jeff on some of his own personal experiences, so you're not too far off the mark here. To me, Joel McHale's particular brand of acerbic humor only really works in Community, because he's usually the character who has to recognize his own faults and grow as a person by the end of the episode. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read https://imgur.com/1WshTZu - by DB_Insider https://imgur.com/eW67nT8 - by Wii_Shaker ...
