And the only weakness Nen really has is another Nen user who's stronger and/or more skilled, and there aren't any of those IRL.

Most people are born with certain type of nen and it is within their best interests to develop their natural aptitude to its finest. It's been shown time and time again that people who did tried to master other type of nen with the least aptitude suffered catastrophic end with someone who use their natural type of nen efficiently. With the exception of Mary sue kurapika who gain the ability to use all type nen with 100% efficiency. No other nen user ever come close to that.

Out of those 4, Devil Fruits and Quirks are a write off. Both have huge downsides (Devil Fruits - Not being able to swim, Quirks usually have a sickly downside). I'd probably go for a stand. So long as I don't get Cheap Trick everything is fine.

Granted. Your stand power is to swap one word in your stand power with a word in the stand power of another person visible to you.

It's actually perfect for Kira though. It erases the bodies to the point where there's nothing left, his bomb can be remotely detonated from a safe distance away and it's seemingly quiet enough to where the average person can't hear it. He can also use shit like air bubbles as a bomb so he can be as discreet as he really wants to be.

That's without considering stuff like Sheer Heart Attack, where Kira doesn't even need to be in the area to use it.

It's completely silent and invisible to non-stand users. He essentially vaporizes people without anyone noticing.

Also, come to think of it...I think it might be silent to stand users as well. Okuyasu and Josuke didn't notice someone being completely obliterated with just a thin classroom door between them and the victim.

Kira is perfect though? His explosions are silent. He wants to live a quiet life and Killer Queen lets him erase anything that gets in the way.

Hell Idk why children are even trained and enlisted when theres no shortage of adults able to.

It's a cool concept that just kind of crumbles the more you think about it.

These are all mostly the same thing of giving you an excuse to have whatever special power the author comes up with. But with a stand you can have a stylish second body that punches at the speed of sound in addition to your cool ability

Most stands don't even have fists to punch with. Only stardust crusaders mostly focused on punching things. Later stands got weird.

Not quite. Josephs was a non-combat type stand. TBH he shouldn't have had a stand in the first place. He was such a better character when he was a trickster in part 2.

Not being a combat isn't a requirement. Like, Silver Chariot never punches but it is certainly a combat one (and this can stretch to basically every protag in the part).

the story is set in japan so that's the vast majority of "society" that we see. it's certainly suggested, though, that other nations run things differently. there's also a gigantic amount of critique of the way that society is run

The only one of those shows I haven't watched at least the majority of is One Piece, so I don't know how expansive the devil fruit gets in terms of powers, however Stands get really silly and bullshitty in an OP way, so probably that one if I got one of the cooler ones.

Nobody seems to take into account that governments would actively hunt you down and experiment on you if you had visible superpowers like a quirk or a devil fruit.

Nen or Stand are the only real answers since they are invisible and imperceptible to non-users.

Unless you have a long range stand though there's a good chance you'll get caught eventually anyway as video evidence would show you always being nearby some bullshit

Good luck catching you if you have a logia type fruit.

Nen would typically be the best choice but if you get to choose your power? There's a handful of Devil Fruits that would be worth choosing.

Because a lot of quirks aren't useful for battling villains. I imagine for a majority of the population who lead regular lives their quirks could just be "you look like an elephant and can blow your trunk like an elephant" levels of useless.

It's also a very serious and lethal occupation, given that the heroes don't always win and they don't always walk away.

Stick with nen.

Yeah I think Nen then Stand/Devil fruit as second place.

Nen an even if you get a set type there are interesting things you can do with all the types, and still learn things from just around your type. Also easier to keep secret.

Stands you you could end up with a useless or dangerous to yourself one, but still good odds of an interesting invisible to others power.

Devil fruit if you could pick the fruit would be amazing, but even left to random chance you still have good odds at something useful unless you roll human fruit.

Quirks just suck. Sure you could hit the jackpot and have a great power, or you could end up with horns on your face, or inflating your head or just your eyeballs, or just looking an animal person, or who knows what. There is just too much room for crap, or a life of looking like something weird.

Wouldn't a human eating the Hito Hito no Mi basically turn into the ultimate example of humanity? I'm pretty sure Oda said something like that in an SBS. Sure, you'd still be constrained by human limits, so there are far better fruits to get. But you'd basically be Captain America.

Also with stands, you can just have your stand assault someone and they wont know what happened because only stand users can see stands.

Presumably you couldn't have a stand that someone already possesses, as I do not believe there are duplicates.
