The lack of staffing also comes down to more pay - for others if not themselves - and it's pretty clear the non-profit can't afford to increase payroll. Any way you slice it the union's demand was for more money than the employer could afford to pay.

I think seeing him more as a Jedi hero during the clone wars would have had more of an impact.

in terms of what's "enjoyable" for a hypothetical audience to watch, sure. not thematically though. war heroes are anything but innocent.

Knowing that Anakin was taken away from his Mom as a kid doesn't need a whole movie. That could be explained in dialogue or a flashback. Like every other movie that deals with characters who have falls from graces.

sure. that's an entirely different conversation though

I'm talking thematically. episodes 1-3 are about Anakin's fall; episodes 4-6 are about his redemption. the fall is significantly less dramatic without showing him at his most innocent

I overall agree.

I've always thought that it's a mistake to have wasted an entire movie on Anakin's childhood. It just doesn't add enough to justify it.

Art Blakey Quintet featuring Clifford Brown - A Night at Birdland, Volume 1
Notable for many things; among them being that it is one of the earliest recorded concerts, as well as one of the first recordings that can definitively be called "Hard Bop". the playing is excellent all around. I particularly like the version of "Split Kick" (a contrafact of "There Will Never Be Another You") and "Wee Dot" (a blues).

Sinatra at the Sands
the single best recording of Frank Sinatra, bar none. recorded with the Count Basie Orchestra, many of his best-known recordings are from this album. it's also notably referenced in one shot in Blazing Saddles. there's another album recorded by the Basie Band called Live at the Sands (Before Frank)
which is also great.

V.S.O.P - The Quintet
Miles Davis' second quintet, but with Freddie Hubbard on trumpet instead of Miles Davis. it was essentially a live band. only recorded one studio album, but like 4 live albums. all of it is great. some excellent post-bop stuff.

Wynton Marsalis - Live at the Village Vanguard
this one is a doozy. the amount of music on here is staggering. it was recorded during Wynton Marsalis' septet's stint at the Village Vanguard in the early 90s. there are 7 discs, each featuring recordings from a different day of the week. amazing continuity despite frequently being completely different bands from track to track. mix of standards and originals.

Hiromi and Edmar Castaneda - Live in Montreal
This one was recorded at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2017. I bring this up because I was there. Castaneda spent several minutes tuning his harp in between each tune, specifically because they were recording. Two virtuoso instrumentalists interacting at a very high level. my memory is a little fuzzy, but I recall a standing ovation about halfway through the set, then two more at the end, each followed by an encore. it was one of the best concerts I've ever attended

that populace is able to thrive because the nation has outsourced its underclass, to some extent, to another nation

There's always going to be corruption in every system. However, corrupt communism is much worse than corrupt capitalism. Corrupt communism is places like North Korea or Russia. Corrupt capitalism is USA. Which do you prefer?

it's arguable on the domestic level.

it is not arguable on the international level: the US' international presence is way, way worse than either of them

you mean the ideology? because many nations based on the ideology have functioned well and had a thriving populace.

but part of full communism is that it's global, which... I don't think is super compatible with the existence of nations in the first place
