The Will Smith movie Ali is what made me start learning about the eponymous boxer.

Yeah, I remember when I first saw that movie it was like it wasnt even about boxing, but more about how Ali was so larger than life. His charisma, talent and perspective couldnt be contained.

They definitely took some significant liberties with it. But who cares really... still good.

I still dont know the accurate history of it all, so it would be a mistake to rely on it completely. I like to think of it as a great movie that maybe motivates people to learn more about that kind of racing or the history of the race teams and companies involved.

If any Republican was directly involved in what the CCP is saying, Democrats would be tripping over themselves to bash them publicly. The reverse is also true, as in the Repubs bashing Dems if Dems were involved.

I dont trust much, but I do trust the USAs two-party mutual animosity far more than I trust that the CCP would ever acknowledge any wrongdoing on their part, like ever.

Its Capitalism. Other races are able to focus on a multitude of things due to better funding by the city based on property taxes. Whereas black people usually only have sports.

Go to the Philippines and youll see they love basketball and so many are willing to play it morning to night under far less than ideal conditions. Its quite impressive and humbling to see an intense game between young adults wearing flip flops and shooting at a wire rim erected on wooden pole on a sidewalk, all while traffic is zooming by a few feet away. Of course there are more standard courts and they even have their own pro league. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there have only been three Filipinos whove made it to the NBA, and they were of mixed heritage and went to school in the US.

Keep in mind the Philippines has nearly 110 million people.

it's a skill-based sport. height isn't everything. Steve Nash was like 6'3 and really quick with a high basketball IQ. then there are people under 6 ft like Nate Robinson and Isaiah Thomas. skill takes higher priority than height. the NBA learned this a long time ago.

True, basketball does rely heavily on skill and height isnt everything. Height is still massively important, though. No team will ever recruit a 6 foot athlete to play at center, no matter how strong, fast, or skilled they are at basketball fundamentals. All things being equal, height does also tend to affect reach, hand size and weight as well. Like the old saying goes, you cant teach height.

I dont think its a minor issue that, as good they were, there really have only been a handful of short pro players in the modern era.

Ive never liked running, even outdoors where theres more to see and engage with. Was never good at it and always felt I wasnt suited for it. That said, I agree that its probably one of the best activities you can do for yourself, plus I feel better even after two days of having done it.
