IDK if it's a runner high but I do get something that feels amazing sometimes, not always from running but sometimes at my gym. I'm usually listening to music in the middle of exercising when it happens. I feel completely energized and I can feel the blood pulsing through my scalp with every heartbeat. Ive never liked running, even outdoors where theres more to see and engage with. Was never good at it and always felt I wasnt suited for it. That said, I agree that its probably one of the best activities you can do for yourself, plus I feel better even after two days of having done it.

i cant do it because i broke my ankle multiple times in my teens and the joint is prone to giving out if i go on a long run. within a few blocks it feels like i'm grinding glass with my ankle.

Running on dirt and grass is generally fine. But running on concrete should be banned by the Geneva convention as a war crime.
