It is really odd. Handsome, charming, able to do action and romance, able to be serious or funny.

I feel like I've seen the majority of the films he's been in. The Princess Bride, Bram Stoker's Dracula, that weird 90s live action remake of The Jungle Book, Porco Rosso and The Cat Returns for Studio Ghibli, and this film (in progress, anyway).

Is there any story behind why his career didn't go further than it did? Personal demons, studio politics, etc.?

You know what's sad? The throne room fight is legitimately more exciting than any action sequence in the Kevin Costner movie.

Pretty fun film so far. It's no Blazing Saddles, but I'm liking it.

I worked at a CVS pharmacy. The pharmacists would have to eat at their work station or take five to hide among the shelves of medications where the customers couldn't see them.

I mean what I say though. You can't be anti- and win.

It's like pro-life and pro-choice. The left didn't say, "We're anti-life." They said, "We're pro-choice." If the right says they're, "Pro (regressive) America," then the left needs to be "Pro (progressive) America" or "pro something else."

It's like the 2016 election. They thought Trump being the villain would be enough. People had to have four years of that would-be dictator before they reluctantly rallied behind "anyone but Trump." We need a rallying point, we need someone or something to rally behind, rallying against will get people nowhere.

So even if you think that America is dirt and the flag is a piece of cloth, it's still an impractical method of trying to bring about change. Because it's not for anything.

I didn't see the Superbowl. I was working.

Taking a knee tends to be an anthem protest.

That is my problem with it. When you say "fuck America," which is my takeaway from kneeling in protest of the flag, you say fuck everything that is America. Which means the troops, the people, the personal freedoms, etc. I don't disagree with their desire to raise awareness, but I think they're taking the wrong target.

If one side is anti-American and one side is pro-American, the pro-American side will win. The left needs to be pro-America -- but a better, more inclusive America. Or else they need to be in favor of replacing "America" with something better. Right now, it's almost like a contest between an organized army and a couple of scattered groups of guerilla rebels.

If the left can't rally together and work for a better tomorrow instead of complaining about how much everything sucks, this nation will be fascist within a decade or two. And that's just being real.

If I were to want to live in a Disney movie, it would honestly just be a weird furry fantasy which Disney probably wouldn't condone. I can't say that I want to live in a community modeled after Peter Pan's Neverland, the Ratatouille version of Paris, or the Princess and the Frog version of New Orleans.

What is gained from the protest? It doesn't generate sympathy or raise awareness. It just gives the right something to be mad about. And when the right gets mad, they get motivated.

It's like watching nature footage of wolves going after prey. The calf that kicks the wolf survives, the one that sits and cries gets eaten. The left's strategy? Sit and cry.

If you have an enemy, and you sit and feel sorry for yourself instead of fighting, the enemy is going to win. The left is watching America burn without so much as grabbing a pale of water to try and put out the fire. They're just letting it happen.

Taking a knee isn't helping anything.

You shouldn't be fighting America, you should be fighting for a better America. All this does is give strength to Republicans. It gives them something to push back against. It doesn't do anything to strengthen the left or undo any of the harmful things that are happening.

It was stupid when Colin did it. It was stupid when Biden did it. It's stupid when Em does it.

I think it's almost a joke at this point. Take something fun and lighthearted and make it dark or serious. Even the gritty Teen Wolf reboot got renewed.

My supervisor told me that she's going to call the nursing supervisor and that it's more or less up to the nursing supervisor if I'm to be fired. The technician in me would like to keep his job. The writer in me would like to have the antagonist for his story.

If she doesn't get me fired, and I name the character after her, it isn't retaliation - it's aggression. But her name and attitude are exactly what have been missing from my story.

It was canceled in the early 90s. It was going to be a prequel in which Roger met Jessica during World War II while Roger was off on a search to find his father. But this was after Steven Spielberg directed Schindler's List and decided that Nazis are no longer allowed to be comic foil for heroes.

I think I would probably choose Yoshi's Island and remove Baby Mario from the game. It would be fine for Yoshi to protect a baby Yoshi, a prince from a far away kingdom, etc. But I think Mario was better when he was someone from Earth trapped in the Mushroom Kingdom instead of someone born into the Mushroom Kingdom.

I suppose Mario canonically being an actor was inevitable. There was no way that they could reconcile him going after apes in construction sites, rescuing princesses from dragons and aliens, go-karting, being a doctor, etc., but I think the basic Alice in Wonderland approach of a person trapped in a fantasy world is a better premise than a baby hero who is fated to grow up to fight the Koopas and seems to be one of about five or six human characters in the entirety of the Mushroom Kingdom.

I'd love to see it, but Smithy has as much of a chance of returning as Wart or Tatanga.

But blocking the Roger Rabbit prequel is the worst thing he's ever done.

Roger Rabbit -- technically a Disney character -- would have been revealed to have been the son of Warner Bros.'s Bugs Bunny. He could have brought about peace and harmony between the studios. Or maybe this would have sped up the process of Disney buying everything. Who knows? Either way, it's a shame it never happened.

My heart stopped for a moment, then I remembered modern Disney doesn't allow female villains. Much less would they turn the smartest, most popular member of the team into a villain.

When they say that they're forcing female characters to wear heels, do they mean that all female characters were heels by default or simply that the game has the audacity to include women in high heels? Because those are two different things.

If the only female character available is "sexy booba chick in high heels," yeah, they would have a point. That's not exactly fair representation. But if they're mad simply because a sexy character exists, then screw Kotaku.
