I was having Celebrity Deathmatch flashbacks.

I mean, yeah, sure, why not?

Star Wars was political.
Superman tackled racism and homophobia. So did X-Men.
Star Trek was about how good the future would be if we were all vegetarian atheist socialists. (I disagree, but it's their right to feel that way.)

It gets annoying if it's handled poorly, or if they're blatantly chasing brownie points, but they have every right and responsibility to do what they feel is right. If you had a platform, wouldn't you want to address what you feel is important?

I was surprised when the penultimate Harry Potter movie had partial nudity. So glad she was an adult in that scene.

This realization is why I stopped watching 20+ years ago.

Don't give your story a goal if the show isn't about reaching the goal.

I don't have any problem with the talent wanting to be paid. But when someone says, "I'm the star, I deserve more money than the rest," I find it a little hard to be on their side.

Bender is the easiest voice to replace. Since he's a robot, they can explain that he got a new voice module. Hell, they could make the first episode all about him getting a replacement voice. Have him show up with a female Siri voice. Go through a bunch of voices that don't work. Settle on a voice that's going to be his new one.

The trailer for the forthcoming Jurassic World movie states that it's the "conclusion of the Jurassic era." Unless they're going to be cute and call the sequels Cretaceous Galaxy, I think it's safe to say we're looking at a remake of the original Jurassic Park in the next five to ten years.

An R-rated Jurassic Park is and always will be out of the question. Don't get your hopes up for that.

Realistically, what can we expect?

Will it be more like the novel? Will Dr. Grant have a beard? Which dinosaurs will have feathers? Which character will be Black? Will there be a juvenile tyrannosaurus along with the adult? Will they include the raft scene or any of the other action sequences that didn't make it into the first movie? Will we see Ed Regis or Dr. Gutierrez? Will Ian Malcolm be a bald-headed Texan with a goatee who wears all black?

The word conclusion made me sad. (I sincerely hope the tyrannosaurus does not have feathers in the inevitable remake.)

Other than that, I'm pretty hyped. I'm so happy to see the dilophosaurus back. Five films and it's had one scene. It's long overdue for a return.

Also, we're finally going to get some answers on whether or not the two Jurassic Park sequels are canon. They've played the fence with that. Now, we're gonna know. Did Dr. Saddler really run off and marry that other guy? Or did that film never happen? They can't not bring those sequels up now.

I've learned not to be hyped for movies. I've been burned every time. *glares in '98 Godzilla and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull* But I'm reasonably optimistic about this. It looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Yeah, okay. I'm hyped.

Disney Star Wars is the most ass-backward approach to storytelling I've ever seen. It makes the George Lucas special edition 11th revision of the classics seem logical by comparison.

Let's kill off everybody, bring back half of the characters who are dead, and do prequels about a bunch of dead characters who contribute nothing to the main continuity.
