This is basically a Lonely Island movie right? So in that sense I hope it'll be good.

But I'm getting a bit tired of these meta crossover plots all of the time. It's getting a bit samey. It wouldn't surprise me if Mario has some sort of meta plot too.

I don't want to turn my nose at this just yet, but I gotta say that I'm pretty over these big IP multiverse mashups at this point. After Ready Player One and Space Jam: A New Legacy they just feel like a cynical flex on the studio's part, and they don't feel nearly as special and unique as Who Framed Roger Rabbit did.

The Ducktales reboot is the only recent example I can think of where I genuinely enjoyed / appreciated these kinds of callbacks (which is ironic, considering how the Rescue Rangers were used in that show - I honestly thought we were getting a rebooted spinoff series based on that when I clicked on the topic title, similar to how they're spinning off a Darkwing Duck reboot.)

The Lego Movie did it well but that makes sense for the property. Wreck-It Ralph was fun too sicne video games on the big screen wasn't a big thing yet.

But yeah this is getting really common.

I don't want him to die. He's my favorite director.

But blocking the Roger Rabbit prequel is the worst thing he's ever done.

Roger Rabbit -- technically a Disney character -- would have been revealed to have been the son of Warner Bros.'s Bugs Bunny. He could have brought about peace and harmony between the studios. Or maybe this would have sped up the process of Disney buying everything. Who knows? Either way, it's a shame it never happened.

It was canceled in the early 90s. It was going to be a prequel in which Roger met Jessica during World War II while Roger was off on a search to find his father. But this was after Steven Spielberg directed Schindler's List and decided that Nazis are no longer allowed to be comic foil for heroes.

Ok in that case I disagree what he did because that definitely would have been a great movie, and it's not like it would have been Blazing Saddles either. It would have been family friendly

Eh who knows. Sequels in the early 90s didn't exactly have a great track record.

Sure but all those bad sequels were direct-to-video. This sounds like it would have been a major release.
