I would love a real sequel to it. I liked it more than the paper mario games.

I always loved Booster. He deserves to be the main villain in a mario game.

For a while now a sequel to SMRPG seemed like the best way to go for Mario RPG games. Paper Mario has drifted far from what it was. And Mario and Luigi is presumably dead.

This. Even if a sequel was made, it would mainly just use established Marioverse characters, and OCs would essentially be nonexistent.

I would love that. I know the Paper Mario games are basically spiritual successors to Super Mario RPG, but they don't feel the same to me. I don't like the papier mach aesthetic.

Meh, never understood the hype. I could not stand the game personally, could not be bothered to finish it. I though Paper Mario was leagues better then RPG.

But I think this game would get the Sticker Star/Color Rush treatment if they made a sequel

I can see where he's coming from on some level; he wants to make sure to maintain the appeal of the core cast and not end up with dozens of new characters nobody cares about like what happens to Sonic's cast.

But i also agree that an RPG is only enhanced by unique interesting characters so he's being too inflexible. A platformer can get away with keeping it simple, but an rpg needs a world to play in.
