I like fantasy fiction. Have I *ever* read a fantasy book that I thought was a miss? Just Tolkien. I mean he has some great moments but the moments where he immerses you in the badlands areas of the world are not friendly to my attention span. Fiction writers are taught to be descriptive, descriptive, descriptive. I don't really like that. Mercedes Lackley is good because her books are about discussion, discussion, discussion. Margaret Weis is good because her books are about experience, experience, experience (and emotion). --- So much of the tragedy in human history can be explained by man's attempts to kill Cain. ...
