If that's literally all the screen time she gets, I'm okay with it. I'd rather her be absent than for them to mess her up.

Batman Returns is great.

I can't say which Schumacher film I'd rank lower. Batman Forever has greater high points. Kidman is hot, Carry has some memorable quotes, and Tommy Lee is fun if you forget that he's supposed to be Two-Face. But I also have greater disdain for the film for pretending to be a legitimate successor to the Keaton movies. The fourth film knew exactly what it was, a two-hour toy commercial, and accepted it openly.

I don't blame the director for how the third film turned out. The studio changed horses midstream and decided that the film would be lighthearted during production. You can't do that. The tone is the very first thing you decide upon. It determines the clothing, the set design, the way the characters are written, etc. You can't just say, "These dark characters are going to be fun and kid-friendly now," when you're already deep in the decision-making process.

Not even sure about the Stunner anymore. Years ago he said on his podcast that he fucked up his lower spine from jumping up and falling on his ass every night.

If Austin is to lose the match, the Stunner is the easiest move in the world to tease without delivering. He reaches his arm around their head, they shove him before he can complete it. No strain on his lower back. Alternatively, he does the "get up" hand signal to let the crowd know he's going for the Stunner and the opponent blocks the kick that goes before the move.

If he is to win the match...

20 years ago, they could have made it a first blood match and had Austin win by hitting the guy with a chair. They don't do headshots anymore.

Um...

Okay, let's have Steve Austin vs Hulk Hogan instead. They can pose for three minutes. Austin will hit the Stunner. It will take Hogan another three minutes to fall down.

That's a six minute WrestleMania match.

I mean, all he needs to be able to do is throw punches, stomp his foot, and hit the Stone Cold Stunner. If you put him in there with a smaller guy who will bounce off of his punches like they've been launched out of a cannon, you can get a decent four minute match.

Jurassic World 3 is supposed to be the last film in the series. The only way the inevitable Jurassic Park remake could stand a chance against the original is if the final dinosaur action sequence is the tyrannosaurus defeating the spinosaurus.

I've always dislike the creative process of naming or modeling characters after people the author or director dislikes. Yet, I may have just gotten fired and because of a nurse whose name is 70% phonetically similar to the name of the antagonist of the story I'm working on. It would be so easy to tweak the name and it would be an improvement. But if I do that, I can't tell myself this will be a one-time thing. If I open this door, I'll find myself naming a character after my childhood bully, patterning a character's mannerisms after my aunt whom I dislike, designing a character to look like a critic who disliked my latest masterpiece.

It's not like this has never produced good antagonists. Goldfinger is the best Bond film and he was named after Ian Fleming's neighbor. Fred Krueger? Freddy? Wes Craven's childhood bully. The murderer from Rear Window? That was producer David O. Selznick whom Alfred Hitchcock disliked. I get the creative power behind the pettiness. It drives you to hate this character as you want the audience to hate this character. But I hate to let that in.

I can already see it happening. I'll receive a call tomorrow stating that I'll need to go into the office (I've been working remotely) and I'll update my story notes to give the antagonist their new name. A Clockwork Orange was written in three weeks. I wonder I can put together a competent novel in the same time. No need to apply for a new "real" job. I'll just skip ahead to my career as a writer.

Welcome to prime time, bitch!

We had a Black female James Bond in 1973. Hollywood has gotten better about this in recent years, but there was a long stretch where people would say, "But there aren't any (insert group here) stars," when it came to the prospect of telling a story with a certain type of protagonist.

I think remaking Cleopatra Jones, and reminding people that the original was from the 1970s, is a way of really letting people know that there should always be room for inclusion. Anyone, Black, Asian, lesbian, gay, Arab, transgender, etc., should be able to be a star and be the hero of their own story.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/0/2/AAdlC_AAC7NS.jpg

And I think that her presence in a new movie would be a reminder that opportunity has been cyclic and that we need to make sure that that door never closes again. We need never get back to the point where only White male heroes get to be heroes.

Yes.

It's sung from the perspective of an ignorant individual though. Allegedly, the lyrics are based off of an actual conversation that was overheard by the songwriter. Some people were unloading TVs off a truck and conversing about how easy it was to be a musician. If that story is true, the homophobic remark likely stemmed from that conversation.

Personally, I don't think he's always right. I think celebrating America's loss in Vietnam is going a little too far with his politics. The VC did far worse than the US. But it is what it is. He saw things in black and white and Nixon was the bad guy.

If George Lucas thought he was making a movie to criticize Republicans in particular, then he utterly failed. In catastrophic fashion. I never said he was a master craftsman. Or that I fully agreed with him.

Yeah? Which part? The message of Star Wars was basically "don't be evil"

@Gobstoppers12

The Rebel symbol is based on the peace symbol which was used as a protest of the Vietnam War. The Battle of Endor -- in which the Empire is defeated by indigenous furries despite technological advantages -- is meant to be a direct parallel of the Vietnam War. Nien Numb, who blows up the second Death Star, is also modeled to look like a Vietnamese individual.' The line in Episode III, "So this is how democracy dies.. with thunderous applause," is a direct reference to the Bush Administration. And the original pitch for Star Wars was that it would be set in the far-future with the Empire being the government which took over the world. The Empire are also fascists (i.e. far right-wing).

George Lucas has long been outspoken in his politics in interviews and social media. He even claimed that Barack Obama was more powerful than Luke Skywalker. Richard Nixon was allegedly the inspiration for the Emperor, but that feels like an ass-pull since Palpatine has none of Nixon's mannerisms. Either way, Georgie-Boy is 100% anti-Republican.

Seriously though, it's awesome to have both Aladdin games in one collection.

The two compliment one another really well. The Capcom game follows the story more closely than the Virgin Games version does and the emphasis on athleticism is more in-line with the movie than stabbing everyone with a sword. However, it lacks boss fights and the gameplay is much slower.

The Virgin game uses backgrounds from the movie as wallpaper rather than following the film's plot, but it's beautifully animated by actual Disney animators. And while playing with a sword isn't true to the character, it's satisfying to run, jump, and slash everything in sight. Also, more boss fights. Like, three times as many boss fights.

I have two frustrations with retro Disney games, two glaring omissions on their legacy:

1) We never got a Gummi Bears game for NES. They defeat their enemies in-show by jumping on them and use Gummi Berry Juice as a powerup. It's practically a video game in animated form!

2) We never got a Robin Hood game for the SNES/Genesis. He runs, jumps, climbs, shoots arrows, and fights with a sword. Again, ideal for gameplay. You also have varied enemies such as the weasel guards, the alligator mini-boss, the muscular rhinos, etc. That semi-3D scene where Lady Cluck plays football against the rhinos would've made an awesome Mode 7 level on the Super Nintendo.

Like, ugh!

Of course, video games have a long history of not making games out of characters who are ideal for video games or making bad games out of characters who are ideal for video games. Like, why is it so difficult to make a Superman game? He flies, punches, and shoots lasers. Why is it so difficult? Why?
