That's been a theme since the beginning though. It was never addressed in the games until Halo 4, but it's spelled out pretty clearly in The Fall of Reach (the first piece of Halo media) that the UNSC is far from good. There's the whole kidnapping children to turn them into supersoldiers thing. And of course the Spartans were originally created to squash insurrections, which were seemingly commonplace across human colonies.

Honestly I think the games should have leaned into it more. Would have been cool to fight some humans as well.

It was in there, but it was far from the focus of the Bungie games/books, because there was a far bigger threat. It was also a bit more nuanced in Fall of Reach, like Halsey did some fucked up shit, but without her and her Spartan 2s humanity would have been completely exterminated. You can make an argument that making the Spartans was a necessary sacrifice.

Once 343 took over after Reach, the nuance disappeared and Halsey is just evil and the UNSC is worse than the Covenant, it was no longer morally gray.

Hmm I dont agree with that at all. If anything the first 3 Halo games were much closer to classic super hero cape shit. They were all built around an existential alien threat with far superior technology pushing humanity to the brink of extinction, and you (Master Chief) are a super soldier the last hope for humanity to stop them.

Since Halo 3 the stories of the books and games have been a lot less focused on a central plot and are all over the place, but it seems they like to concentrate on well ackshually even though Master Chief saved humanity, the humans are bad and the central government is corrupt and everything sucks

Unless they are talking about the modern comics and movies which have tried way too hard to copy Watchmen and tear down the classic good vs evil hero story, no one is actually good, all sides are corrupt, etc. Then that makes sense

So I went to Encore for their weekly and I did pretty well, almost won the Redemption bracket, got 2nd out of 18. The guy I lost to in the finals beat me in the main bracket as well, a very good Pyra/Mythra. Overall I ended up winning more than I lost, went 0-2 in the main event and 6-2 in the Redemption.

Yeah this is what I'm curious about. I don't really care if a specific pastor doesn't want to marry whatever couple. You can get ordained and do that stuff. And I think current federal law already gives them exemptions

It might be best to do a sequel game at a new school? Come up with a totally new story set at the American school, Durmstrang, or some other place? I haven't finished the first game yet but I feel like they shouldn't just reuse the Hogwarts map again for another game.

He hasnt fought any of the top guys top guys like Jamahal Hill in light heavyweight. Im sure he would still dominate, but that is probably a better challenge than the 40 year old Stipe. He put in the work to bulk to heavyweight, but with Ngannou gone its a lame duck field

If it is dividends from stocks you still get taxed on them, you should get a 1099-DIV from your broker w/ all your dividends. Looks like it is taxed less than ordinary income though, 15% or 20% (depending on your income)

Kind of. It was more of a general statement about expectations/desires in dating and why men/women view it differently. I say it's mostly due to how society trains us to look at dating, which is changing (thankfully.)

It is driven a lot by biology too. Men evolved to spread the seed to as many partners as possible. If a woman gets pregnant then she has to spend a minimum of 9 months before she can have another child, usually more. That is why women evolved to be more particular about their partners and sex is a lot more of an emotional connection for them than males.

I knew they would show up in the final fight after we saw them again w/ Hank. It still doesn't make it good storytelling for the ant farm to take down Kang and his entire army single handedly.

That's not really a deus ex machina, though. It was pretty well set up through the opening act.

I wouldn't really call a couple throwaway lines and 1 minute of screen time "good setup," and still incredibly stupid that Kang was defeated by an Ant Farm that happened to fall into a time vortex

I noticed a bigger change in myself, just became a lot more confident in public, which lead to different interactions with people.

The evidence is pretty lopsided toward the lab leak being the source. The Wuhan Institute of Virology was the top SARS/Coronavirus lab in China, they put it in Wuhan specifically because environmentally it is one of the least likely places for a SARS/Coronovirus outbreak to occur naturally, the lab was studying the 8 closest relatives we have found to COVID19 (which they shipped in from Southeast Asia, thousands of miles away). They were studying these viruses in BSL-2 level security facilities, which is so low that employees don't even have to report if they get sick or quarantine afterward.

It was bottom tier Marvel unfortunately. Every part of the plot was so contrived, Scott had no character arc except "Where is my daughter!" Wasp and Hank were completely sidelined, none of the MODOK jokes landed, laughably bad Deus Ex Machina ending. The whole movie was pretty much pointless for the overall MCU except for the couple of Kang scenes, and even those didn't do much. The main Kang was the only bright spot.

Not sure if it was because of COVID limiting how they filmed or if other MCU movies just disguised it a lot better, but the whole film felt so boxed in. It was blatantly obvious throughout the movie that 99% of the scenes were shot in a studio in front of a green screen, with probably only one actor in the room. No chemistry between any of the characters in the scenes, probably because they weren't even filmed together. It just felt so awkward, really pulled me out of the movie.

Yeah Smash is in a rough spot right now, losing BTS is devastating, I loved the Summit weekends. I have hardly even touched Steve and I don't know the limits of the new tech, but it seems like it would be very easy to setup anytime Steve is in disadvantage. Not just an easy way to escape any multi-hit move or low % combo, but also an easy bait/punish since Steve has no lag. Its not an obvious tech either like Wobbling, characters fall out of multi hit moves all the time naturally, would be hard to determine if the Steve tech was used or if the move just sucks and failed to connect.

I am hoping someone like Gimr does a deep dive into the tech and its limitations (Twitter is only posting the crazy benefits), but right now it seems like a full Steve ban is the way to go

I don't have any issues drinking just water, but I would think drinking flavored seltzer water or diet soda would be a fine option. Calories in/calories out is the most important. I wouldn't put too much stock in that recent study getting headlines about sugar alcohol causing heart disease, it's just one study and countless others over the last few decades show opposite results.
