The Didact has a huge backstory in the lore that is not explored that much in the game, which makes him a better character imo. I enjoyed the Halo 4 campaign though, not as good as the original Bungie games but the story wasn't bad. I also enjoyed Chief being a bit more emotional in Halo 4, and the cut scenes were great.

The gameplay was pretty meh though, and Prometheans are not fun to fight at all. Way too many quick time events, and pretty annoying how the Didact is so OP that whenever you go to fight him he just immediately force chokes you lol, you never get any proper boss fight or anything against him. Also pretty annoying you don't get like any backstory on who this faction of the Covenant is and why they are still fighting you, and then they just immediately get relegated to lackeys of the Didact when he awakens. Complete waste of them as an enemy.

Opec cutting production means gas prices are going to go up. (They cut the quota by 2mil but several countries weren't meeting quota to begin with, so the ACTUAL production cut is about 900k-1.1mil, somewhere in that range). And with the high demand in europe, that number is going to shoot up. We're going to see the highest gas prices ever this winter IMO.

Depending on how oil prices react, I would not be surprised if OPEC does another big cut in November when they meet. They want $100+ oil, and they are going to get it. No one can really stop them anymore now that US Shale has thrown in the towel.

I thought OPEC+ cutting 2 million bpd would have a bigger immediate impact than this, especially since estimates all week were 500k to 1 million max. At least GUSH is still having a green day though, hopefully other people got in with me when it was $114 a couple weeks ago!

Reach is a bit more lore intensive than the Halo games before it, it is good to know at least that Reach is the birth place of the Spartans, the military capital of humanity, and basically the last line of defense before Earth. If Reach falls, then the war is basically over and humanity will just retreat to Earth for one final stand. Also Dr. Halsey is the master mind behind the Spartan II's, and the creator of Cortana.

Halsey made the Spartan II's (what Master Chief and Jorge are) but did not make the Spartan III's, which were basically slightly weaker mass produced versions of the II's. All of Noble team except Jorge are Spartan III's, which is why Jorge is "the big guy" compared to the rest and also the only one who seems to show Halsey any respect.

I never said they were to "Stop Hurricanes", that's fundamentally impossible. A side benefit of the massive wind farms along our coast & off-shore is to just "Reducing the Hurricanes Intensity". That's all.

The primary purpose is to generate power along the US coast line where the vast majority of people live.

Having LOTs of Wind Farms provide Green Energy for us and I think that's worth it.

Imagine how much power we can capture if the US coast line was dotted with dense Windfarms across the coast for countless miles deep into our territorial economic zone.

The amount of energy we can generate.

Sounds great, except for the reducing a hurricanes intensity part, that is just not possible, which is what the original Stanford video was about

Most of the West Coast will need floating hardware to harvest offshore wind.

Too late, we're already investing ALOT of money into offshore wind turbines.

We arent investing money into wind turbines to stop hurricanes though. Which is probably why they want to put those on the WEST coast, where hurricanes are extremely rare.

Gusts of up to 128 mph? Yeah that wont last very long.

Lets see, one of the largest off shore wind farms in the world, the Hornsea Project 1, covers an area larger than Philadelphia, took 4 years to build, and cost a whopping 4.2 billion. This project has a grand total of 165 wind turbines. And definitely not the newer expensive turbines which could survive 128 mph wind.

The video says tens of thousands of turbines would be required to effect a hurricane (which I think is low probably hundreds of thousands to have any actual effect), this is going to take a very very long time and a ton of money and these would have to be stacked basically right next to each other to take up the smallest area possible, meters apart from each other to basically make a wall (hopefully the ocean floor in such a large area is flat and wants to play ball).

Then we get into maintenance on the things, which is extremely expensive, especially being in a hurricane hotspot. You keep posting things about the turbines, but the wind towers themselves can only withstand 175 mph, not the 200+ you can see in a big storm. So every big storm we see 10%-20% minimum (look how easy current off shore wind farms get damaged, that are deliberately put as far from hurricanes as possible) of these at least with minor damage to the blades, or catastrophic damage to the whole tower. Now we need to go fix tens of thousands of windmills before the next storm hits. I cant even fathom the amount of man power and capital that would take.

Yeah, just 5 minutes of thinking and you realize using a wind farm to slow down a hurricane is just pure science fiction.

Heres an idea even better though that I know you will love. Plastic Roadways!!!

That's more of a "Side Benefit" of having thousands upon thousands of Wind Turbines off-shore.

The main purpose of the Off-shore Wind Farm is for power generation and there is plenty of real estate off the US coast to plant Wind Farms.

And hurricane alley would be the absolute worst place to put an off shore wind farm

If the Great Northern Conspiracy theory is true, then we definitely dont know everything from Roberts Rebellion. I dont think something that complicated is actually going to turn out correct, but I do think there is a lot more to Roberts Rebellion that we dont know besides R+L=J and what the show portrayed. There is quite a bit of mystery behind Rhaegar for example. I dont trust HBO to do the story justice though, unless all 7 books were out (inb4itwillneverhappenderp)

If you actually read the article, it was never meant to "Stop the hurricane", just "reduce it's storm rating by a few tiers" to be manageable.

Current Wind Turbines are already designed to withstand hurricanes while off-shore. That's why they are already allowed to operate in area's where Hurricanes might go.

Solar Roadways is a completely different animal and is dumb as eff.

I definitely watched the video, and yes using thousands and thousands and thousands of windmills to reduce the force of a hurricane is extremely stupid. Just cause they made a little computer graphic doesnt make the idea any more realistic.

I havent watched House of the Dragon yet, but I am assuming that only covers the Dance of the Dragons?

If so, Aegon the Conqueror through Maegar would be sweet. The Blackfyre rebellions would also be interesting to cover. Dunk and Egg through Aegon the Unlikelys rule and Summerhall would be good.

A totally original story set in Valyria would be epic. Or you could tell any original story you want in Westeros set during the Age of Heroes, those time periods are a blank canvas w/ familiar families that dont have to stick to any lore really.

I think a story about the Long Night would be pretty boring though.

There will be "healthy" versions of everything, all they have to do is not have too much added sugar, sodium, and saturated fat. No reason everything from pizza to ice cream won't be able to easily fit under the label.

I don't really see any obvious motives for any country to blow these up. NS 2 was never operational, and NS 1 has been shut down for a couple weeks already because of "technical problems," so Russia was already utilizing the "Remove the sanctions and we can 'fix' the glitch and gas will flow again" strategy. Causing major damage to the pipeline so now they definitely can't be brought on again anytime soon just seems to remove Russia's leverage.

Also I don't see why any NATO country or Ukraine would do this either, gas hasn't been flowing through them for weeks, you would think they would just keep ignoring Russia instead of blowing it up. And of course the idea that the US did this because Biden said "Nord 2 will be stopped one way or another" at the beginning of the year is absurd.

The Targaryen's are known for having prophetic dreams, it is how they knew the Doom of Valyria was coming and are the only ones who survived it. I highly doubt these dreams are from Bran, or that this show is even "canon" with the original series... especially because the one Aegon saw told him that a Targaryen must always be on the Iron Throne and that "all of Westeros" must be united to stand against the coming darkness. Dany wasn't even on the Iron Throne when the Night King was defeated, and the "all of Westeros" certainly wasn't united against the White Walkers.

The issue is with Hollywood acting like you can get as big as Chris Hemsworth or The Rock without using steroids. But it is already too late to focus on Hollywood, Social Media has taken over. Fake natty fitness influencers have waaaaaaaay more impact on the younger generation than any movie.

The economy has to go to almost Great Depression levels to justify this demand destruction they are forecasting, no way oil should be below $80 right now.
