If the story is true, the dad is the one who Fd up. Im also sure there is far more to the story (again assuming its true). In the story he was mostly mad about being called a bad father. He could have taken offense to any situation where his position or ability was in question (which could be why hes previous marriage ended).

I just dont believe it though, and not because of the age thing (hell, Im technically old enough to have a 20 year old son graduating and Im on Reddit all the time) but it comes across as the post trying to get awards and read by a YouTuber or picked up by some news article - what better way to get a bit of immortality than by getting a story you wrote published in some way.

Yes, I work from home currently (Have been working from home for the past 8 years or so), and before that I would work in the office 2-3 days a week and the other days were WAH.

The flexibility of WAH is the one reason I will probably never leave this company willingly. That and I already have been there 20+ years, right out of high school, my severance package is 2 weeks for every year youve been there up to a year, at this point it would be better for me to keep going until retirement or for them to let me go and basically get a whole year of paid time off while looking for another job.

I work from home normally, so other than not getting to see my friends and my shopping options are limited, not much has changed in my life.

I wake up, take out the dog and then make breakfast. Work from 8 - 4:30. Log off and make dinner. Take the dog for another walk. Then sit down and play video games and/or watch twitch or YouTube. Shut down my computer around 8, then go lay in bed and surf on my iPad till I fall asleep.

Occasionally Ill mix it up with other stuff: work on my D&D game, do yard work or work on my garden, do housework, etc.

On the flip side, i dont think too many of the original big RPGs have held up that well. The original final fantasy and Dragon Warrior are such horrible slogs to play through nowadays. Even the revamped version for PSP or GBA of Final Fantasy is just a bore. Final Fantasy didnt start having lasting power until #3.

Minecraft is a creation game. You acknowledged that yourself. Nothing more to be said on that matter.
Edit: *Waits for smart ass response that changes nothing.*

Sim city is not a creation game. It is a city management game. Determining to put an industrial, residential, or commercial block down is for the purpose of trying to make the city the most efficient thing it possibly can. You need to balance the needs of the people with your needs as mayor to have an income to keep the city going.

There are other games in the city management genre that do the same thing. Minecraft does none of those things. There is no management of taxes. There is no balancing pollution and the needs to have jobs.

At the same time, there is no crafting in Sim City. You dont need to create a portal to another world to pick up materials in order to try to craft certain potions.

If you want to say that Persona 5 is a better game than Minecraft, and not just another JRPG like all the other JRPGs that have been released over the past 20 whatever years, then you need to back up your argument with more than its a better game.

The game that Minecraft took the most from was Dwarf Fortress a free text based game that lets you do most of the stuff you can do in Minecraft.

The creator of Minecraft himself admits this fact and will say the same damn thing. Minecraft was more appealing because it was in first person and it wasn't as hard as DF or didn't require a huge time commitment to learn like DF. Minecraft does take effort to understand everything, but DF is about 3-4 times as hard to learn.

It still has far more innovation than Persona 5. The point is that Persona 5 as a game is good, but takes far more from the genre than it gave. Minecraft might have had roots from another game, but without it the genre wouldnt be where it is today.

Its a popularity contest. It has no reflection on what games are objectively better, have influenced entire genres, and have staying power. Having played both, yes they are both amazing games, but Minecraft is objectively better and more influential than the whole persona series. Persona has taken elements from previous games in the genre. Minecraft created a genre.

But again, this is basically here are two games, pick one. Many of these games are losing simply because the fan base isnt here or it just had less people who cared.

I understand the need to see your friends, but the alternative of possibly being the reason someone else dies or gets incredibly sick, worse if its a friend or family member, outweighs that.

the part I dont get is the arguments from people on missing my friends who then meet up at a place like Home Depot. Like, you know thats not the reason that it was allowed to stay open, and your arrogance is just going to ruin it for others.

If you cant get by doing things like web calls wtih your friend, just freaking have them come over for dinner, if your going to ignore the guidelines anyways, no reason to drag others into it (though you still end up doing that since if one you had it, and pass it to the other - Id imagine at some point they are going to need food and can pass it to grocery store employees)

And with me already work at home, during my downtime I basically have been watching youtube. They give me analysis work but I have a good process down so what should take a couple of days I can get done in a couple of hours, so I've mostly been just watching youtube.

Your parts not over yet, it was never only going to be a couple of weeks. It was only ever stated as "a couple of weeks" so that it would be easier to swallow. And there is a number of people who may be at risk and not even know it, especially men, since they are statistically bad at taking proper care of themselves and getting the appropriate tests done to know if they are things like high blood pressure or other underlying medical conditions.

If people would actually follow the stay at home order, and only go out for essentials like food, clothing (and not fashion clothing, just stuff you need like replacement jeans or sneakers), or for repair. We'd be fine. This would be over quicker.

It wouldn't even matter if places like gamestop said they were essential, since if people were doing what they were supposed to, there wouldn't be any customers.

But no. People have to be stupid and do things like have a tailgate party at the golf course, use costco or walmart as a "socialization spot", pack 1000 people into a church, or go window shopping at a store because they are "bored".

At this point this is dragging on not because of governement or businesses trying to say they are essential, but becuase people are stupid and can't follow instructions and aren't even taking this seriously.

So continue the quarantine. If for some reason it's lifted before makes any sense, I'm still going to be socially distancing for the rest of the year and probably just wear a mask/gloves when I go out.

Pretty much any Pokemon game from Gen 3 on has held up pretty well, especially Colosseum and XD on GameCube. Those games had 3D graphics, took the game into a different territory, and while having some weird grinding it was nice to have a game that focused on 2 v 2 battles. Id rather play Leaf Green or Fire Red, or Heart Gold or Soul Silver than any of the gen 1 or gen 2 games. 1 and 2 just suffer from too many issues and without things like items, abilities and the attack/special split just dont have enough depth.

Any of the Final Fantsy games from SNES onward have held up very well, as well as final fantasy tactics. Final Fantasy 1 is just bland now, not as much replay value as some of the others. I dont care if it kicked off a lot of RPGs, it was great at the time but now is just boring. The Gameboy final fantasy games are actually pretty good too, they may be weird but I actually enjoy their quirky and heavily RNG nature (not the Zelda style one, the one where you can recruit monsters and eat meat to morph),

I feel the Disgaea series has held up as well, but more so starting with Disgaea 2. The first one was good and has a good story, but there are so many QOL improvements just in 2 that I think that game is still enjoyable to play now (though I prefer the PSP version over the PS version due to the additional story content).

Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 are also outstanding old style RPG games that are still enjoyable and can be great when you play multiplayer.

For those not into RPGs, I think the Legend of Zelda a link to the past was a great game and still is a fun play through with decent graphics and atmosphere. Many of the Mega Man games still hold up as well, they are tough but fun platformers.

We are Just into week 3 here of the social distancing (that has progressively become more and more restrictive), 16 days total so far. Other than not getting to hang out with my buddy who I normally see ever Thursday and Saturday for Magic, Anime, and Video games - its not to bad. My D&D game went fully online, so we played that yesterday.

I work from home normally, so work hasnt changed for me. Normally after work, I would sit down and play video games or work on D&D or Magic, so not getting to go out isnt a big deal either. Most of my shopping is digital or online, so that didnt change much. Really as far as survival goes, it just sucks that going out to get food is annoying now.

I think my biggest disappointment is having to reschedule my cruise, but considering my sister-in-laws Father-in-law (not sure a better way to put that..) has been diagnosised with COVID-19 after a cruise he just took (Before all the social distancing and stuff was suggested), Im not in a rush to be on a boat with a bunch of people.

Im expecting it to be like this for a while longer. Even if the government gives the go ahead to go back out, I know they are doing that just to try to get people back to work more so than because the threat is gone, so my plan is to continue my social distancing all the way through till June.
