Unexpectedly, working from home is making people here hate their coworkers more and increase tensions. Personal insults in my group are being flung multiple times a week, yelling occurs, and theres more not my job happening. I find Im disliking my coworkers more also while working from home. The place is already an angry place, but this is just amplifying it.

Other teams I work with seem to be fine and miss seeing each other daily...not mine.

Well I'm a teacher so I'm sure my experience is different from others in the corporate world however... I've had some teachers on my team tell me I've become more comfortable in a leadership position since we've switched to remote learning. Other than that, I'm only close to one teacher on my team and we've been keeping up with each other through text and email.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

Are folks behaving differently simply because of working from home or because of other issues affecting them directly/indirectly that is making them uneasy in general?

That said, I could kind of see how being in a work environment, you behave differently and restrain yourself whereas while at home, one might not have that mental restraint.

Sorry it's that bad. I heard that that many people that come from those types of environments and work in service and retail thrive because of the structure and cohesion of the team is necessary to accomplish work. Especially since many of those places can't tolerate weak links and everyone's role has value and a direct impact. Maybe a change of pace would be good.

Given that we'd only been telecommuting for about a month before getting furloughed, it wasn't enough time to see major social changes although you obviously don't have the same sense of comraderie and unity without a shared setting. Communication stops being incidental (ie, just running into somebody and chatting) and instead becomes far more deliberate because you have to go out of your way to communicate.
