Episode 4 was only really good for introducing Popo. The Snake jokes fell kinda flat, and, if I remember correctly, the Pac-Man scene was pretty bad.

It might still have received too low of a rating; it had to be better than the first three episodes, at least. Or maybe the first three had ratings that were too high. I know for a fact that jokes about George Bush and Myspace were enough to stop me from watching the series until I decided to give it a chance years later.

Also, the feeling I got when I heard the first couple notes of English start playing in the Act 5 Intermission update. I didn't have to see anything happen before I got chills.

That said, I'm not the biggest fan of Vol. 9. It's fine, but there's no real standouts.

The one Statue of Liberty made me think, "what a s***ty twist.* The other five jpg artifact statues raise a lot of questions, though.

Dave is probably responsible for it, maybe he took a bunch of pictures of the statue with that SBaHJ camera. Still wouldn't explain where the hell Calliope actually is, though.

I played it and absolutely hated it. Not being able to string together different buttons for different combos until purchasing them later in the game, first of all, is quite a disappointment. You shouldn't have to wait until the last level before being able to do a combo of X, X, X, Y, for instance. Even once you get the combos, I still felt like I'd rather be playing Dynasty Warriors. At least those games have some variety.

Also, the game really wasn't funny. It had its moments (mainly with the bosses, as expected of a Suda game), but Juliet and Nick never once made me laugh. That was probably the biggest disappointment, after how hilarious the NMH games and SotD were.

I think it was somewhat shameful to play Pokemon during the stretch of time from Ruby/Sapphire to Diamond/Pearl. Once Platinum came out, though, Pokemon went back from cash cow to generally good game, and playing Pokemon was no more shameful than playing any other game.

Yeah, prototyping only gives out powers before entering the Medium, which is why Jack doesn't have Dave, Jade or Nanna's powers, for instance, so it seems like her powers come from somewhere else. Probably LE, as others have said.

I loved the hell out of both No More Heroes games, greatly enjoyed Contact and Shadows of the Damned, and found Killer7 fascinating.

I honestly thought he could do no wrong until I bought Lollipop Chainsaw.

I pre-ordered it, bought it, played for an hour, and then begged Gamestop to take it back. They would not give me more than $26 for it, however, so I'm just going to try and sell it on Amazon instead.

God, what a disappointment. I'm resurrecting this topic just to whine about the game, hope nobody minds.

The gameplay is pretty generic, and feels like a pretty mediocre hack-and-slash. It's apparently only 5-6 hours long, too. Worst of all, though, is that the game isn't very funny. The game seems to expect me to laugh at Juliet just acting somewhat ditzy, with lines like "Wow, these zombies suck dick at driving!" That's not really a joke, it's just kinda... stupid.

And it's not like I have particularly high standards for humor; I laughed at pretty much every single dick joke in Shadows of the Damned. Yes, even the "dick... tator" one. I'll try to play for a bit longer to see if it gets much better, but I'm not particularly happy about blowing $60 on this game. Might be one of the most disappointing purchases I have ever made, honestly.

Anyway, uu has definitely improved from just being the "evil, Jigsaw-y anti-UU." Here he's actually showing real cleverness.

UU, on the other hand, was a massive idiot about the situation. She could've won quite easily even after uu's trick if she didn't let herself get so angry.

Alright. I know that quite a few people have been jumping the gun, saying that Aranea suddenly becomes okay when she does something moderately interesting, and they were wrong before.

But this is certainly Aranea's best scene.

true she could never use a Staff in the game but then again I always imagined it was one of the easiest "weapons" to use. it's a damn healing staff. you touch someone with it and they are healed.

Read the Dozla/Garcia support. Harder than it sounds.

Also, what the hell is with the staves? The outfit isn't that terrible, in fact it's probably the best female DLC outfit so far (not that that says much), but why would they give her staves?

She better at least use swords with them, maybe like the old Valkyrie class.

For FE9 in particular, I think a Direct/Order run might be interesting. Remember how the game gives you the option to have Ike give you units orders by just pointing them somewhere instead of moving them yourself, and how that option is completely pointless? It might be interesting to try it out for a run.

All games listed barring Persona 1 and the first two SMT's are great, though. I would hope that this one takes more cues from Nocturne than from SMT1 and 2.

EDIT: Though I will say this about Aranea: Scenes with her have improved, thanks to the fact that characters like Mind-Dirk and Meenah can play off of her terribleness. Unlike, for instance, in her first conversation with Terezi where we just listened to her drone on and on and Terezi just encouraged her.

The real reason Tifa didn't correct Cloud during the flashback was because if you learned this too early, it would completely ruin the game's plot.

Of course, the solution to this is to make sure that when you have an unreliable narrator, don't put someone who could correct the narrator's mistakes in the same room until later.
