Last night, I got into bed at 11 as usual, but when I closed my eyes, I just couldn't fall asleep. My mind was racing. The Xbox One X, which is not only the most powerful console ever created, but also the smallest console on the market, is going to be discontinued. I tossed and turned in bed. I could not get comfortable. How could I expect to just drift off to sleep knowing that any day now, gamers will no longer get to experience true raw power, right from their living rooms? I called up my girlfriend, who goes to bed at 8pm (as women are wont to do). "Hey babe," I said. I could hear her shifting from her sleep. "I can't sleep. I keep thinking of how powerful Microsoft's latest console, the Xbox One X is, and how emotionally and physically devastated I will be when it is discontinued. Never before has a home console been a 6 teraflop powerhouse before and contained 12GB of RAM, and we may never see that configuration ever again." "Babe," she said, "it's 11pm. I need my 16 hours of sleep so I can face a full day tomorrow of being indecisive about what I want to eat for every meal. Why are you so concerned with raw power and supply chains so late at night?" I howled with disgust. "Woman, listen to me," I screamed into the phone. "It is not every day that such a powerful console comes out. | Romulox28 07/15/20 8:58:14 AM #47 | i thought tlou2 was a good game and i enjoyed it, i definitely had some complaints though. the gameplay was a little too basic and i wish there were more options to play stealthy. the enemy AI was also really bad, I wish this was improved too. story-wise the pacing was really off on the second half of the game and in general i didnt connect with any of the characters besides abby & ellie, so it was hard to feel anything for them when they died or whatever. the seraphites also bugged me, they felt pretty cheesy and often did not make much sense. overall cool game, i was kind of burnt out by the end but i'll probably go back in a bit to play new game + on a harder difficulty --- |

| Romulox28 07/14/20 2:14:07 PM #24 | I wouldnt sweat it, as others said you definitely have the personality for this so you will be fine. i write everything out so before id make more or less a chart or at least notes of accomplishments with the big metrics you want to brag about and then intangible talking points (how you work with cross functional teams, manage personalities, etc). for my most recent job i interviewed through teams, it's kind of awkward feeling b/c there is no real human interaction but there are benefits. obv over video you are not making eye contact so you can glance at a note on your second monitor, not worry about body language as much, etc. plus there is a lot more leeway if you misspeak or something, it's inherently going to be a little awkward for both parties. but really just chill out and dont stress it, you know your shit, at this point just present your honest self and hopefully it's a good fit. you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. good luck --- |

| Romulox28 07/10/20 9:09:15 AM #62 | Just beat TLOU2 last night. Overall I'd say it was a decent game but overhyped and a little disappointing. My elevator pitch review of it would be that TLOU is an ok game disguised with incredible production value & presentation. I'd say the weakest part of the game is by far the gameplay. The stealth gameplay is really basic and got stale for me, and I was very disappointed with how bad the AI was (and AI is everything in a stealth game). As I mentioned before, the gameplay is hidden behind a lot of presentation (graphics, gore, enemies acting like they're strategizing with each other, etc) but since the game is like 100,000 hours long, at a certain point the presentation started to wear off. What I actually ended up liking the best was when you'd be in kind of an open area looting stores or whatever, never knowing if there was going to be a zombie or something in a dark room. I think I would have liked the game more if this was the main focus over battles arenas with humans or infected. Story-wise I once again felt it was good but not great. I really enjoyed the main theme of the game and thought the idea of two girls having parallel narratives where they're coming to terms with their grief. while i thought abby and ellie were interesting characters, i can't say i liked any of the other ones, they all felt pretty flat like they existed only to be plot devices for abby/ellie. i disliked how much the story dragged - i got what they were going for with the abby plotline for example but so much of it felt like an unfocused sidequest - and i hated everything about the seraphites, they were cheesy and rarely made sense. at times the story felt unfocused and pretty ham fisted at points (look, we get it, lev and abby is supposed to mirror joel and ellie). overall not a bad game, i am glad I paid $60 for it and will probably replay the combat encounters again once i've had time away from the game (because using the shotgun and molotovs is too fun). but i cant really understand how people are saying this is a 10/10 game unless they are total non-gamers and just rate games based on their production value. --- |
