mine is like 6 years old now. I've replaced the PSU twice, video card twice, RAM once, got a new monitor. I could max everything on every game and get 60fps up until a couple years ago, but I usually just do high settings to get 120-144 now that I have a 144hz monitor

might get a new one but I don't feel like building it myself this time

Core i7 9700k, stock clocked since I dont have a need to OC right now
32 GB DDR4 3200 RAM
Geforce 1660 Super (went cheap on the video card because Id rather wait for the 3000 series to splurge)
1 TB + 256 GB SSDs (the 256 from my old build)
1 TB HDD (also from old build)
2 monitors (old monitor 1680x1050 60hz, newer 1080p 144 hz as the main screen)

Same, tbh I find the prospect of building a computer to be pretty daunting because I feel like I barely know how to use one. I also am super casual with gaming anymore, just a few indie titles mostly.

I've only owned two computers my entire life and both are out of commish now. I do want to get something to continue working on my art tho, my apartment just isn't big enough to keep working exclusively with physical media, canvases in piles everywhere lol.

that's a good idea with the GPU, supposedly the 3000 Series is a dramatic increase in performance

I have always built my own PC in the past but I actually got a screaming deal on my current gaming PC at Microcenter.

https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-legion-y520t-25ikl-tower-core-i5-7400-3-ghz-8-gb-1-tb-us-90h7002bus/

To be honest, I was really looking for a good video editing machine and something for graphic design. It runs everything I throw at it at almost full setting. Resident Evil 7 looks incredible on my machine.

My current monitor is a tablet screen that allows me to draw and paint right on to the screen. Though I still find it easier to draw my own designs and scan them in rather than drawing directly into the tablet.

I still have my overclocked 2500k from when I built it 9 years ago. Upgraded the graphics card since.

Probably about time to do a full upgrade though finally, especially with the new console gen starting soon.

Ryzen 2600
RTX 2070
16 GB ram
32" 1440p 144hz monitor

For some reason my GPU has started to run hot, the fan will kick on to max and then go back down. It's very distracting. My Temps go up to like 80-83 under load, but adjusting the fan curve to prevent the intermittent jet engine leads to throttling.

I put a band aid on the situation by just lowering the power it draws to 85% and increasingly clock speed slightly. Still annoying. I have two intake fans in the front, and a back and top back exhaust fan. Dunno why all of a sudden I'd be running into issues.

Might upgrade to a 3000 series when they come out. =/
