The biggest thing I picked up from watching reviews is that progression is awarded by giving you more things you can do and gear to upgrade, rather than making you hit arbitrarily higher numbers. That should just be how most games are imo.

I really want to like it but the reviews are so mixed, and the fact that it's a western company makes me cringe a bit, especially with all the historical inaccuracies. I guess I'll see what people say once it's out. I hope it's good.

Getting better gear that looks cooler, is rarer, and hits harder is one thing. But getting an arbitrary player level increase where your same stuff hits harder and the enemies have more health doesn't really add anything imo.

Also upgrading by getting better attacks is always good.

Yeah, I keep on going back and forth on getting it at release but since the reviews have dropped I think I'll pick it up for sure

I had no interest in it, really, but I'm thinking I'll be picking it up at some point-- if not at release, soon. The only reason I might not pick it up this week is because I wouldn't be playing it right away.
