True. Although Diana still has conspiracy theories around her,but they have a hard a sticking because it is a bit hard to believe the queen would assassinate her daughter in law, compared to an amorphous government agency with very little oversight killing the president.

Regardless, both have conspiracy theories because the thought of a powerful person dieing so young from essentially randomness is a bit scary. It is far more palatable to believe that there is some agency at work behind everything. Chaos is too horrifying compared to lawful evil I guess

It's mostly an issue if you are using a 1080p resolution on a 1440p monitor, since they are not even multiples with one another, you will have a stretched blurry image. You can set the monitor to 1080p mode to compensate, but you will have black bars. Just a minor annoyance.

I guess also if there is a 2d game built around 1080p there can be scaling issues, since there usually is a fixed pixel array with them, but there shouldn't be any issues with a 3d game due to the way they handle textures. Not a huge deal overall, but just something to pay attention to

It can get pretty complicated, but there are three basic panel types: TN, VN & IPS. TN are pretty fuzzy and kind of outdated now a days for anyone but the sweatiest of sweatiest gamers who value response time over all else; VN have the best blacks and are good all rounders ; and finally IPS give you good color saturation and accurate color reproduction at the cost of weak blacks and often backlight glow. So that is panel type.

Then you got refresh rate. In general, while your video card is pretty weak, you want a 144hz here. That way you will get the smoothest image provided you can get the FPS, although you will have a hard time get close to 144 FPS with anything but older games like CS GO and League with that graphics card. Still, pretty sweet when you can get the high FPS.

Then finally the size. In general, 24 inches is optimal for 1080p and 27 is optimal for 1440p. Since, your video card is a bit weak, you may want to consider a 1080p monitor, since you will get about 1/2 the fps at 1440p compared to 1080p and you generally don't want to be dipping bellow 60fps. Plus there are weird scaling issues with 1440p sometimes, since it is a weird stop gap resolution similar to 720p. But that extra screen real estate can be nice, so I can see why people like them

I usually just emulate everything now a days anyways. I know most emulators aren't cycle perfect, but I can't tell the difference most of the time (I mean, I was such an ignoramous that I was happy with zsnes for the longest time and that is not even remotely accurate). It is way more convenient for me to have a bunch of games I can easily access that look half way decent on a pixel display. Quality of life features such as save states and fast forward are also very nice, although I try to avoid save scumming as it ruins the fun, but if there is a unfun section that you don't like repeating over and over again it is nice to have in your back pocket.

Ultimately, these old systems will die, so everyone will be playing on emulators one way or another, given enough time, so it is a more futureproof system

Yeah, it tends to be one of the less talked about things in the US. Even conservatives that talk about cutting the budget, seem to blind to the rising health care cost even though, at this point the US government spends more on medicare & medicaid than even the military by a large margin and that is not even talking State Health care expenditures, which can be pretty high as well. It is ludicrious how much we spend on it, as we are pretty much approaching socialized countries health care expenditures and even exceeding them in certain cases at the governmental level on a supposedly private system that still have to purchase ourselves.

Yeah and insurance sucks. I spending $300 a month for insurance that pretty much covers nothing until I meet a $8,000 out of pocket and the cost of anything is mind boggling. I mean, even the price to do something routine like put a cast on a broken bone can cost up to $14,000. Gosh forbid you have to do any surgical procedure that can run in the $100,000's. I just don't know where all this money is going. It certainly is not going to the doctors, they would be all scrouge mcduck rich at the prices that insurance charges for these things and the insurance still thinks they are cost too much and wants to replace them with Nurse Practitioners all the time. It just seems like a massive scam at this point

Percentile based damage is certainly a thing. I mostly think of it as a thing in Arpgs though. Diablo 2 had static field and Titan Quest & Grim Dawn had percentile based damage abilities as well, although they where kind of useless in the later games because bosses had a high resistance to it and you would mostly want percentile damage for bosses, not normal mooks. Overall, while static field was pretty good it felt like you bursted enemies so fast that it made these abilities kind of useless.

I don't necessarily agree. They got screwed by this strategy a few times. The NES classic was a good example. People were obssessed with it in the first run, but no one could buy it and by the time the second wave came out the hype for it was dead and no one could give a crap about it. I ended up getting the classic for $40 in box with an extra controller. I feel like if they just produced the right amount to begin with, they would've made more money. 3D All-stars is a good example of this. While it theoretically was "limited" they produced enough units that nearly everyone could buy it and they ended up selling millions of units of that game.

People give Obama a lot of flack for the drones, but honestly how else could you play the war? Boots on the ground are only good at getting shot at and blown up by ieds, but the drones allow us to attack the enemy without any risk of retaliation. Same result: dead enemy, but with far less risk to US troops. If we where using conventional methods we would have been out of the war long ago. The only reason you can even contemplate staying is because the drones do some much of the dirty work now. That is how you can control a country roughly the size of Texas with 2,500 troops.
