Is that society is a lot quicker to forgive and understand guys who talk about mistakes they made in the past or how dumb they were when they were younger

with women though its like a lot of people will forever hold any error in judgement against them for life, even if they werent even an adult yet when something happened and they didnt know better

thats been my perception anyways

I think you got that kinda backwards though.
I mean, men usually get longer sentences for the same crimes women do.

in the legal system maybe

Im referring more to judgements from other people and how/when they decide to blame people for their mistakes

It's also kind of a weird example because I think history has been kinder to her than him, which is kind of th the the reverse of this topic. Not that he ever faced serious consequences for it (if anything it seems to have tainted Hillary more).

Probably has to due with the mean girl phenomenon. Woman really hate other woman that are more successful than them. Men are a little more chill with power differentials, mostly because we are can see ourselves in the boss chair someday

I don't think women hating women is really the reason for all the Hillary hate, but it's interesting you went there in a discussion about the difference in how men and women are treated. I mean of course it's women's fault for how they are treated.

Sounds pretty backwards to me, but probably because as has also been said women tend to be more judgmental of women than men do so I'm not really privy to how bad the situation really is for them.

I know in my personal experience when it comes not to past mistakes but current ones I've seen women given much more leeway for the same mistakes compared to men. It's actually a form of sexism really, treating women as if they have diminished capacity to understand their actions the same way a child might have and thus going easier on them. Hopefully stuff like that changes in the future.

Women get away with a lot of things that men can't. Women are also trusted more than men, especially around other people's children. When I was a kid and later a teenager, grown women did things to me that a grown man wouldn't have gotten away with if I was a girl. It wasn't anything insane that you could make a movie about, it was little things like being hugged or kissed by grown women I didn't know or being called "sweetie" or "honey," or being expected to slow dance with adult older women whom I wasn't comfortable with at social functions like weddings (if I refused my parents used to tell them I was just being shy and they'd insist until I gave in). My best friend's grandmother used to pinch my bottom if I came within reach, I'm sure if I was a girl and she was a man he would have been hauled off.

I'm not saying that girls should have to endure such things because boys do, just that boys get it too. I worked with several young ladies in a customer-facing environment and I saw them have to put up with men calling them pet names and sometimes trying to touch them or comment on their looks or body features all the time. I got it from women too but not anywhere near as often.

Thats messed up but I think I get a sense of what you mean. As a kid I sometimes had similar experiences of older girls or babysitters being abusive. Im not really sure what would have happened if I had talked to my parents but I really think they would be dismissive about it.

I think you make a good point.

While I agree that certainly is an issue, I think there are other things behind it. One may infer that the perception that women have it easier is women seem to have less of an issue asking for help, or talking about their problems.

If the idea that men are so much stronger than women is subconsciously supplanted into the mind of every person, and mental health care is stigmatized. Men do not feel comfortable sharing abuse due to social ostracization; that could be easily exploited by a predator.

That's something that everyone needs to unpack to an extent. While I think men should be the tip of the spear in towing their own line. Women certainly have a roll to play in unpacking previous patriarchal standards. Much like men, there are positive and negative forces towards true equality.

If you all want to have a legitimate discussion about men's rights, I'm all for it, but let's not do it at the expense of women.

I wont hold most things over either men or women forever. People make mistakes. Wronging me is different, though like you cheating on me, sleep with my SO, or kill a family member, you effectively dead to me And a dick. And will always be. But if you like made a mistake or something that doesnt affect me (or our relationship), then it kind of doesnt matter

I think it's cause men stereotypically do dumb shit. Like my hands broke from punching something I shouldn't have and the doctor came in and first words where "look all men at some point punch something they shouldn't have..."

For women though the pretty ones I feel are forgiven/not judged as harshly than most men period.

Well in a male ran world I feel women had the edge on that cause men typically aint gonna give preferential treatment to a dude cause he looks better

I mean im told I look good (not like hot just good) and I hired on at a bojangles once and the manager was like here's your station get to work. Pretty young girl hires on after me and he was giving her a very thorough tour and being super helpful explaining everything etc.

After that is when I realized 90% of the staff was female. He was the hiring manager

They kind of do, though. Like if a good looking guy and not so good looking guy both gave a compliment to a female, they may treat it differently. Like they may thank the good looking guy, but tell the other guy that it was creepy. Not all the time and not all females, but it does happen sometimes And I think did a study once to see who men and women trusted more based on just looks. I think women were trusted more than men. And good looking people were trusted over the other

Eh I meant in like getting a job or something as simple as getting a free drink at a bar/club. Even at gay clubs ive never gotten a free drink. All I got was a old dude perving on me. And as said I ain't ugly.

That meme though I saw one today similar format that showed the girls saying "it's a zombie apocalypse and we are the only ones left we are better than men" and then showee the men " allright bite the zombie and see if it turns human"

I've been thinking lately that women get called pet names by men maybe for lack of something else that is friendly-sounding to call them. Like some men will call other men "bro" or "dude" or "man" but those don't work with women, and I never heard anyone call a woman "sis."

I hate being called pet names by women and I'm sure if I was one I'd equally hate being called those names by men.
