Otherwise, a survey conducted last year found that fewer than half of all Afghans wanted the US out, but that was before Al Qaeda started moving back in. The intelligence community predicts that the Afghan government could fall in as little as six months.

Yeah, it feels like we have perpetually be pulling out of Afghanistan forever now, but there is some thing about this place that the powers that be can't stand letting go. I mean even if we withdrew the troops I figured we would just load the place up with a bunch of PMCs and CIA operatives anyways and just wage war on the down low there. I mean, it mostly is a drone war down there anyways with a very small US contingent at this point.

I dunno. Hypothetically, if it all was about the opiates, wouldn't you rather utilize PMC's and covert ops than the US military? I mean, while the US military is a clusterfuck, there is still far more oversight over this organization than PMC's and the CIA. There is virtually no chance of anyone finding anything with later organizations. Outside a bit of war profiteering for your cronies, I don't see the advantage of the former. The op will be less expensive and more covert with the later and just as effective.

All i know is that the opiate production skyrocketed after we invaded. I don't think that's a coincidence

I have no strong feelings about the situation, one way or the other.

You might want to take a look at what their legal names are. This harkens back to that time I suggested you do a modicum of research before you decide to try to act like you know something. I see this is going to be an ongoing issue for you.

The younger Sinatra was technically not a "junior" (his father's middle name was Albert) but was nonetheless known as Frank Jr. throughout his life.
