It happens all the time in history. Usually some world conqueror like Napoleon or a Hitler that capture a lot of territory rapidly, but don't know how to stop, end up overextended and eating imprisonment or a bullet to the head for thier failure to know thier limits.

Although, ambition is probably less of an issue for peasants like us though. You may push to far past your abilities, but you usually can fall back to what you are doing previously if that didn't work. In general, ambition is probably "less cringe" than a lack of ambition. Because society does expect certain milestones to be met at certain ages and if you haven't people do look down on you

D&D has been going down hill rapidly since 4th edition, and it's extended to the video games.

Forgotten realms has always been a boring and generic setting. I mean it works for games and books because it is so general that it pretty much allows for anything, but I don't know anyone that is ever getting blown away by the setting

I dunno, the system library is mostly a bunch of PS2 HD collections with Demon Souls & 3D Dot Heroes on the side for me. Can't say I got a lot of use out of it. Kinda a weak gen in general. Probably have more affection for the 360 for the Ninja Gaiden Black & Ninja Gaiden II wombo combo and the better controller. Although, I do have about 6 playthroughs on Demon Souls, so that is no slouch, but Dark Souls will always be better in my mind. Demon Souls is one of the weaker titles in the series for me. Too many weak areas and bosses in Demon Souls plus unstable 30 fps kinda sucks now a days

Eh, it is pretty much a cynical ploy to make some money back after they decided to cancel Metroid Prime 4. Make a low budget Metroid game and charge $60 for it. Although, 2d Metroidvanias are a dime a dozen now a days, so it is hard to imagine it even mattering

The army can't lobby congress to save thier lives, so they have by far the lowest funding per capita despite having to do more than the other branches, so enjoy worse armaments and facilities and in general, have less tools to accomplish thier missions . Officer retention is also considerably worse than the other branches for this and a multitude of reasons, so they suffer from brain drain as well. You would have to be crazy to join the army over other branches

I still don't understand why the marines have a base is Arizona. Aren't they supposed to be a navel unit in theory? What they going to do, defend lake Havasu from attack, patrol the white water rapids of the Colorado river from invasion. Honestly, at this point you may as well roll these guys into the army, but then they would have to be poor and wear that shitty digital camo that makes it even easier to be seen, so I can understand why they like being under the naval branch

I think in 4th grade is when they started with the classes. In those the girls and boys were separated and mostly taught about puberty. I dont think they actually did sex-ed till 7th, but that was mostly just watching births.

Yeah, it was 7th grade for me too with the whole condom on banana thing. The teacher teaching it was a total creep too, essentially an old man that everyone thought was a diddler teaching us sex ed. Definitely a pretty awful experience overall

Why is that I wonder because I feel the same way. On paper, 3 is way better with its faster combat, more expansive areas and better boss fights, but ,yeah, I prefer ole janky 2 for whatever reason even though so many of the decisions with it annoy me to no end. It is so bizarre.

Although, 1 will always be my favorite. Everything about that game is so iconic. Superlative level design and verisimilitude, well at least until you get the lord vessel that is, but the DLC ends things on a good note, so we can forget about lost izaleth and the demon ruins.

The pay is good and a lot of people that join come from poorer backgrounds where maybe the best job they could get was flipping burgers or operating a cash register. I would certainly take military to that horrible fate.

Although to be fair, if I were to go into the military it would be the air force and not the marines, but the marines do get the coolest uniforms I guess

I feel like a country's size has a much bigger impact than the populations homogeneity does on societal outcomes. It just seems like the bigger the country gets, the more people fall through the cracks and economically. I mean, America has hollowed out cities that are pretty much post apocalyptic wastelands where there are no good jobs, so people languish.

It seems like a lot of America's issues arose in the late 70s early 80s when most of our factory jobs got offshored and women starter entering the work force in greater numbers therby achieving the double whammy of increasing supply of labor, while decreasing demand, therby stagnating wages. So instead of one person working a job, now everyone does and there are less good jobs to start

It still seems wierd to me why covid would affect manufacturing of chips. I always thought the majority of these factories are largely automated anyways and companies like Amazon have shown that you can still run an efficient labor intensive business even during covid

It is is pretty much impossible Palestine pretty much views the whole landmass as thier own and Israel won't sceede any land to Palestine especially after giving away the Gaza strip and bring screwed by it.

Ultimately, Israel will just annex the whole of Palestine given enough time. They already annex more and more land as time goes on and I can't see anything that the Palestinians can do about it. So, it will be a one state solution given enough time

I found the first few runs can be a bit difficult because it can be stingy with ammo early on (Something other Resident Evil games don't do), and about halfway through the difficulty spikes quite a bit when you return to the mansion the second time. Unless you are following a guide, no shame in restarting if you are feeling stuck and using your lessons learned to try again. I feel like the game expects you to retry it multiple times and the remake didn't change that one bit.

You can dodge zombies pretty consistently by either luring them to one side of the room and running around them if the room is big enough or going in and out of grab range to bait out a grab and run around the zombie while it recovers, so I don't bother killing most zombies. Hunters outside of the ones on the stairs near the save to are pretty easy to avoid because they mostly scream and you run past then.

The game is pretty generous with health and anti grab items as well, making a mostly pacifist strat viable. About the only enemies I kill outside of mandatory bosses are the zombies and chineras in the lab to make fuel canister transport easier, the hunters on the stairs near the save room and the mirror hallway zombies on my second mansion run. Most bosses go down in 8 super shotgun blasts, so aren't too bad. Overall lack of ammo really is not too much of an issue unless you kill everything

To be fair though, I am not too much of a big fan of the way proposals generally work to begin with. I mean, it kind of sucks to be putting a person on the spot like that. It feels more like a high pressure sales move more than a legit romantic thing to me. It is an important choice that should be contemplated and not guilt tripped into

Yeah, that is pretty much the way I look at. Once women starter earning an income they were able to deal with reprocussions of divorce much more easily. Plus there is less shame nowadays anyways. I mean, half of all marriages end up in divorce so that is not really good odds to start

Although, I doubt women proposing to men will be too much of a thing. Men are still very much expected to be the leaders in the relationship and it would come across as very odd if a woman proposes. It kind of seems a bit clingy and desperate to me especially if it is a formal proposal with a ring and everything, instead of a "yeah, we should get married" type of deal.

Nintendo has a hard time developing these big hd games to begin with. I mean, when you look at the Switch's library it is mostly ports with maybe 4 original first or second party developed games a year and some.of them are 2d platformers at that. If Nintendo couldn't port Wii U or Wii games they would be in trouble

I predict that Zelda will be released at the end of the consoles lifecycle like TP and BOTW and Metroid may never see the light of day.

Childish insults are protected under the first amendment. Boogie would have to fear for his life from Frank for there to be anything and it is a hard case to make when Boogie is making the threats and Boogie is the one with the gun and Boogie is the one the was locked safely in his house but chose to confront Frank

I guess if there is any just deserts for Frank, he did get banned off YouTube although he popped off from this scandal, so it probably was worth it for him
