I see that they donated it after being found out. Better late than never, I guess, but that doesn't explain why this sat on it for so long. Were they making equity off of it and just skimming the top off so they could donate the principal? There definitely needs to be an audit and investigation into this. Charitable organizations should not be doing anything with the money other than collecting it and donating it. Too bad he fucked his Open Hand organization. Hopefully nobody touches his charitable organizations in the future.

I just finished listening to it. The biggest factors for the broken judicial system in the US is the 'tough on crime' politicized mantra, and lack of support for inmates before, during, and after incarceration. Fairly interesting.

Took a break for lunch before listening to it some more. He's gone into the conjugal visits and how the prison system views any benefit to the prisoner as an excisable luxury instead of leaving them with some carrots to dangle to reward good behaviour.

So far, "saving money" (but not really) and a need to punish people are the prevailing factors at play. To put it in stark contrast, he brings up Norway, who had the same type of system that the US had before they went on wildly divergent paths, seeking rehabilitation instead of punishment. Recividism rates have gone down to around 25% to 30% after five years as opposed to 40-78% in the US.

I'm 15 minutes in. 23 minutes in starts into private prisons being gross as fuck, with profits over people 100% of the time. He goes on to say that the private prison system is merely a symptom, not the disease. Lack of education plays a very prominent factor in incarceration levels as well. The cutting of social support systems and education for inmates has led to a drastic increase in recidivism rates, which costs tax payer's more money for incarceration than actually letting inmates focus on life after jail.

The most generous thing you can say is that according to the IRS filings, the money is still there in their account. They're just... sitting on it for some reason. That charity needs an audit.

I'm watching the video right now. Karl Jobst typically does very good research and doesn't make claims without actual proof, because libel and slander laws are actually a thing that can be litigated in Australia. This evidence is pretty damning if Jirard and his family can't come up with a good enough reason for why they're sitting on over $600k of charitable donations without finding a beneficiary (despite listing 3-4 charitable organisations in their livestreams).

It was never a clear 1:1 conversion. The nice thing about living in a border city was going to the US for a day to shop and get "cheap" fuel.

CECHE01, which is the 80GB version. System reads 120 GB. I'm guessing the storage got upgraded at some point, Which makes sense, as I noticed that some of the tamper proof stickers were removed to gain access to screw holes.
