I guess we'll find out. I had fun with Cyberpunk 2077, but you can't ignore the absolute clusterfuck surrounding the company and the game's development/launch. The director is the guy responsible for allocating assets and timetables. If he was the director of their best game, then it stands to reason he should be the guy to be able to create and develop an award-winning feature.

Then again, we've had similar auteurs in the film industry who have created nothing but shit otherwise, because they've been too busy huffing their own taint.

This is interesting. I'll be paying attention to what they do. I love The Witcher series, but CDPR has fallen off the last few years. I hope they can keep realities and expectations in check when delivering content.

I can pull 55+ FPS on Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with med-high settings and DLSS set to 'balanced'. I don't think Elden Ring will be _anywhere_ near as demanding.

If you are considering a 5800x, please reconsider. 5600x is a much better value for gaming and the 5900x is much more useful for productivity purposes.

5800x is just in an awkward middle area where the cost increase over a 5600x isn't worth it, but it isn't good enough to warrant cheaping out over the 5900x.

The 5800x is $450 CAD on sale, with the 5900x being $630 CAD. The 5600x is a lateral move for me unless I'm doing productivity tasks.

I'm heading to the Coliseum to rescue Princess Hilda. I'm enjoying the game more than I thought I would. Helps that they removed virtually any and all griding requirement, though there are still instances where it would be useful. The story is a robust upgrade from the first game, but is still kind of non-sequitur. Maria is becoming a powerhouse. She has twice as much agility as anybody else, more strength, more mp, and more magic than anyone else.
