Woke up a little after one this morning to hear Kitt crying at the top of my stairs because I had them blocked off for Ren. I let her up so she could get use to him. She is grumping, but they survived the night. He's being very forward and playful. I'm glad he doesn't have the one brain cell yet.

Rebirth so far.

People are still modding Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, and Oblivion. You know, actual good games. Fallout 4, for its flaws, is a decent enough experience that people enjoy modding it.

Personally, I think he looks like an Anaxagoras (Nax for short).

I've got his name picked out already, but I'm waiting until I actually get him before I give him the name. A little bit of a superstition on my part. As soon as you name something, you attach yourself to it. I don't want to experience the heartbreak of something happening before I actually get him.

There are reports that, of course, the next-gen update breaks mods on PC. This was to be expected. Hopefully modders come back in to fix these mods, which include a bunch of stability patches.

I should download this. It may not be the next Fallout game that we want to capitalize on Fallout's sudden resurgence in popularity, but the Fallout 4 next gen patch will certainly be a welcome addition. Hopefully they can update the mods that I use.

Conversely, I started up a new game of Fallout New Vegas after spending three days troubleshooting why my game wasn't loading its master ESM files. It wasn't that it was overly complicated or anything. I just couldn't be bothered to do it any more than five to ten minutes at a given time before breaking off to go do something else.

I traced the problem back to FCO 3.0. It was installing the Russell companion patch ESM despite me not having the master file nor it loading the master file itself. It refused to work for obvious reasons. Disabled it in the load order, and it works flawlessly.

Sunday is when I get him.

This entire thread might have given me the reason why they wanted to bring this to the Supreme Court and hear arguments. They could have easily struck it down and used the lower courts ruling as an exhaustive litany of reasons why a president doesn't have immunity. Having this hearing in public on public record, forcing lawyers to admit in public what is and isn't presidential act for purposes of immunity, would go a long way to forming critical pieces of arguments for prosecution against the conspirators and accused.

As a person that wanted nothing more but more Dragon's Dogma, I loved the game. It was mostly what I wanted in a sequel. I'm not in love with the changes to Magick Archer and removing my boy Assassin, but the new classes fit the bit well. The post-game is fine, but really missing the feedback loop from the original game. No Ur Dragon? The fuck? I'm also pleased as all hell that they took what I considered to be just a gameplay mechanism designed to keep you from swimming and exploring - the brine - and actually made it part of the core story this time around.

All in all, a solid 7/10 game. Performance is a bit naff in towns, but it's fine outside of towns.
