I survived a meteor destroying half the solar system which then caused the sun to go nova, TWICE, then I got turned into a frog and a rock fell on me and killed me.

A super mutant in Fallout 3 killed me and then my PS3 got the yellow light of death

My brother and I were playing NBA Hangtime on N64 co-op against the computer, highest difficulty. We are tied at the end of regulation. First overtime, tied again. Three more overtime periods, still tied. At the end of overtime #5 we hit a late dunk and are up by 2 with .4 of a second remaining. The computer gets just enough time to throw up a full court shot, swish. We both knew we got cheated there.

Triggered the animation where you get an opening, went to charge a Power beam shot to end it.

Got excited, double-tapped the button, sent one (1) uncharged shot plinking off his face.

also on that same save file was the one time I got Pokrus, and ended up shutting off the game because I was freaked out and didn't know what it did >_>

Recently playing Skul the Hero Slayer(on Switch). I had almost everything unlocked. Decided to play a bit and in the middle of my run it suddenly switched to a different language. Like, I never even opened a menu it legit just suddenly switched to Dutch or something for no reason. I tried resetting and all the normal stuff but it was still in the wrong language, so I googled which options were to set it back to English, and did that.

But apparently it was wrong info,bit was actually the option to reset the custscenes. Which actually did fix the language problem, and I thought rewatching the cutscenes wasn't a big deal... Until I realized it had reset my entire save file. I lost everything.
That's been like 2 months and I haven't had the heart to go back to it yet.

Winning a duel in WoW against my cousin and then getting killed by a tiger right after. That was in 2008. He hasnt let me forget it yet.

I remember when my rogue friend (almost 60) dueled my lowbie mage (10ish) for fun and summoned his Arcanite Dragonling trinket. Apparently the dragonling didnt understand the rules and proceeded to end the duel, then kill me.

Similar but also worse story. Two months ago I lost a shiny Rayquaza.
It was in HGSS so it kept confusing itself with Outrage and then healing with Rest.
I kept paralysing it, threw 100-150 Pokeballs at it. It eventually ran out of moves, it used Struggle. That was that.

I keep thinking to myself "What would I even do with a gen 4 shiny Rayquaza in 2023?" and while that's valid, I still think about what a tidal wave of crap luck out of nowhere it was.

Oh, just remembered my cousin's file in Fallout 4 got glitched. Every time he played a mini nuke would drop on him from no where.

If he was fast enough, he could fast travel or get inside a building. But as soon as he was out in the open again, bam! Nuked. I saw him once manage to avoid it, then a minute later there was another. He managed to avoid it like 3 times but another would just drop on him again over and over. lol

Losing to umtimecia in final fantasy 8 after a playthrough of barely touching junctions. Got through using summons as meat shields.

I had ultimecia beat. For those that know, know once she starts her monologue the fight is basically over you just gotta survive at that point. Well I died and had like a bunch of hero drinks I coulda popped to be invincible

First time playing Dark Souls 3 immediately after defeating the dragonslayer armour I got hit by an attack of one of the floating fire dragon thingies and died and then I died again trying to get back to the souls I got as a reward.

WWE 13 I am in the RR and I am early. I am at the very end. And Ziggler throws me out. After I eliminated so many people and saw victory right there. Man they played his song and was burnt into my soul. I hated him as a wrestler ever since.

Right around Christmas a few years back I was playing Soul Calibur 6 in ranked. Got matched up against this one Sophitia, ended up playing them for like 5-6 hours straight. At first they were whooping me, then after a few hours of constantly losing without taking a round (but gradually getting closer and closer) I started actually winning rounds. Then I even managed to take the occasional game off them.

But at the end of that session, it's game point, we're both within kill range. I've realized they have a habit of using a particular grab of hers to close out rounds, so instead of trying to force a win I decide to back off and let him run up to me and let him land the grab so I can break it and try to punish.

The dude runs up to me, pauses and blocks in my face, I do nothing. He grabs me. It's the exact grab I was expecting, my brain cheers that he fell for it, I can taste the win.

Then my fingers, in an act of grand betrayal, input the wrong throw break.

Sophitia crushes my head between her thighs to kill me for the umpteenth time, and I nearly threw the controller onto the floor. I quit out of the lobby and sent him GGs and asked for any advice, he friended me and gave me a tip I don't remember about one of my habits, and then we never played each other again.

I looked him up later because he mentioned some kind of social media on his profile and it turned out he was a tourney player from... France I think? Somewhere over there. So I felt a little bit vindicated at least, but I'm still pissed that I didn't tech that fucking throw.

I got so frustrated at Dark Souls 3 invasions that I ended up bouncing my controller off of my desk and cracking my 32" monitor.

Another one was DMC5 playing through blind. Got to Malphas as Nero, we're both almost dead, I take a hail mary shot to try and kill her before her next attack hits me, it hits her, I die. But her HP bar is so low it looks like it's completely empty, so for the first and only time I've ever done in that game I used a Gold Orb to resurrect myself and I said to myself "if this next pistol shot doesn't kill her I'll reset the fight and do it from the top".

I fired my shot, she died practically as soon as my finger was lifting off the button. I was fuming.

After placing the cards and beating Exodus in Ultima III, my party got trapped by rubble because I couldn't remember the way out.
