But instead of gaffing it up, Biden walked the tightrope expertly and had a big moment when he talked about fatherhood.

The first one pays homage to Banjo Kazooie and doesn't really live up to it. I got some good nostalgia hits from it, but parts of it are pretty clunky, like they tried to torture the game engine into working for the game.

The second one pays homage to DKC and is a legitimately great game. I think it's a step below Tropical Freeze in terms of level design, but the music is on par and the overworld is the best I've seen for a 2D platformer in decades.

This book, Romney, all the Bush Administration members coming out against Trump are all part of a marketing effort to preserve the Republican Party by distancing themselves from Trump.
It doesn't seem that coordinated to me. Romney has been consistently critical and outspoken about Trump. Bush has been consistent too, although much less outspoken. Bolton, on the other hand, is just the latest rat to flee the sinking ship. There are plenty more like him, who enabled Trump and tried to cash in on the way out. The rest of the GOP leadership has shown little to no effort to distance themselves from Trump; if anything, they've distanced themselves from Romney by dis-inviting him from Republican events.

There may be plenty of Conservatives who want their party back but among current elected officials, Romney and Amash are the only two who fit that description. I don't think anyone who voted against impeachment can be rehabilitated.

I get what you're saying and I don't disagree, although I don't think "abolish the police" would be too crazy a slogan if people did start using it genuinely. I mean, "abolish ICE" is a thing. While these services are vital and must be performed by someone, the current institutions are rotten to the core and may need to be completely flushed and rebuilt in some cases.

Camden, NJ abolished the police in 2013 (firing every single officer) and then successfully built a new police force, hiring back many of the same people while rewriting the culture. This may be the only realistic solution for some regions if police unions refuse to reform.

Sloganeering is hard. Defund the police probably was the thing that caught on because it feels good to say it. And really, the one thing that cities actually have control over is how much they fund their police, whether theyre city-run or contracted with a county sheriff. Its a slogan that requires an explanation... But its also a slogan that spread quickly in part because you feel powerful when you say it.

I genuinely don't understand why returning to another region never happened again considering how popular it seemed to be.
Aside from remakes (likely the primary reason), theres also the issue of visual style. Gens 1 and 2 were graphically very similar. Later gens dont mesh so easily, with character model proportions and other things which could take a lot of effort to conform.

Movement still feels so good in Mario 64. The camera has some moments of jankery, but it holds up better than any other game from that era, no contest. Games that came out a decade later still struggled to implement a 3D camera system as well as Mario 64 did. The graphics are very simple and plain, but thats a plus; while almost all early 3D games aged horribly, Mario 64 is still tolerable because it didnt try to overreach with its texture work.

The economy being open (i.e. the gradual lifting of some restrictions) doesnt instantaneously save all the households and businesses that are in dire financial straits. Call it open if you want, but people arent rushing out to spend money, restaurants are operating at 50% capacity at best, and unemployment is well into the double-digits. Until the economy stops contracting and unemployment falls, people need the money.

The sensor bar isnt really about motion thats handled by gyroscopic sensors. The sensor bar provides LED reference points which allow a Wiimote to track its position and angle relative to the TV (using the sensor bar as a proxy). The Wiimote interprets this information through its IR sensor and then communicates all position / motion / user input to the console via Bluetooth. To illustrate: the sensor bar is what allows the Wiimote to function like a lightgun (or at least provide a convincing illusion; the technology is completely different).
