What makes brazen borrower so much better than other instant speed bounce spells? Is the fact that it has an optional 3/1 body attached that big of a deal?

I've been wondering ever since I started played a couple years ago why other bounce spells aren't super popular since they seem really strong for tempo to my untrained eye.

Republicans have done an incredible job of pitting the poor against the very poor, haven't they

Oh no someone undeserving might get $600, how terrible! Yes let's give a multi billion dollar tax cut to a company so that the executive can be paid the money he's earned.

Already you're hearing more and more of them "rediscover" their "concern" for deficits as the prospect of a Biden win becomes more likely.

Conveniently they forgot all about it when letting Trump run up deficits at twice the rate of Obama - who had to deal with the recession they gave him.
I sincerely pray that no one in the news media outside of Fox gives those concerns the time of day. Hypocrites should not be taken seriously.

I'm really upset with myself, i thought that the augur was on the second floor of the lecture hall so i didn't bother ever going to floor 1 until after clearing out the second floor and not finding it... I could've had this incredible spell HOURS ago. Dammit.

I never would've thought I'd have more than two weapons actively in use, but having one for fire, pure arcane, and then the tonitrus and moonlight sword is a very flexible setup. The enemies that are strong to bolt/ arcane are VERY strong to them both - looking at you, tiny worms and Ebrietas babies.

I just remembered the kos parasite, so maybe I'll push through some more of the dlc later this week to give that a go.

One of the most surprising things to happen to me this run is that I'm actually really enjoying the beast cutter, its dodge attack and transform attacks are very fluid and handy. My first impressions were very biased by my love of the cane whip.

The other surprising thing is the damage from the tiny Tony. The second battle in the dungeons against the merciless watchers was a joke because of this spell.

So I've been seeing a lot of fear-mongering on Twitter about the fact that Trump appears to have (partially) cut the CDC out of reporting COVID data. Have people been able to figure out how justified this is?

It obviously makes for a bad headline, but the CDC themselves seem to be saying that the motion makes sense. And the particulars that I've found seem to suggest that this is a legitimate attempt to increase the efficiency of the nation's healthcare response, and would not even be effective at surpressing broader information on virus spread from the public if that were the goal:

Quote from this news article: https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/coronavirus-data-funneled-cdc-sparking-worries-71805842

Does anyone who is more informed on what this change actually does have a different understanding than mine?
I think that one of the biggest offenses from this is that data that was previously publicly available is now removed or inaccessible. It's also dystopian because if you'll recall early on in this disaster, an independent researcher began identifying cases around Seattle even as official sources refused to acknowledge those cases, iirc.

I can accept that there might be benefits going forward - if we didn't already have years of proof of this administration lying to protect themselves.

Finally, I saw that the data would now be handled by a private company that "won" a no contest bid from the hhs and has links to the trump family. So yeah, can't say i have any faith in anything that will come out of it!

I'm not saying this to defend corrik. I despise the man. But judging people who grocery shop at Walmart is classist and ignores the reality that it's the only option for many communities. Regardless of corrik's reason for shopping at Walmart, check your privilege that you have the ability to grocery shop at stores that carry better food options.

Ah see I tried it against Amelia and it didn't go very well. Didn't have it against bsb, but maybe if I continue my dungeon runs I'll give it a go for that one.

I spent 6 levels to be able to use the moonlight sword, and it barely outperforms my arcane beast cutter with mediocre gems, both at +6. I do love removing my ability to parry, but as far as secondary weapons go I'm unsure if I'll use it much.

I began using beast roar a lot against some of the dlc hunters. What a great spell, can't believe I've slept on it for so long.

I've tried using the flame sprayer for the first time this run and it is so underwhelming. It doesn't seem to stunlock much of anything, and it doesn't help against enemies that I thought the aoe would help against (rom's spiders). Really struggling to recognize when it's ever worthwhile to use.

I didn't see the offending posts, but yeah basically the only mainstream grocery store with more international options than one foot of shelf space is in an upscale part of town. There are South American and Pan- Asian specialty stores, but they aren't as common. The black neighborhood we've discussed here in the past, the Hill district, doesn't have a grocery store anywhere nearby. A bus ride of at least 15 minutes is needed to get food.

I didn't realize ghosts was coming so soon. Huh.

Unpopular opinion, I think that ds2 is the most fun to replay of the souls games. If you're really attached to ds1/des it can be jarring, and there's a number of things about ds2 that aren't my favorite (a number of the bosses are quite dull). That being said, ds2 has incredible build diversity, fashion, secrets/ exploration, new ideas, covenants/online (unfortunately not as active as they used to be, but ds2 pvp/coop was my favorite ever), and dlc's. "Gank squad" complaints are overblown imo, with smart positioning it's plenty doable solo.

I'm not capping myself, my ps+ expired so no online for me.

If I warm up to the beast cutter then maybe I'll do the dungeons, but honestly I wasn't planning on it for this run. Maybe if the Moonlight sword is fun then I could see myself going down there to have fun with that as well.

Question - if you use a gem to convert a weapon's damage to arcane, will it still scale off of strength at all? Or is it only off of arcane?

Oh for sure, I'm glad it exists. But people who don't have that mindset aren't going to enjoy it at all!

I'm right at the Shadows, the only dlc bit I've done so far is unlocking the Simon shortcut and getting the shards along the way. I'm finding the tonitrus to be really bland moveset wise, but that damage is nutty. At +6, only using gems I've found in the game (haven't done any chalices yet), and 25 arcane, I was three shotting the large snakes. The hunters outside Amelia's cathedral also went down so much easier than I ever remember.

I've decided to make my secondary an beast cutter, which actually will seem to matter for this run. The Tony has way lower durability than other weapons I've used a lot, so my whole "don't go back to the dream every time it's convenient, just keep powering on and don't worry about losing blood echoes" strategy gets really tense! Losing damage plus using an unfamiliar moveset is really spicing things up.

Defiled amygdala is difficult because there's so many places for you to screw up. Tons of hp, gotta be patient.

Defiled watchdog is difficult because even if you have a lot of hp, and the runes equipped, and fire resistance, you are still likely to get one shot by some attacks.
