Also I could have taken Morgan Fey out because she is part of the murder plan still but I kinda thought she would straight up be the killer, Ini Miney seems like she's plausibly just a witness and nothing else, she's actually the first like 'oh wow, THAT character is the bad guy?' character in the series.

The list is obviously subjective (it's just characters that I personally entertained the possibility of, really) but personally Penny always seemed to be way too insignificant and Sal way too silly for them to be the killers.

I wasn't really talking from a player character perspective

There's quite a few characters that the player character are suspicious of that were just obviously not the killer - like, I'm not gonna consider Oldbag a red herring

The list of characters who I can think of who even make valid red herrings is pretty short

Like I ran through a list of characters and these are all the ones I ever even reasonably felt could be the murderer, but weren't

interestingly enough, AA5 has three of the most successful red herrings imo

I must have seriously forgotten like about 250 rayfa lines there, I have NO idea how I managed to do that

I think I underestimated Rayfa pretty badly on my list, she talks a lot more in 6-5 than I remembered off the top of my head.

Also I figured Apollo would have like 3000 lines but linecounts really are down from previous games aren't they? He's not even going to break the record

I figured that Dhurke would have around 500 lines and I think I'm on track for that

Are you going to do separate line counts for both halves of 6-5? seems like the right thing to do

The DLC case is worth playing, 'cause it's an ace attorney game and all the cases are worth playing.

I'm not sure if they should have split the cases up or not. It was interesting starting 6-5 and being kind of surprised that there was a murder to clear up BEFORE going to Khura'in, but it kind of made the proceedings feel like a sideshow, it's not really until Phoenix shows up to be honest that I felt like I was supposed to be really taking the murder seriously. It's a great case but the expectations are a little weird because I didn't expect the Kurain village part to be a fully-fledged part of the case. But it was interesting to not have that expectation going in, too.

When I saw the photo I immediately thought that I was supposed to understand that it meant Rayfa was Amara's daughter, and I didn't even realize it was supposed to be a twist until they followed it up with not immediately saying "hey, could that be Rayfa?"

6-5 has a lot of great twists, but that wasn't one

Aside from 1-2 and 6-5, I meant to say

Aside from 1-2 I can't really think of a case where the very first scene had a major impact on me separate from the intro cutscene. Maybe 1-4, when Phoenix finds out that Edgeworth was arrested for murder?

Yeah, fingerprinting is like super buggy too so it's extra bad

Before I start, I just want to say that I think giving Apollo the lead role here is one of the ballsiest things the series has ever done, especially considering Phoenix has been the one leading the charge in Khura'in up to this point. I was pleasantly surprised when I first began this case and saw Apollo's silhouette in the background on the bottom screen, but even then, part of me anticipated that he would eventually pass the baton on to Phoenix to finish the job.

Yeah, there are so many things I could say about this case, but this is still the best part of it

Should be careful about 6-5 spoilers by the way

I do think Ema will need 6-6 to beat Franziska but 6-5 is going to put her pretty close. Ema's got a very significant role in the first half.

Ema/Franziska isn't going to be close, Ema's got this easily

Maya's definitely going to beat Athena too, not sure how much Athena's really got out of 6-5

Pearl... falls short of Blackquill I think, yeah.

I feel like that line is a pretty great lead-in to 6-5, considering Apollo and Nahyuta's relationship to Dhurke.

AA6 is awfully close to being my favorite game in the series period

if only 6-6 was just a little better

Blackquill is my favorite character in the series full stop

by the way, 6-4 is actually a really great case

Nahyuta's characterization is often kind of cryptic and hard to read. At the end of 6-3, he tells Phoenix he owes him a debt of gratitude, and at the beginning of 6-4, he references that he intends to pay that debt and considers it paid by the end of the case. Nahyuta behaves differently in 6-4 than he does in other cases in some ways, so I wonder if he considers this "taking it easy" on Athena or even trying to instruct her on how to be a better lawyer.

this would have been really cool characterization if they bothered to try showing it better

By the way, if you do, please note that the watch order is Future 1 - Despair 1 - Future 2 - Despair 2 - etc, I have seen people mess this up and get confused, watching in this order isn't optional

Beh'leeb is lowkey a really cool character imo

she doesn't have a lot of presence but she makes the most of her appearances without having a comically overboard character gimmick (just a slightly silly and clever one)

This is a bit of a detour but I'm actually legitimately annoyed by the person kinkshaming this guy's bigfoot fetish

The fact that he's probably a nazi or whatever is enough of a reason to keep him out of capitol hill; the fact that he's dtf with sasquatch is not an appropriate line of attack

It's less about this guy in particular who can go fuck off but it's more about the precedent it sets and how it makes people with weird fetishes feel more like outcasts than they already are

We just really don't need this kind of bullshit in our discourse, be free to share your love of bigfoot's big dick with likeminded individuals, that's not the sort of thing that should torpedo someone's career because who the fuck gives a shit

Although now that I think of it, it's kind of cheating, because he splits his lines up by switching characters in the middle of them, which makes them count for more than every other character who can't do that - you'd have to combine their lines to get an accurate total

It's fortunate that you can still really easily tell which personality is speaking even before they start giving each personality a different name in the text box, since each one has a mutually exclusive animation set

DR1 is such a strange case because everyone is fine EXCEPT the 3 most prominent characters. Byakuya has the worst VA in the series other than the obvious DR2 one.

Well I think he should be able to, given:

1) This isn't the spot the GOP stole, this one is rightfully his
2) Vacancies on the court should be filled
3) Tit for tat is probably not going to lead to good governance outcomes, even if the GOP fucking deserves it and Trump should be impeached

Although:

1) I think something is fishy about the timing of Kennedy's retirement
2) Kavanaugh sucks and should not be confirmed
