I was pretty worried that this would be the case, which is why I wasn't all that hyped for it. Like I had an eye open in a "hey, there's a chance this will actually be pretty good, there's promise" kind of way, but I kind of think the Metroid series is just unofficially dead. Aside from AM2R, which really is good.

I have three reasons for wanting to check this game out

1) It looks like a pretty cool indie strategy game thing
2) Power Up Audio worked on it and I love everything they do
3) I'm furry trash

The book for me was very much "come for the crazy stories about The Room, stay for the surprisingly gripping and emotional story about an unlikely friendship", and I'm sort of hoping this trailer is the first half of this and the second half has yet to be seen

I'm not actually convinced this film is a comedy - they might just be marketing it as one because that plays better. I agree that the book is not a comedy, but it IS a book with some amazingly funny stories to tell. It's a book that is highly sympathetic towards Tommy Wiseau so I kind of expect that the movie will carry some of that with it

Well I mean if it doesn't change then obviously there's no problem but this whole part of debate is on the premise that it does change. The hypothetical doesn't say one way or the other.

I just don't really see why it would, sexuality isn't like automatically contingent on your gender - there's a decent chance that it would change your perspectives but I don't see why it would be immediate, that's like saying if you turned into a woman you would automatically want to wear dresses or you would automatically enjoy chick flicks. Doesn't really follow as far as I'm concerned, and it probably wouldn't be shocking unless you've really psyched yourself up to be shocked by it (in which case, I would probably recommend against the gender switch)

Of course they can, but for most straight people I imagine they've never had to before, so this situation would be something entirely new for them.

I just feel like there'd be a significant difference between it happening naturally at puberty and a sudden 180 change overnight as an adult.

And I also think that as a gay man, you might have a different perspective on it than straight people would, since you've already had experience with questioning your sexuality and coming to terms with who you are. Someone who's always been the "norm" and never had to question themselves suddenly being met with something like this could be set to receive a bigger shock.

I mean I think changing your gender suddenly like that might be a pretty big shock, I just don't think the sexuality thing is going to be a big problem because that isn't going to suddenly change. I'm not special for being in the situation of questioning my own sexuality, other people can do that too without psychological trauma, I think that only really occurs if other people have convinced you or you've convinced yourself that it should be shocking

Endless shrimp is a trick, I'm all like 'ok I'm gonna eat a TON of fucking shrimp' but then the time it takes for new shrimp to come out allows my stomach to be like 'nah I'm good' and then I suddenly don't want to eat as much shrimp as I wanted to

I don't think y'all are gonna have to worry about your sexuality changing, either you like what you like and nothing changes, or you'll find out that you were into something you didn't know you liked, either way it's going to work out and it's not going to be the result of a gender swap

The "this could be as bad for you as it is for transgender people right now" thing is interesting though

Yeah the first episode or two of future arc was like, oh shit this will be cool - but then it got stupid

I really like the 'forbidden action' thing but it's squandered badly, they should have used it to create some cool mysteries. "Why did the murderer do x when it doesn't make any sense? it must be because of their forbidden action!" etc etc. But nah.

As someone who didn't like DR3 and doesn't especially like Junko, Junko is awesome in DR3. That episode you mentioned is one of the best because it's ridiculous, weird, and kind of upsetting, which is the kind of surrealist bizarreness that DR is at its best doing. Future Arc is basically just a bog-standard shonen anime about people with crazy powers fighting, it's awful.

Likeable protagonist but no conflict or really any story to speak of. 2/10

And yeah randomizers would be great - I'm absolutely certain that they would play great with the audience (although there are still like 1% odds of a catastrophic mess, which is scary).

I have always wanted to get Pokemon randomizer into a gdq, since it's probably the only game/category that I could consider myself an authority on - but the thing is, gdq has always been extremely resistant to randomizers. People far more influential than me have tried before and failed, because randomizers are considered to be too inconsistent and incompatible with what people normally consider speedruns to be about. I think that LttP randomizer is what's going to get the winds to start blowing in the other direction, which is why I'm going to submit it now.
