Like... don't they not really tour the entire US? I was under the impression TNA still did most of their shows from the Florida area and just branched out occasionally to places nearby. Do they go around the entire US like WWE does?
And yeah TNA's been better the last few weeks. I took a break for about a month cause they were getting bad but yeah they've recovered a bit. They still have the problem of being literally incapable of having a clean finish ever and all their heels and faces congealing into allied groups even if they're not technically aligned but at least their direction is getting better.
Also Karen being off TV automatically makes the shows 80% more watchable. Just gotta get rid of the knockouts segments where they spend the whole time screeching at each other, and the always pointless Eric Young segments, and we'll be almost gold.

Well sure but I can at least keep the better look going while it exists. Maybe by the time they force everyone to use it they'll have ported the Phantasea theme over without ruining it instead of moving me over to Ocean or made ocean's color scheme less terrible. And maybe they'll have improved other things too.
Gotta keep the faith.

Where's this "compact" thing though. Where do I find this option? Though I doubt it'll solve my issues with the ugly color scheme I'm wondering if that'll help the overall look.

I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
My only annoyance is that my old "ocean" theme (and anything that isn't black/dark, really) I used to use looks like crap now because of poor coloring choices of the list of messages with the new interpretation of the scheme. I keep checking to see if they had someone that has any grasp of visual design take a look at it but it never gets better.

Eh, trolling gets old. That's why I tried to divert this topic into something worthwhile, because the trolling material was potentially interesting (unlike whether Pokemon is for kids who gives a crap) and the best troll material is based on truth to some extent.
But oh well. At least this topic defying all logic got more posts than the Pokemon one. That's a moral victory or something.

Trolling is boring. I'd rather have an intelligent discussion on how Clinton's responsible for the downfall of the economy.
Or why Nixon and Reagan were. Significant elaboration on the why there could possibly salvage this and make this topic worth reading. Educate the ignorant masses of b8, Metal_DK.

Not sure why I expected to actually learn anything here, but it was an interesting approach that showed promise for a bit. I'd like if these topics went more into whys and facts that are elaborated instead of just stating opinions with some arbitrary facts that require the other person to connect the dots. They'd be more interesting to read and more educational. I like knowing the thought process behind political (well, any) opinions, that's where I think the merit and whether someone is really worth listening to really comes in.
Then again I guess it's just a troll topic so I should know better. But... EndOfDiscOne gave me hope!
Zzzz.

Yeah, that's kinda how I feel with GTA games and probably explains why I'm not compelled to keep up with the AC franchise with every installment. I think that's kinda deal any sandbox type game is gonna get from a lot of people unless there are significant overhauls with each installment.

From: EndOfDiscOne | #039 Clinton is reponsible for the housing market crash. He made it easy for everyone to get mortgages then they all went and defaulted on them.
Alright after looking into it briefly, but only briefly, this looks like a fair stance on the surface. I was more looking for specifics than the economics theorycraft that User728 is serving here.
But did W actually attempt to do anything to help clean this up? I don't recall anything. Hindsight is 20/20 and you could argue it was W being negligent that caused the issue to go awry as much as anything. You could also possibly blame it on banks being too eager to give out loans back then. There are a lot of factors and it's hard to be sure that Clinton is mostly to blame there without more evidence that I don't entirely care to look into at the moment-- but if you've got it offhand I'd be interested.
In any case, it's not as cut and dry as an economic plan that consists of tax cuts and ridiculous increased military spending not working out, for instance.

I'm still curious what Clinton's mess was that W had to clean up. Claim he was lucky to be in office at the right time if you want, not sure I buy it, but for the sake of argument claim that was the only reason the guy ran a surplus-- what did he actually do that became seriously problematic to the point that it needed to be "cleaned up"

Yeah. Well, the other thing preventing it is not having actually played through most of AC2 myself so I'd probably replay that first if I bothered. I have a decent idea of how the plot goes and all that due to playing a decent amount myself and watching a lot of it, but yeah, not too much motivation to really delve into it seeing the direction the franchise is taking (the story too to some extent-- just kinda more weird than it needs to be in some ways).
Just thought I'd comment cause it's the only game on your list I can really come close to commenting on except like Portal 2 which doesn't really compel me to do so. Not sure why I even read this topic given how little 2011 releases I bothered with but it's been interesting anyway.

Yeah I'm kinda dreading trying a later AC game, considering I wasn't totally sold on the franchise to begin with. Collectathons are my bane and skippable or not I just have a feeling it might irk me to the point where it hurts my game experience just by being there. That's why I haven't played any games at all past AC2.

I think Leon's 5 post write-up on Ryu was more impressive considering it's... Ryu.
Gosh I wish HM was still an insane person when he put Wander on his list though. Having that guy drone on for 8 posts about someone with less personality and less of a story than most potted plants would be wonderful.

Fun fact I was this close to putting Otunga or Slater.
Thing is I think I perceive Slater as funnier than he is due to HEATHULU and a gimmick I did in TEW one time where he Heath Slater claimed to be an alien from another planet come to make the earth bow down with the help of the NEXUS DEATH STAR, aka John Tenta aka The Shark aka Earthquake. Dude's gimmick is pretty lame and unfunny right now, though.

If I was on the list I'd actually argue I shouldn't be on it either! That being said I'm about as influential as half the people on this list so far because they're not either. I know what you're claiming you're trying to do with this list, but your entrants and more importantly your write-ups don't really back that. You say "creating trends laying foundations blah blah" so how did SDR, omegaman, and the jp start trends? I don't recall any trends or foundations they set up, and you didn't in your write-ups either.
Best I can think of is people blasting jp made it okay to blast people more often? But #1 that's a stretch and #2 that wasn't the rationale for your write-up-- wasn't even mentioned. You said he's the "set the standard for fat users on b8"... apparently there's a big fat guy userbase hovering around out there that I'm unaware of and it's all thanks to the jp. Color me surprised! You can say "at the time" some people made a fool of themselves roasting the guy but then jp left and no one really thought about it again. That's not what I really call influence, that's what I call reaction to an event. The case for SDR and omegaman is even weaker.

Yeah, the problem isn't so much that there are three boxarts as much as the PS3 box wants to shove those 3 boxarts into 1/3 of the vertical area of the box so it just looks really cramped. 360 looks fine.
--
I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
So you know what influence means by definition, but your list, and hell, even the write-ups explanations of the alleged "influence," don't lend themselves to that criteria. That shows you have an incomplete grasp of the true meaning of the word. It's understandable, though, as I assume English is not your native language.

I have a combo dresser/bookcase sorta thing with a ton of video games and clothes in it that I'd take if I could wheel it out quickly enough that I don't get incinerated
In a realistic evacuation scenario I'd just take the laptop, though (or kill myself trying to save more than the laptop/trying to put the fire out). It's pretty hard not to take a laptop/pc going for highest value and being realistic to get out of the house unless you have something really sentimental though, especially since we don't even have to choose living things.

I'm pretty sure the case is that Smurf just randomly grabs a list of 50 users people have heard of that he remembers and throws them in an arbitrary sequence
Then in some cases with like omegamanexe some people don't even remember the guy and it backfires for humorous effect
Or we can just say he doesn't know what influential means and he did mean memorable. Whichever.

I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
Heroic Palmer is what I'd call memorable but not influential in the least. In fact you kinda said as much in your post but apparently don't understand what influential means, since I'm not sure not getting involved in anything and "but he certainly had the quantity and consistency of supply" are exactly hallmarks of an influential person.
Which I suppose is a step up from the other "not influential in the least" guys on this list, being memorable.
No offense to Palmer intended for any of that mind you because I certainly don't think influence is anything that matters on this board anyway. (seeing how little I've contributed to the culture of this board despite being here so long, I couldn't really live with myself if I did!)

I always make myself the owner. The owner does things that are too trollish even if you turn the goals off. "Hey we're making $5 million a month but sorry I won't let you go above to $5k PPA for Stone Cold Steve Austin even though he'd be the best wrestler on our roster and we've already got a few guys that are less good at that level."

Pooling logic is pretty dumb in this topic. Haven't played Zero Mission but given that Pokemon HG/SS aren't really the same as Pokemon Gold/Silver I'd be pretty confident ZM is pretty different from the original Metroid (that and the fact that people you know, like Zero Mission). Anyway, I guess I'll try and help this list not suck best I can.

Well you're a FFXII fanboy so that goes without saying.
FFXII I can only easily remember the esper battle, boss fight, the music that plays for most of the overworld, battle on the bridge, the first town's theme, CAPTAIN BASCH town theme, the westersand theme, feywood.
Actually struggling to get more than 7 there too-- that's only 8. Last two are excellent (Feywood beats anything FFVIII has) but yeah FFVIII vs FFXII isn't too clear cut thinking about it again, though at least more of those themes are fairly common.
--
I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
Well actually thinking about what I'm claiming more carefully, I can't remember most of FFII, FFIII, or FFXII either, and while I recall more than 7 tracks offhand from 3 and 12, I actually can only remember 3 tracks from FF2 (two battle themes and the overworld theme-- which in some ways makes it a more memorable soundtrack given how often those themes play)
Still though. Point stands. None of those games have great soundtracks either (though 3 and 12 at least are better than 8)
--
I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
I wouldn't necessarily be able to name more tracks by name from most soundtracks (me knowing a lot by name for FFVIII is just because they're well named not because they're actually better tracks) but I could definitely get the sound of a lot more than that if the soundtrack was notable. Most of the other FF games I can remember most of the tracks on them by sound, even the ones that aren't too great. FF9 would be the only one I can't and that's because I only played it once 12 years ago which is less times or less recent than every other FF. (in the process of fixing that now though and I can still recall more from that game than FFVIII)
That and I'm pretty sure the only songs that play more than once or twice during the game out of that are Man With the Machine Gun (which is fairly rare anyway), Force Your Way, and the Card Game Theme (which isn't actually very good, just catchy), which was more my point. There are a decent amount of one shot wonders on the soundtrack but none of the common stuff is any good.
--
I tried to have a fierce rivalry with SuperNiceDog, but he made me look worse than a GameFAQs Contest!
I beat FF8 most recently of any FF game aside from FFT and I have to strain to remember any songs that aren't Force Your Way, Man With the Machine Gun, The Landing, Liberi Fatali, and Maybe I'm a Lion/The Extreme. Oh and the card game theme I guess, whatever that's called.
And then when I strain I realize the songs I was forgetting were pretty boring. Hell I only really like Extreme, Force Your Way, and The Landing out of those, too.

Finally got to hacking away at the cards. The near 500 I had due was scaring me away for a while but now that I've gotten it a bit below 200 I should be back on track. On the plus side almost all the cards I did were made mature and I got correct so it feels like real progress and the two weeks I took off should make things flow easier in the future getting all those cards mature. ROOF restarts maybe Saturday.
Card Maturity Mature cards: 949 (28.0%) Young cards: 268 (7.9%) Unseen cards: 2170 (64.1%) Average interval: 68.1 days
