Well ELO inflation is a possibility. If that's the case that just means you're a 1050-1150 player with a different number on him, though. Getting better is not in a number it's actually realizing how you can improve and then putting in the effort to do so. Even if you "get screwed by the match maker" you should be trying to figure out what's going wrong and how you can serve your team better-- carrying it outright if you have to.
Keep in mind that the ladder season is still young, though, so you do have a bigger influx of bads at higher ELO because less games total have been played and ELOs are more volatile. If it's still volatile, realize that and stay in pub-stomp mode until you're clear of the environment where feeders and leavers exist. I'm sure red and FD and etc will testify that they do stop at some ELO, even this season being as young as it is. -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Like uh, I have pretty good experience with the lower ELO brackets and the levels when they transition to better players and when it stops becoming so much the fault of the matchmaker and actually on you. I made a slow arduous climb last ladder season and tried to notice how people got better as I went... and in my experience last season (I did a lot of stupid stuff early to tank my ELO in the early high value games so I too started at like 900 ELO) it basically went...
950 ELO or less: Total coinflip. Pretty much every game has a leaver or a feeder on one or both teams. Pick a pubstomper and carry 4v5s or hope you get a good beat with the leave/feed situation. 950-1000: A lot of leaves/feeders. I'd say about half of your games at this level are determined by the champ select. 1000-1100: Leaves don't happen much. Feeders are still somewhat common. People start to have an idea of how to play the game, but they're still loud and obnoxious. Basically at this level it's usually like 5 individual players that know how to play their champs to some etent, but very little team coordination unless you force it or someone else does, so games can still be lost through little fault of your own just by the team not working as a team should. On the plus side screwing up is more a team effort. 1100-1200: Play gets better. Leaves are pretty rare. Feeders are kinda rare but absurd teamcomps still happen because of people not paying attention to the match-ups and just picking who they want to use. Post champ select coordination gets better around this point though. 1200-1300: People actually start to have a decent idea of how to play the game, Outright feeders are pretty rare, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a leaver at this level or higher though I'm sure they exist on rare occasion. This is where I'd say you can't really blame the matchmaker for how you do. Things like warding, dynamic item selection, map awareness, lane control, etc needs work, but yeah, the basics are all there and you can do a lot of these things for your team if you're good with map pings and such and say out loud some rec items if it's very obvious. I think i peaked at just over 1300 so I can't say how it progresses beyond that, but yeah. This is what I observe. I felt once I hit 1200 that matches were pretty much always in my hands to some extent, even if I wasn't the primary reason we won or lost, or that our team was just outplayed as a whole. Yeah, you're gonna get a bad beat sometimes but for you to blame the matchmaker pretty much all the time at 1400, to me screams 1000-1100 player to me. I give you the benefit of a doubt an put you in the next level up, but you still seem to me like you have some of the problems that plague 1000-1100 guys. It kinda matches your attitude, too-- since you're playing the game like it's 5 individual heroes vs 5 individual heroes, you'll never really see how you failed your team unless you outright fed, even if it's possible that you did. You'll always look at the guy with the lowest income/most deaths and blame that guy, even if say, some of his deaths were caused by your negligence. -- No problem! It's time for BOUND FOR GLORY, where the product starts to get REAL CHANGES. WRESTLING MATTERS. ETC.

(73) Dixie comes to the ring to hug Sting for giving her her company back, but Sting just laughs... and laughs... then explains that since he knows from her losing her company in the first place that Dixie never reads contracts, the part Dixie signed had a clause that the company would go to Sting rather than her upon beating Hogan! He pie faces Dixie to the ground and says there are gonna be some changes around here... and everyone's job is at risk unless they entertain him! TNA's due for a change... a real change, not a Dixie Carter twitter change. He ascends to the rafters via cable. Dixie cries and the fans don't know how to react so they start chanting "TNA TNA" (80) Austin Aries d. Brian Kendrick for the X-Division title (63) Mickie James is awaiting her opponent, Velvet Sky, but Daffney attacks her from behind wearing Stingesque face paint and chokes Velvet out with a bat! Then she laughs madly and challenges Mickie to a match! (60) Daffney gets herself DQed so Mickie retains (71) RVD d. Jerry Lynn in a ladder match (82) (great chemistry!) Next match is 2/3 falls... it's... Suicide vs Suicide! Mid match, a third Suicide swings in from a cable and attacks both, causing a double DQ! He umasks the competitors and Daniels and AJ Styles are beneath. The masked Suicide leaves and It's now 1-1, and AJ Suicide gets the third win. But who's the third Suicide by gawd! (84) (good chemistry) Crimson comes to the ring and says he's the best, and how he's defeated everyone there is to beat and is undefeated. He's cut off by a debuting Glacier, who says that Crimson isn't the only undefeated superstar in TNA! He challenges him to a match! Glacier d. Crimson by countout after performing his amazing entrance midmatch, having Crimson chase, then juking him to get back in the ring at the count of 9. The streak is over NOT THIS WAY. (66) (great chemistry!) Jeff Jarrett d. James Storm (66) Pope D'Angelo Dinero is backstage with D-Von's kids... Sting approaches and hands him a drink. Pope drinks it, and then Sting reveals that he's become bored of... whatever Pope is doing, so he drugged him with a powerful sedative. He'll need to keep his heart rate at maximum or he'll die-- he suggests beating down D-Von's sons for a rush. Pope laughs and asks why Sting is ripping off movies from 5 years ago but then realizes Sting wasn't messing with him as his vision blurs. He beats them down and sprints through the backstage area! (83) (Pope's Adrenaline Junky gimmick gets 81) Bully Ray d. Anderson in a mic on a chain on a pole match by putting Anderson through a table. (69) Kurt Angle d. Bobby Roode to retain after literally every member of Immortal runs in to help while the ref somehow misses every single one. (82) Sting hits the ring and says he's tired of this crap. Kurt is stripped of the title! And for causing another unclean finish at the main event to a PPV, he's also fired! (88) 81 - Success! -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I can't lie, here. Part of me would've liked to have been on the list just so I could argue with Smurf that I shouldn't be on the list. Now I'm stuck with saying "I'm not a poor man's Moltar you dolt" which doesn't quite have the same ring to it, and I can't even do it wholeheartedly because if you take Analysis Crew as Moltar's main contribution I probably am the second most important cog in that machine. The only reason to start with FE8 is it's the easiest in the series

Well I will say the one thing that video drives home is that that mask design is pretty bad for interviews. Dude was pretty muffled and yeah getting no facial expression at all hurts his interviewing. Not that I'd particularly want to see his expressions on that particular interview, I suppose.
