I think Timjab actually managed to explain that storyline in a way that makes sense, somehow.

You can even tie Kaz in as thinking maybe AJ was getting favorable treatment just because AJ/Dixie were bonding outside the business with this situation, so went along with Daniels's plot

I mean it's still a bad storyline because you need to explain this much for it to make the most base amount of sense.

Definitely agree with Jakyl on the X-Division title. That thing was kinda lost. Now it has a purpose-- although its purpose on the opposite end of the year from Destination X might be cheapened to some extent.

Also if they really want to elevate the X-Division title further there are definitely ways to do it. The most obvious way just to be... to refuse the offer to exchange it for a title shot at some point.

Yeah my problem is with the thing HGR was saying more than anything. I don't care about the 3 day thing because I usually have things I can do to occupy my time while I wait 3 days, and it's not like you can even make the "release day" argument because... well, it's been out for a month now. You waited a month+ to play the game so I don't see why all of a sudden 3 more days is a huge deal.

But yeah I assumed with always online they'd be equipped to you know, detect botting and stuff?

Why are they balancing their game around botters instead of trying to better detect botters? You'd think it would be doable in some way. GIVE ME BACK MY CHESTS.

That being said, outside of that segment the show was very watchable. I kinda agree with eddv in that I prefer something offensive in the sense that it gets people talking over offensive in the sense of "wow this show is bad."

I swear I almost think this is a product of live TV and they really just didn't know what was going on. Like how could that have really been the plan? Didn't Dixie just tweet about a booking diary or something. The fact that this has SO MANY INCONSISTENCIES, on top of having the fundamental problem of "WHO IS THIS WOMAN AND WHY DO WE CARE" is just mind boggling.

Or the rewritten script thing. If Hogan says "we're not going to pay attention to that" again then we may have the greatest storyline of all time on our hands.

FFXII has two good themes. The Feywood and Dalmasca Weste-- Easter... one of the sands. The more foreboding deserty one. I guess the esper battle theme is okay too but nothing great. Uhhh what was I saying.

Oh favorite final boss theme um... strangely tough. I guess The Extreme? Maybe Dancing Mad? I like a lot of boss themes but final boss themes aren't often at the top.

I don't like abilities that make the monster irrelevant

So molten and fire chains basically. A monster's AI doesn't actually matter there if those abilities are paired with other cc affixes. A monster's attacks don't even matter cause they'll just kill you with the chains/molten trails.

Descrator and plagued too if they were more relevant.

Anyway yeah I dunno how I feel about playing this game now. I really don't like blizzard trying to control what we farm. Why not just make Nephalem's valor lose a stack whenever you change a piece of gear or something if people swapping into mf gear before opening a chest was a problem?

1-2 shows. And in that case, it wasn't "falling behind" as much as "I taped this to watch later"

If you only count unintentionally falling behind then 1. If I don't watch a show before the next show happens I just skip it.

Well I'm just saying as long as you think she's crazy then my interpretation of the events is totally a possible one. Which it'll end up being is all in the follow up.

Although I'll say regardless of which one it ends up being it'll still be annoying to watch for me all the same because she's either a tryhard by design or a tryhard by AJ's acting/physical shortcomings which is annoying to watch either way. But I'll at least be able to respect the writing/AJ's acting if it turns out that it's all intentional and over embellishing for MOTIVE.

I'm pretty sure she attacked Caitlyn and stuff before Punk was in the picture-- and more specifically, proclaiming that he digs crazy chicks. Also to take away from the theory is that... Punk really isn't buying into her at all. That's not manipulating Punk that's going into stalker mode on Punk which is sign of a crazy not a manipulator.

And I'd be perfectly fine with that but the problem is she lead into all of this with mental breakdowns before Punk's "I dig Crazy chicks" and before Kane was in the picture. So she can't be totally on the manipulative end of the spectrum. And there's enough evidence of her being manipulative that she probably can't be totally on the crazy end, either (though you could actually explain away everything she's done as whims of a crazy person, on a stretch)

So it's all pretty blurry as to what's supposed to be what here. Yeah she could be embellishing for her manipulative purposes-- or she could be manipulating while legit descending further into craziness and looking dumb doing it. I think you guys are all going to see it as the former because you all like AJ a lot, and I'm going to see it as the latter because I've never been particularly big on her.

And if I had to bet I think ultimately WWE is going to make it seem like my idea was right, regardless of whether it is, just because it's the easier way to write it. So we'll never know what the real intent is.

Not sure on that. I don't think you're necessarily sure either because the problem is that "she's not acting the part well but is supposed to be acting legit crazy here" and "she's a bit crazy but she's just embellishing here for manipulation purposes" are actually interchangeable reactions to the same scene and you can project how you feel about AJ onto what you think either one is.

To further muddle the issue is the fact that we're not even sure how much of her character is crazy and how much is manipulative right now, as she's shown signs of both.

The problem with enrage timers and cheesing the boss is that it... just doesn't exist in d3 in the sense that the enrage timer deals with it.

Like if you're actively dodging the crap out of a boss you're not "cheesing it" which is what you have to do unless you have a boss caught in the terrain or something.

If you have the boss caught in the terrain you can afford to stand far enough back that you'll be out of the enrage radius-- and you'll also likely have it dead before the enrage takes effect.

So yeah it's just a really stupid feature on all levels that just serves to punish people who are undergeared.

Yeah, that's sorta what I was getting at, actually. Thing is I don't think they're trying to present her as a "true to life" crazy ex here. I do think that's what she's doing with it in some respects, but then in other respects she's going totally out there. I totally buy her as the manipulative/vindictive parts of the character-- don't buy the SKIPPING CAUSE CRAZY TRA-LA~ and I SNAPPED ON CAITLYN RAGE parts-- just don't feel natural to me.

What it does is it reduces damage to a cap of 33% life, but if the enemy is doing more than your max health in damage it simply reduces damage by 1/3. So a 300% of your life shot will always kill you.

If it's "not having an effect" that means the enemies are crushing you so damn hard it's overflowing the Force Armor. It could also mean that you're getting ticked with a bunch of "small damage" shots. Like if you're in a pool of fire it doesn't help at all because you're taking like 8% of your life 10 times in a second rather than taking one single 80% shot.

I dislike that they're penalizing me more than I'm penalizing myself by having the fight take a year (and have to dodge for a lot longer as a result)

Just seems like a very artificial way to add difficulty. "Hey your items don't do quite enough damage so we're going to arbitrarily buff the boss now have fun"

I mean it's still better than the god awful stupid "Out of Time" buff that elite packs get, mind you.

Why should a boss get more difficult after 3 minutes exactly? It just seems to penalize players who have low damage output which I don't entirely understand the logic behind. It should be health based not time based.

Eh. Daffney's much bigger than AJ, and yeah, I totally buy her as dangerous.

She's a "Dolph Ziggler" in that example. Which yes makes a difference.

"Must be this tall to go crazy" is how I look at it. Though again it's not all on her size either-- it's her demeanor clashing so much with her original gimmick as well.

Granted yeah if AJ gets Kane summoning abilities and her direct beatdowns of Caitlyns and Natalyas cease then yeah I will re-evaluate my position of the gimmick. (though probably hate it more because of what that means for Kane)

What I'm saying is you've gotta be x amount of menacing to be able to pull it off-- the whole relative thing doesn't really apply because Rey Mysterio being a deranged psychopath doesn't work even if it's a cruiserweight division exclusive gimmick.

Like don't get me wrong I'm not saying AJ shouldn't come off as a threat to win matches. I'm saying she shouldn't come off as a threat to seriously injure people through psychotic beatdowns/escapades, which is kinda necessary for the crazy gimmick to work, even if they don't beat people down.

Snapping on Nattie within the context of a match was played off as a beatdown though, which was my point. Spike and Rey and such don't do those things. It wasn't played off as "she won through speed and technique" so no I wasn't really okay with that.

Rey and Spike don't "beat people up." They win, yeah, but they win via roll-ups and speed. I'm not saying I couldn't see AJ winning matches-- I'm saying I couldn't buy her seriously hurting anyone which is what a crazy character needs-- at least the capacity to, to back up their craziness. Otherwise you just ignore AJ and then what does she do? She pouts and that's it.

I'll also say that the problem might be that AJ debuted with a character that was so polar opposite this one that might be hurting it for me. Like the other crazies I love(d) like Daffney, Mickie James, and Victoria, they all broke in with that as their thing-- then bailed on it (well, in the case of the latter two, anyway) later. Winter too I guess, in that it was her first TNA character. AJ sorta just shifted into it and in a way that I didn't really buy the transitions for.

The look might be hurting her too actually. There's no menace there (and it's also something she isn't good with her facial expressions from what I saw of her Caitlyn encounters, which doesn't help). Like I can't even buy her beating up other divas if she flips out... I mean I'm not saying that Mickie James looked like she could manhandle someone but she was at least she wasn't smaller than everyone. AJ is basically the women's wrestling equivalent of Spike Dudley or Rey Mysterio.

I dunno I'm just saying I feel like I should love this yet don't and it makes me sad.

Oh and I don't mean I disliked the segment with Slater. It was actually the best segment.

I just mean that... Slater was the reason it was good, and Cole was basically just feeding into what Slater thought of the segment, so I don't see why Cole making fun of it was a bad thing in this case. Now if he'd been doing something like dissing Slater's singing or something yeah that would've been bad but I thought his "ridicule the hell out of the segment" bit was well used there.

That segment was good? Slater was the only good part and he was basically crapping on it too.

Also I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the AJ thing? To me she feels like... a poseur, I guess? A tryhard? I'm not buying this crazy character from her-- and I'm a man who loves his crazy characters. In fact this may be the only crazy woman gimmick I haven't fawned over ever. Also making Kane look stupid harkening back to his late 90s run where he was basically a giant gorilla.

Anyway yeah Raw was terrible. Time to take another few week hiatus and see if it improves next time.

Bristol West and Farmers (mostly the latter, which recently bought out the former I believe) are the companies I usually find are much cheaper if you're curious and/or have checked them.

I think Geico might actually be one of the better ones if you're going Full Coverage though so that might be why it worked out for you and doesn't work out for most people I talk to who just get the bare minimum.
