Also none of the characters from the first set are very bad. Second set has a few stinkers.

This is pretty good.

In the running for bottom 1 for me. I am sure there are other boring tracks that I forget because people don't rave about how good they are but like every other town track (where the boring tracks usually are in FF soundtracks) I can recall from FFX I actually like at some level.

Most overrated song in the franchise is Besaid Island. I say this aware it only has vgm hipster cred-- it's a snoozefest that doesn't even deserve that.

Emotional maturity comes with both age and experiences. Further, if someone is at the start of their developmental years like 14 or 15 it becomes significantly more plausible that they would change a ton by 29 than if they're more formed at 19.

While, yes, Han Solo could have "seen some shit" that changed him greatly over the years, the fact we need to infer a glut of them to make Solo Solo become A New Hope Solo that means the character is poorly written/cast in Solo. That's really all there is to it. If the standard you're holding your character writing is "well, they could have changed over the years due to things that happened offscreen" then you need higher standards for your character writing.

Like if Han was 14 or 15 yeah maybe. I think the ages are supposed to be 19 and 29 and yeah I just don't agree people typically change that much in that range. They shouldn't be the exact same and I agree with that but yeah. To me it's just a crutch for lazy character writing to say "well he got older"

I mean the problem is Han isn't really that old in the original trilogy so saying "well that guy grew up to be Han" is a cop out people don't change that much between late teenage years and late 20s.

Standard feels more like the Mega Man series in general. I mean it's X but not in your face X.

I think the blue one is a better design and the armor one looks more distinctively MMX vs Mega Man in general. Depending on what you prefer to put out there buy accordingly.

This is the best "quick and dirty" watchthrough of X-Men I think. All the movies here are varying degrees of good. I'd put the last two as better than most of the MCU even.

I'd vote Tifa over a lot more than I vote Aeris though I'd vote Ramza over either one so wouldn't have mattered here.

People on the internet overrate how mainstream things on the internet are, generally. Do a random sampling of people on the street and I doubt they're swinging a lot more than 25% recognition either.

Well you're objectively correct here yet I still disagree with your disqualification, for the record. But I'll just leave it at that and look forward to the bonus match.

Imo Mr Satan is as much "The Devil" as Dark Heart or Devil from Tekken or whatever. (none of them are)

I mean it's your contest but I don't think it's necessarily a good thing to take things too seriously. Obviously Mr Satan is not "the devil" but I would enjoy seeing him in the field in a Save My Satan so I gave it a shot.

Anyway I'll have to think about nominations-- this field is pretty limited in interest to me because most demonic characters I like aren't specifically "The Devil." For instance I love Supernatural but Lucifer on that show was a drag for me. Crowley on the other hand, great character.

triple Mr Satan

Winter Soldier is probably my second favorite MCU movie, and I agree with pretty much all the beaming praise you had for it. This is almost as much a Black Widow movie for me as a Captain America one as to me this is really the movie where her character peaks in that franchise, and it's another one where you really don't need any of the previous movies to follow what's going on. It's a sequel but yeah, easy to understand in a vacuum-- the Bucky twist is really the only thing you lose by not watching any of the lead in movies, but again it's not like you'll be lost because the movie does a good job on letting you into the idea that Cap knows this guy without dwelling on it a lot.

One thing you didn't mention that I absolutely adore is the soundtrack. Soundtrack is a thing that the MCU tends to be lacking in-- there's the Avengers Theme with 5 million variations, and that's like it for the most part. This movie the Winter Soldier theme totally kills it, along with the haunting shrieking effect with it-- really adds to his killing machine aura.

Every character in FFXIII is kinda polarizing aside from Sazh (who doesn't get as much passion from the people who actually like FFXIII, as you said) and that includes Fang who is basically just diet Lightning with tattoos that doesn't do ads modeling high end purses.

Fang isn't really a fan favorite around here. She was just a beneficiary of the format. I bet Lightning Sazh and Vanille would all do better in a final situation.
