From: Nogoodnamesnow | #350 ^ He also hinted on twitter that Homestuck may be done by this time next year, but on the other hand this is Andrew Hussie we're talking about. The guy who thought Homestuck would last a year, Hivebent would last 2 weeks, and Act 5 would be the size of a normal act. It could easily take longer than he expects.
Yeah this. Do we even know how many sub-acts Act 6 is supposed to have? They've been getting longer and this one alone was almost as big as Act 4.
also the flash should hit any day now, guys any day now any day
I don't know what you mean by "passive." If you mean ambient-ish, then certainly not, at least not compared to Vol. 8. If you mean in quality density....then not really, either. There's enough REALLY good tracks to make a decently sized album on par in terms of size and quality with Vol 6 and 7.
IMO Vol 9 is the best Homestuck album. It's got a lot of awesome tracks and the filler is at least decent for the most part.
Nah, the wait is aggravating but we've already had a ton of content get posted in comparison. Cascade was two months of NOTHING besides those three teaser panels. Now the next puase, that's the one that might be longer.
We shouldn't have that much longer to wait, either. Dirk: Synchronize/Unite took him a week, so if the next flash is something on that scale we should be seeing it Wednesday/Thursday at the earliest. At least, I hope so.
From: tereziWright | #314 Isn't Squiddle Song done by the Prospit and Derse Guy?
Squiddle Song was one of the ColoUrs and Mayhem B tracks, so nah. And THE Squiddle song (Squiddles!) was done by Alexander Rosetti aka the Horsechestra guy.
Although there was a whole damn squiddles album so I'm sure a lot of people on the music team have done one or two.
Bowman's vocals are something of an acquired taste and definitely not for everyone, but he's definitely not bad as a musician. I mean, we're talking about the guy who did Sburban Jungle, here. And hey, the actual music on Mobius Trip is great and that's part of why it's so good!
(also if you thought Beta Version was awful then maybe you just have problems. That one doesn't even have any vocals!)
From: Takfloyd_mkII__ | #305 Let's just hope none of the solo albums are vocal ones. Vocal Homestuck songs that try to be serious are all horrible without exception. So cheesy.
My opinions about Mobius Trip aside, you can't possibly have forgotten about acapella Midnight Crew.
As for Malcom Brown's songs: http://stonefyr.webs.com/comprehensivelist.html I'm rooting for Pumpkin Party, or Encore I guess, but I suppose Lifdoff is another possibility. Everything else has either been used, is a troll or exile song (though I guess Nightmare could fit uu?), or is Hussie Hunt.
New song would be good too, although kind of weird this soon after an album release unless it's something big. Still, Malcom Brown makes good s***.
From: tereziWright | #301 Of course the update wouldn't be soon, SDCC ended YESTERDAY.
Though secretly making a flash while signing books would be....hm.
Anyways, new voting day.
He actually did this once, but on a much smaller scale. He went away to a convention and when he came back he posted Jade: Wake Up (the Let the Squiddles Sleep flash).
August will be SOLO ALBUM MONTH. There will be some good solo albums released throughout that month. Mark that on your calendar. Just write YEAH! across the entire August grid, that should do it.
The only thing I'm disappointed/surprised about is that the volcano exploding/dragon didn't amount to anything. I guess the flash is going to be centered around uu/UU, which I guess makes sense since we left them on a cliffhanger.
Or maybe the Acts and Intermissions are going to start bleeding over even more.
Another reddit question gathering post if you want to ask Andrew something. It's not like a lot of the questions being asked there currently are all that good, anyways!
"Why did Jade leave Derse behind when she took all the other planets from her Incipisphere with her? It probably wasn't uninhabited, and the Scratch would kill all the Dersites she left. Does she know this?"
oh man the "Jade committed genocide" thing again
I kind of want Hussie to answer it though, so people will shut up about it.
WHAT IF, after the meteor and ship arrive, when Jane dies or does the lifey thing or whatever, they bring her to her Quest Crypt so she can go God Tier? Now what if Jake is also there at the same time? There's a ton of things that could lead to this (e.g. what if Jake dies for real but Jane can save him by using her own Life force) but it's not really important.
Now, WHAT IF:
At the same time, Dave takes Dirk and Roxy back in time back to when Derse got consumed by the Red Miles, and has them stand on their Quest Crypts so that they were already there when Derse was destroyed? I actually think this is how they'll end up going God Tier if at all. It's very "Homestuck"-y.
Imagine if this happened all in one flash. What song would be appropriate for those situation? http://homestuck.bandcamp.com/track/chain-of-prospit The lyrics, they are too perfect. "You got a reason to live""no one knows it better than you" (the Maid of Life)REVERSAL
and yet there is no way it will happen now just because I've said it
From: profDEADPOOL | #180 BATMAN, INCORPORATED #5 Return to the future world seen in BATMAN #666, where Damian has taken over the mantle of the Bat! The whole world has gone mad. The only sane people left are in Arkham Asylum where Batman is the warden! Oh holy %$#^ yes.
YES
YESSSSSSSSS
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
edit: Also I like that with the new continuity this implies that Barbara gets crippled again before #666.
Archangel's Light is pretty bad but supposedly it's so awful because the original effect it had was gamebreaking and they didn't have enough time to created a balanced version of it, so they nerfed it into unplayability.
Terraform is one of the few good songs on Vol 8 so I'll toss it a bone I guess. Seriously I just listened to Vol 8 to find songs and not much is on there. Vol 9's quantity:quality ratio is so much better it's almost funny. I'm just even less familiar with Vol 9 than I am with the other albums.
+5 Havoc +4 Frostbite +3 Calamity +2 An Unbreakable Union +1 Terraform
also a +4 to frostbite in place of a new song because it's too good for a +1 imo
Just split Cascade and put in all the joke songs that haven't gotten in yet as low seeds to pad out the bracket. Also, the entirety of I'm Having a Baby (And the Baby Is You) as 16-seeds.
Or just extend noms, really there's already too much good stuff in that list to not do 128 at this point. Plus I bet I can find five good songs that aren't on the list yet.
+5 Anbroids 2.0 +4 Bustin Makes Me Feel Good +3 Ugly Betty +2 The Beginning of Something Really Excellent +1 Swing of the Clock
From: whatisurnameplz | #002 It can still be a good message. You could say that by making clones, man is insulting nature.
So? A lot of things man does can be taken as "insults to nature." Oh man, why do we build houses and wear clothes and stuff? Nature didn't plan for that!
Plus, then you have to get into the argument of "why should we care if things are natural or not?" Nature isn't "good" or "just," and by no means should it be taken for what is right or wrong. There's plenty of awful things that happen in nature. See: rape and infanticide in many mammalian species.
But uh...anyways...on topic (Pokemanz): the Japanese version actually does sound more interesting, portraying Mewtwo as more sympathetic. Whether that's the end message though would depend on what happens after that. Obviously in the American version they make up in the end. If the Japanese version was Mew going "Hey! You should all die!" and then Mewtwo goes "okay" and flies away with his clone army, then there might be a problem.
Also random thought I had: maybe Cascade should be broken up into its four songs? It could make the contest more interesting, since Cascade might just completely stomp over whatever it faces.
$100? Holy crap. Hope you have $600 for the whole series! Or just $240 to get the Evil Ex edition of each book. And I gotta say, that Matthew Patel cover? Pretty snazzy.
Yeah he's a new guy who is getting his origin in Green Lantern #0. He also appeared in the Trinity War free comic book day issue, fighting against the Justice League. In his official art he had a gun. Just...a normal gun, in addition to the power ring. Who knows what the hell is up with this guy.
A few weeks ago, Ryan North (writer of Dinosaur Comics and Hussie's bff and soulmate) wrote stuff on twitter about how he lost his credit card and was tracking a person's purchases who had picked it up. Hussie commented that it seems like a good way to keep track of a random stranger's life. Ryan then suggested they trade credit cards and finance each others' decadent lifestyles for a month.
Funny joke, then Hussie tweeted this a week ago:
and now we have the perfect thing to tide us over during hiatustuck
From: azuarc | #017 Am I the only one who was ok with the size of the cast from the original? Playing the sequels, I just felt overwhelmed at the character select screen. Plus, I felt like they were just trying too damn hard to include characters for the sake of including characters. Like...Mr. Game and Watch? Seriously?
What? G&W is awesome. Flip bacon all day every day. I bet you hate R.O.B. too.
I wouldn't mind a same size or only slightly increased roster as long as it's not literally the same characters that were in Brawl. Some of them need to go for new guys, and all the clones need to either be dropped or drastically reworked.
I love how "death only by supers" is such a dumb mechanic that every single time it's brought up, people go "what, really?" and refuse to believe it.
I mean it was hard to believe when it was first announced, but then it was confirmed again at E3, and now again by Seth Killian. Same reaction every time.
