Best thing Pence can do is constantly undermine Donald's recollection of his experience ("I was also in the room when *insert decision* was made, and that is not how anyone there remembers it"), play super hard for the Christian vote, remind people no Vice President ever broke more tie-breakers in favor of the President's policies than him in our lifetimes, and play the victim of toxic workplaces with a terrible boss...preferably Stone Cold Steve Austin-style, but if not that then at least as somebody finally willing to speak up against wrong behavior is ways Americans can relate to toxic bosses. I feel like he's been biting his lip waiting for this large of an audience to say something more noteworthy anyway, but maybe he really is that passive.

Pence won't win, and he won't get close...but if he ran as a spoiler candidate afterward, those are his best ploys to longterm-hurt Donald's chances of reelection. Hurt Donald's credibility now, steal his Jesus-votes, prove with actions he was MAGA in tight times, and relate to those bullied at work.

I don't see BotW being replaced, now or probably ever. BotW may or may not be outdone by TotK, but BotW is AT LEAST in the top three LoZ-games as of before TotK's release and BotW is the only other LoZ-game I've ever seen land #1 on a site's top-games list besides OoT (GQ's top 100 recently). That argument is a little too LMS'y by itself for my tastes, but can you name another LoZ-game that's ever done that? People very much love BotW.

BotW was also a launch game for Nintendo's most successful system since the Super Nintendo or Nintendo DS, and it is hard to just replace a giant launch game by Nintendo in voters' minds. SMW and SM64 are likely our two strongest Mario games. LoZ:TP would also hold up against or beat most other Nintendo games, with only OoT or BotW being likely to SFF it much. TP doesn't do that well on LoZ-series polls...but it's been able to beat SMG1 and MP1 with LoZ:WW in the mix during a Game of the Century-poll, it was able to beat RE4 with SSBB in the same poll before, and its biggest loss came from fellow Nintendo launch game SM64. LoZ:TP is no lightweight.

Melee's close enough to a launch game to count for this in my mind, and it could still win or be competitive against other Smash-games (it did lose to Brawl to be fair but it was close).

Granted, Super Mario Bros. 1 is a launch game that got SFF'd...partly because of another launch game in SMW, partly because the even bigger NES-Mario game was in the same poll:

Wii Sports was destroyed by LoZ:MM, but MM went on to win the contest and I don't see another WS game beating the original WS which is more of the main point here. Also, like Duck Hunt, WS wasn't THE launch game -- not for the GameFAQs audience anyway.

All that is to say...if you were loved and well-received at launch, it's going to take huge and unlikely circumstances to replace you in voters' hearts. People bought a console immediately expecting to play you, and games like what I mentioned usually met or exceeded those expectations for people through-out the console's lifespan.

You could start the debut movie trailer with a shot or two of this, yes, and include Baby Mario too while you're at it...then fade the camera away from the in-movie TV screen and reveal the F-Zero world around it.

Show our protagonist uncomfortably watching this wee-baby-go-kart-racing with mushrooms and banana peels and little creatures on clouds that place you back on the track. He stares much like Gene Takovic watching Saul Goodman -- but in color and surrounded in a black shadow.

He smirks.

He changes the channel like a goddamned man. Breaking news appears after a few game-specific Easter eggs appear on the other channels.

We learn Mute City is in danger. The words don't matter -- all that matters is the looming threat. You can feel it, and so does the captain.

Shotgun Kiss begins. The shot zooms in on him a few seconds before cutting in much closer to his face -- no, closer than that, extreme close-up.

His triangles squint.

"Show your moves, Falcon."

Shotgun Kiss kicks in as a montage begins -- Captain Falcon is punching face and kicking ass as both a bounty hunter and a driver. We catch a glimpse of him spiking in a game of beach volleyball. Fans immediately demand Beach Volleyball Falcon to be a costume in the next Smash game.

The trailer intensifies as we reach the end. Black Shadow reaches out of his moving vehicle and breaks through the glass of the Blue Falcon mid-race and slings his whole vehicle by Captain Falcon's helmet.

"Show your moves, Falcon!" This time the callback is mockingly said to our protagonist. That damage sound that comes from vehicles having low health blares faster and faster until a sudden white flash and then a blackout.

That's upsetting and disappointing.

I used to watch them a lot for...maybe a year, maybe two years. Over time they revealed weak points to their arguments and leadership. John Iadarola and Ben Mankiewicz still have generally-good impressions with me (someone fill me in please if I missed something bad with them), and there are certain qualities I like about some of the others there...but overall I've grown not to trust them much. Every few months I'll check their take on a big event or see if something other media's not touched on yet, and every now and then I'll think of how they nearly got into a fist-fight with Alex Jones and Roger Stone before I smirk immaturely...but ultimately, I don't give them much time at all anymore.

Still disappointing to hear their trans-take on this here. =/

Crow owns the home that Thomas's mother is still living in. Crow had bought it from them and said he wanted to turn it into a museum as a historic location. He then went on to renovate it...which, I mean, historic spots get renovated, but not always when the original owner is still in them and renovations don't always include carports.

IN ADDITION, the neighbors had been known for noisy parties...so Crow bought their house too, and then tore it down.

I don't understand why Ron dropped three points when going head to head in that.

Ron does get some benefit of the doubt in that things can change after official announcements are made, which Ron hasn't done yet. Also though, I just keep thinking of a report a few months ago suggesting Ron just doesn't want to face off against Donald. If he can't improve those numbers and that report was true, he may as well stay out.

And yeah my more sincere thought is that the Mario movie's impact for a hypothetical contest here is much less about reaching new users here and more about giving a new and exciting association with a lifelong brand. I dunno that it will do much, but it's a new huge thing and a unique ace in the sleeve that nobody else in the Noble Nine has to this scale (settle down, Advent Children fans).

I would still bet on Zelda > Mario though after the last contest and knowing TotK is about to release. Same for Cloud post-FF7R. I'm unsure if the Mario movie will matter for Mario here more than MD for Samus -- these are all GotY-winners and contenders, so who knows with any of those characters we last knew were very close to Mario.

All bets are off if Chrono Trigger gets a blockbuster movie.

The Mario movie-boost is about to increase that Mario-association up from its mere 97.92% and go allllll the way up to at least 98.002%.

Regarding Tennessee: Gloria is a keeper and I'm glad she survived expulsion, albeit by one vote.

It's incredibly stupid for the state to have even tried though, and they did expel the other two people -- a true shame and a waste of time distracting from the recent school shooting. Keep in mind Florida a month ago tried to dissolve the Democratic party from that state in one of the proposed bills. Now that Tennessee has successfully expelled two Democratic members, people need to recognize that this is on the national menu for Republicans. Other states should beware.

Democrats are still at plenty of times hung up on reaching across the aisle, and we are in an era where the other side of the aisle often wants this side of the aisle gone.

It's not that bipartisanship can't exist, but it can't lead or even survive when one side of a two-party system generally doesn't want it.

I don't know national comparisons, but I know growing up there were men's and women's leagues for basketball/baseball/tennis at all points of school where they were offered (I think fourth grade and up). This also went for the teams played against. Football has a girl practice on the high school team in the off-season, but I don't think she ever played an actual game.

That's just the school-endorsed teams of the biggest sports. If you're talking more like playground-games or PE class, yeah, people were playing together regardless of gender. Not sure about school-endorsed teams for smaller sports.

Here's an insane story going completely under the radar right now: the TN house is trying to expel 3 Democrats for supporting gun control. The justification is that they disobeyed house rules and spoke out of turn...so yeah, let's just completely purge these elected officials from office. About as fascist of a move as it gets.

WW was my second-favorite LoZ game at its time of release (nostalgia for the OG of the series is strong). LBW and BotW have surpassed both of them for me since then too.

Fourth place in an all-time great series twenty years after its original release ain't a bad place to be. I dunno that the series ever topped how cool it was to visit and bring color to Hyrule.

Yeah, DS version was probably cool right when the DS first released, but realistically trying to compare it with the N64 version hurts my soul so much. I recently replayed the N64 version and I know it's not as good as I remember anymore, but it's still just leagues better for feeling good when moving. That's a hard hurdle to overcome in this comparison.

MM4 is the best MM game on the NES and is only bested by MM9 within the entire series.

The series needs more secret powers like MM4 had. MM5 with earning Beat was an excellent addition.

MM3 had great ideas but the sloppiest design besides probably MM1.

If Mega Man was being more properly utilized, introducing Bad Box-Art Mega Man like they did in Street Fighter x Tekken would be more fun and welcome.

MM9 is the only game in the series that handles using your boss-earned powers well. Most other games, I would rather not deal with the menu and stick to the M. Buster unless otherwise required.

MMX1 was legit but otherwise I don't really need the MMX games.

Protoman > Zero.

This is less of a hot take and more of an idea, but MM11's soundtrack was among the dullest of the series and I wish they would hire Danny Baronowsky for the next one.

I was all for another Super Meat Boy-branded game. It was my game if the decade.

I wanted a sequel. Is SMBF really that? It never looked like one mechanically anyway, to the point of disinterest.

DFMMM holds my attention much more than SMBF, but also I would feel a lot better about it if it was following SMB and not SMBF. A true sequel would have been appropriate, but, fine.

Somewhere in the mix is The End Is Nigh, and that game is great. Closest to a sequel they're gonna give it, I think -- a spiritual successor.
