I decided on that Flipside 4 after all! That other wallet I thought about was longer and big in its own right, yeah, though I'm a front-pocket man and thought that would not look as lumpy since it was taller. Changed my mind though. Thanks everybody!

If Rodney King counts and that happened in 1992, then in 2015 it should be okay to take that conversation into the topic of Walter Scott's murder when it happened.

We understand we can't look twenty years into the future, but we can use twenty-year-old events to look at how we got to today and recognize today for what it is.

I use a Flipside wallet. It snaps closed with a clamshell design and can hold both cards and cash. It even has a slot on the back that can hold either coins or thin keys.

...I do like the Flipside 4 that I saw. Is it a tight limit on ten bills @StifledSilence ? I will often have less, but I'm going to break the occasional $20 bill and that turns into multiple bills fast. Is it just not recommended to do more than ten bills but mostly fine, or is it bending the clip and tearing the paper at that point?

I'm glad Dubya's episode was brought up. That was about politics, kinda, but it was more about a weak handshake. If Donald was put into an episode, I feel like it'd be more about liking his steaks well done than his policies.

Anyway, glad to hear the show's coming back with the original cast. Hopefully it's good.

Just trying to see what I'm missing out on. I got an eight-year-old wallet that's tearing apart on me -- single fold, leather, built for cash and cards but not necessarily to be found if it's lost, and still has a coin zipper because reasons I guess. You've seen its kind before.

Currently I want pocket-space back and it's going to take more than a wallet change to do that, so I figured ya'll may know something about modern wallets and how to make these work better for you.

What's good about them? What do you like about yours? Are they worth the extra money? I'm more interested in a stand-alone wallet than one built into a phone case but am open to whatever's worked for you.

This conversation for me got started on about Ekster's brands. Quick example:

Cool list! I'm wishlisting Nobody Saves the World, Triangle Strategy, Chained Echoes, and Slay the Spire.

Gorogoa is an awesome concept but I got stuck at the clocks-puzzle and haven't gone back.

Glad I'm not the only one who's got LoZ > LoZ:LttP for the 2D LoZ-games! A lot of it is familiarity, but I did recently go back to LoZ:LttP and it just doesn't scratch the same itch the same way. You also got LoZ:BotW as the best 3D LoZ-game like I do. Did you give LoZ:LBW a try?

Surprised you have the Castlevania games so far apart! I know Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin have different philosophies but they are still very similar-feeling games to me. Maybe I'm alone there though -- I also feel similarly about the Ori games.

Portal's timeless, yeah, although Portal 2 is just too polished and its world is impressively alive so I side with the sequel.

Bleed 1+2 are legit. Try 'em out people! When I had Bleed 2 as #3 in my top ten games I played in the past two years recently, I think only one person sounded like they had played the Bleed games.

I never replay Outland but I often think about it. It just worked well to combine those elements.

Aero GPX does look legit. I'll wait for it to release and see how it lands, but there's been a demand for that style to come back for a long time and a Kickstarter's appropriate to help that.

AM2R really was legit. Amazing what a fan-game could do there. It and MD are on very similar tiers for me too.

Celeste is very good, I just think the learning curve is too sharp shortly after starting the extra levels. Shorten some screens and let me ease into them a little more!

There were only two other teams that lost to Georgia by fewer points than UT, which were Missouri and Ohio State...and we were Georgia's only home game of those three games.

UT also beat Alabama.

TCU also lost by 58 points -- that's more than the 55-0 shut-out Georgia had on unranked Vanderbilt. You should never lose in the championship by that much, and if you do then you shouldn't still be #2 in the nation when fourteen other teams under less spotlight did better than you against the same #1.

UT also won its bowl game against Clemson after being snubbed from the playoffs, reconfirming who is the best of the orange teams.

What I'm trying to say is go Vols -- put us higher.

How do you define short games?

Definitions may vary!

I liked exploring some neat games recently when I asked for fun new games that could reasonably be beaten in under three hours. It's a tight timeframe for games, but that's a fun category to see too.

Whether your idea of short is three hours or not, assumed replayability or not, speed running or not...whatever definition is in your heart, what is the shortest game you would truly call great?

Elden Ring is doing great here. Is it worth it to try as someone who did not like the early minutes of Dark Souls 1? It seems cool to watch and all, but I do not like being able to be attacked while menuing and I don't deal well with games having lots of tension through fear built into their worlds (Bioshock and Resident Evil 4 are the scariest games I've beaten). Does Elden Ring go those directions?

If it help regarding open-world games, I loved Breath of the Wild and do not particularly care for Skyrim -- I just kinda screw around in Elder Scrolls games.

I'm always down for a one-on-one poll. That said, having this today really tells me it would have been nice to have a six-way poll yesterday instead of three.

I'd feel different if there were two Nintendo games in the six-way poll, however, so my stance depends on LFF potential. Guess I won't harp on yesterday's three-way poll too much in that regard...just wish we had a better read on XB3.

It was also a generation as evenly divided by three consoles as we've seen before, both in overall sales and GameFAQs fanfare when recognizing the Wii's early years VS the PS3/360's later years.

Also during a similar timeframe, handheld systems were at their strongest and cell phone games were being introduced. The DS and 3DS sold like hotcakes, the PSP (and maybe the Vita?) were the best-selling non-Nintendo handhelds, and people adopting smartphones dying those times were getting free new apps without having to pay for more. There are few examples of them getting top-tier games (LoZ:LBW barely won GotY one year and MKDS make it to a GotY-final in a weak year)...but time playing those competed with time playing the biggest console games of the era. We even saw the 3DS win a SotY-poll:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/5384-best-of-2013-system-of-the-year

The DS also made a big landing in its debut SotY-poll and competed with the Wii's later years:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/2255-best-of-2005-system-of-the-year

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/3725-best-of-2009-system-of-the-year

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/4219-best-of-2010-system-of-the-year

All this is to add that there was a lot of competition of attention during those years. It was harder for that generation's biggest games to tower over the rest. No console towered over the other consoles so much, and handhelds were making history in the meanwhile.

Also Brawl had tripping and bad online. It was so close to still being one of the site's very biggest games even today.

Xenoblade got robbed.

Inclined to agree. It had to share a poll with Bayonetta 3, Splatoon 3, and two Pokemon games. Nintendo overall got 43.39% in that poll with XB3 having the plurality at 16.3%. There's a lot of room to play against GoW:R's 33.05%. Could XB3 get 17.75% more than GoW:R (in the context of this still being a multi way poll) out of Nintendo's remaining 27.09%?

We've also seen Xenoblade improve with less competition and removal of Nintendo games in a three-way GotY poll before:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/4958-best-of-2012-best-role-playing-game-japanese

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/4960-best-of-2012-game-of-the-year

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/4961-best-of-2012-game-of-the-year-final

I think GoW:R still takes it, but there's space for XB3-fans to feel wrongfully snubbed. It may or may not have been robbed of second place, but it was robbed of a fair chance.

I just don't know another game that controls like Snake Pass. It feels so neat to move in that game, unless you're going in a straight line forward. Some of the later levels get too long and the story is SLIGHT, but it's like a slithery Banjo-Kazooie.

LAL might have a leg up because to most voters it's a remake in name only and may avoid the penalty associated with that. We never really got a reasonable chance to play the original.

I agree. It seems more like a new game people didn't a chance to try before, even when compared to a PSP game.
