I was gonna say Grade 6s are free and there is no reason NOT to slot them into filler gear once you can but then I remembered it actually does cost gil to do that if you don't have crafters leveled. Whoops!

i'd be less worried about the gil cost and more the time cost of constantly slotting them in and out of gear that you change in 2 levels anyway. for almost no benefit.

Eh. A hunt train also takes 15 minutes (or less at peak times!), gets more tomes in that time (plus materia) and carries infinitely lower risk of getting stuck with an awful teammate who slows that time down to 20+ minutes. You do need to be willing to log on when you get the ping that it's happening though.

Oh. I thought it was just because spell speed doesn't affect your melee combo, so you'd rather have stats that affect all your skills, not just the magic ones.

My gear level is like 249 now because I bought some side gear from the market board that wasn't gonna be covered by the Shire set. Instantly gained 5k HP and over 60 gear score just like that from accessories.

Well. Everything gets covered by the Shire set, are you sure you didn't just miss the tab selling accessories? You buy the weapon from a different menu too.

Even though there is level syncing, there isn't realy gear level syncing in the same way.

That Alexander fight (on normal) was meant to be done at level 60 but gear level around 170. So it syncs you to level 60, but to gear level 270. (because 270 was the gear cap for that whole expansion) So it's a breeze right now.

The second set of Alexander fights were meant to be done around 200 and the third set meant to be done around 230. So the third set will be *closer* to a challenge.

It's similar to how Labyrinth of the Ancients is a breeze, Syrcus Tower is still sort of easy, but World of Darkness poses a *bit* of a challenge. For the same reason.

Also, level syncing in general seems to scale the further down you go, so you still end more powerful than a lv60 would've been back then. Not sure why.

Without knowing how it worked, I think a better fix would be to make it so you can't fish for stuff. You get the card you get and you have to decide the best way to use it.

The issue with this, presumably, is that if you get bad RNG you'll just get lower damage contribution overall 'cause you didn't get the best card. But meh, the variance should even out...

I did hit lv80 after Sleeve Draw got reworked, which made me sad since I liked the idea of chain-firing off cards. Would've been fun to do, but I get why they felt it was too dextrously complex.

Anyone still complaining about the card rework is just whining to whine imo. You only ever wanted to play the Balance anyway, so making every card have the effect of the Balance was the objectively correct change to make.

That was kind of my impression as well from hearing how they used to work. The current system doesn't have tons of depth but whatever, if it was more complex I wouldn't be able to handle it while also doing mechanics.

I've sensed that a lot of previous Astro mains are upset about the way cards were changed. As someone who only picked it up in SHB, I don't have that letdown, and I've found myself enjoying it as a job maybe more than the other two. The 1.5 cast time on your damage spell combined with the surplus of powerful OGCDs just feels really smooth to play.

Making a second character is actively detrimental, since you'd basically have to re-do the entire main quest, unlock everything a second time, etc. You're meant to use only one, really. The only different quests are the ones for the starting cities - there's nothing unique to race.

Oh yeah I've def been doing those, except for the subjob ones. I know I have to hit 30 in Thuma before unlocking Black Mage and subsequent White Mage, and I don't think I have a reason to do any of the other class starting quests or all these dozens of level 1-3 quests in the new area.

I mean more if I should be doing those green circle quests where you activate it yourself (forgot the name, Leves?) or if I should be queuing for stuff.

thaumaturge is to black mage what conjurer is to white mage. so you have to unlock conjurer to get white mage. which is done in gridania.

I got 13 strawberries, only noticed 2 that I missed.

First one was right at the end of level 1, and as I was trying to just do the area for the first time I accidentally ran to the end and slid through to level 2, and then couldn't go back.

The other one is the one that... I think you need two springs to get to? Drop one down, then bring in a second one? So I missed it because can't go back up to get the first spring.

Unless you really can do it with only one.

Well if we're using that sort of definition of 'fan', then I'm not a 'fan' of anything except maybe Star Trek.

There are many franchises I love. There is no 'fandom' that I would ever want to be remotely associated with.

It's not so much the fandom as much as how many characters are too stupid for me to want to associate with, and the juvenile sense of humour/fanservice stuff.

Also Pokemon. I've played a decent number of them but they were never my favourites. I dunno, I prefer JRPGs with a) multiple party members and more than 4 skills at a time and just generally b) RPGs with more story and character development. I prefer humans to creatures. Though they are cute.

I don't see anywhere in the question where it says that isn't allowed. You say it's "clearly" not allowed, but it apparently isn't that clear to the majority of people who voted. While I will admit that 10 is probably the answer the question is looking for, I don't see anything in the problem itself that implicates that it can't be 9. I mean sure an argument could be made for her just cutting each ribbon into long slices thus using less than 9. However, I see that differently than answering 9 because that isn't something that people would logically think of, whereas the way to get 9 is.

Because the whole point of a question like this is that there's a trick to it.

People getting it wrong ("it wasn't clear to the majority") is a sign that the trick question was working as intended. The writer of the question intended for 9 to be wrong and 10 to be right. This becomes clear to us after we learn the trick.

It just feels like you got the wrong answer, said "any adult could solve this" and were embarrassed, hence trying to argue that it's ambiguous.

And just going by common sense, any person who wants ribbons of a certain length is probably just going to cut one full-piece ribbon of that length, not cut some smaller ones and stitch them together. That's what makes the trick work - You feel dumb for not realizing this if you just do the basic math. I did too.

That's certainly a valid argument, but I will counter with the fact that Full Throttle isn't a stranger to posting math problems that have issues of their own. Really it could be either or depending on what you mentioned. This certainly isn't the first Full Throttle math problem that could have multiple right answers.

No. This one's pretty clearcut. 9 isn't a valid answer. Stitching together threads is clearly not allowed.
