Its much larger than it needs to be ("empty stuff"), which makes it take over an hour of game time to run across the town because there's so much needless space to cover. When combined with the unevenly opened and often very early closing stores it quickly becomes a hassle in time management. Example: There's a powerful daily event in the very northeastern corner of town that's only available between 1pm and 4pm, but you can't talk to or gift the character involved in that event during that time, and getting FP with that character is the only way to access a set of unique and valuable items in fall. Since it takes you over an hour to reach this spot, you're effectively trying to get there at 12:50 or 3:50 every day so you can do both at the same time.
