But yeah Stormblood isn't bad at all. People just generally don't think the story is as good as Heavensward or Shadowbringers. Especially the Ala Mhigo stuff and anything to do with Lyse. The stuff on Othard is generally more well liked.

I think if I had to think of my biggest gripe with Stormblood, it's the trial fights. That itself is not a spoiler, but who they are definitely is.

Not to say they're all bad, but I think the AWESOME to "Meh" ratio is about 50-50 for me. See if you can guess which ones belong wherever when you're through it :p

Also not a spoiler: dont ditch the Aether Compass. You will need it in Shadowbringers, and very likely will need it in Endwalker also.

i'm pretty sure if you go back to western coerthas the guy will give you a new one, but yeah no reason to ditch it and go through that effort

I overall liked Stormblood's story, but it definitely goes through ups and downs.

I haven't gone through fanbase reactions extensively, but I have to imagine that Lyse is the part that people were most universally disappointed in.

Really enjoying the ARR story, even though most people have said it'd be a slog. The world building has been hella enjoyable and I've enjoyed the combat on both M+K and Gamepad.

Can see me playing this for a LONG time tbh

How can you stand doing Expert recipes so much? I hate them so much, and I'm not even someone who used macros when I craft!

As someone who does uses macros when they craft, Expert recipes are pretty fun. What is not fun is the sheer amount of them you have to do to get top 12 or max every tool, so miss me with that.

I dunno, the expert recipes are fun to me. They're kind of like a puzzle game, gotta figure out what the best play is for each move.

I will say though, after doing every tool, I'm very done with them.

Yes, there will be, though the game throws Poetics at you like candy so if you want to buy the Heavensward ones now it's not the end of the world.

What accs do you have? The 270 stuff is dramatically better than normal quality vendor crap and will last you at least until 65.

Unless you are hungry for alt jobs gear I'd say go ahead and grab them. You should be at the point where you have plenty of roulettes to grab poetics from so as others say the game should be throwing them at you.

I fit all the relevant single-target moves on 1.5 hotbars.

I'm including all abilities (though I don't think any seem totally useless?) plus sprint, teleport, return, and a mount (not the end of the world if those are on another hotbar, but it's annoying since you use them all of the time outside of instances).

I have one hotbar set to weapon sheathed only, which is where I put all that stuff.

This reminds me...no idea what Limit Break is. The bar is always full at the end of every dungeon, pretty much. I have a Linite Break button I've tried hitting but it doesn't do anything even when the bar is yellow.

You play a caster, right? On caster it makes a targeting reticule on the floor you have to select to confirm before it will cast. No idea how that works on controller!

Once you figure it out, I recommend using it in higher level dungeons on big pulls with lots of mobs to hit.

According to the player side of things, one GM decided to go on a personal crusade a couple days ago and started mass-warning / banning people for having their RP venues advertised, even ones that weren't illicit, since he claimed that "party finder is meant to do content," which has no basis in any rules available to the public. As a result, Party Finder just went more wild, calling this GM out in numerous funny ways while claiming to be party-findering for Sastasha.

As far as I understand it, somebody reported 3 groups on Party Finder to a GM for advertising openly erotic RP, and also real money trading. The GM then proceeded to issue strikes (which are permanent) to EVERY person using Party Finder for RP venues regardless of content, and one guy who just wanted a fishing buddy. Meanwhile the real money stuff was entirely untouched because it was out of their power apparently. So the community is up in arms and has been protesting.

Apparently the rogue GM in question has been reported and is under review.

I really wish stat priorities for RDM and BLM weren't so different (or better yet that you could switch between multiple sets of melds on the same piece of gear)

Realistically I should meld for RDM since I actually use that more nowadays, but I keep pretending BLM is still my main and end up playing RDM with way too much SpS (I don't do current savages so it's not hugely problematic, but definitely not ideal).

You might think so, but no. RDM wants to hit between 40 and 60 of each mana every time Manfication comes off cooldown, and it just so happens that with no spell speed from gear that happens naturally if you keep your GCD rolling. If you go faster then you end up with either too much mana, or too little (because your mana built up such that you had to do an extra combo between Manafications).

Also BOY can I not wait until everything stops synching to 50 and 60 because there are a hell of a lot of times I wish I had this Veraise.

lol just wait until you get in a party with someone who gets very mad at you for not raising, and insists that you please cast verraise on the lv60 healer immediately

The class I always forget has a raise is SMN

Guess that goes along with my complete confusion about how to play the class in the first place!

It also doesn't affect your ogcds which are a large portion of RDM damage, so it's pretty trash
