Saying that the school will seek diversity in staffing in the future pretty much clinches that this is what your are telling me. While this is a possibility ( that someone thought this was cute and thought he/she could get away with it) I am still waiting to hear the teacher's side of the story.

Blackface specifically refers to imitating black people and it is this imitation which I find offensive. I am still waiting to hear from the teacher.

Yeah, uh, blackface is not racially sensitive. This fiasco could, at a stretch, have maybe been a case of well-intended but extremely ignorant; but that's the nicest possible outcome here. Even that outcome is grounds for, at the very least, taking that teacher out of their current role for better training on these kind of issues.

And, realistically speaking, it's more likely that it wasn't so well-intentioned. I'm not going to outright assume "there is no possible way this teacher didn't know", but I'll certianly say that it's extremely unlikely that they didn't.

I am not omniscient like you. This is my answer. I need to hear from the other parents and the teacher involved.

NO, just no. Try to distinguish between issues and people. Everyone racist or not is on the same side. We all want the same thing. We have never gotten democracy in over 200 years because we fail this.

If that was a "blackface" exercise then it was racist no matter what teacher's intentions. However, we have not heard the teacher's side of the story.

Let me point out that a popular North Shore high school teacher was fired for having students read a pro-Palestian graphic novel which is critically acclaimed. It turned out that a minority of parents were hot and bothered and that most parents were on the fence and more parents were in support than against.

The event in question could be racist but it could also be racially sensitive and the complaining parent is a virulent racist.

I should be more precise. Chicago segregates by having neighborhood post offices. Each post office gets so many mail clerks, so many mail handlers, so many mail carriers.

My neighborhood has houses built in back yards and side yards, has floors added, has converted garages and most apartments have subdivided into front and rear.

I suspect that my neighborhood post office does not get more staff as the population increases.

The grocery delivery with coffee was at my door. So I can manage.

For me it has been all of my non letters in the last 2 weeks. The post office needs to give a heads-up to people who do not do the route regularly.

There is a local issue responsible for misdelivery. The entire south section of Chicago has numbered streets that are first streets and then places.

23rd st, 23rd pl and so on. However in my neighborhood the addresses are along streets and places whereas in newer areas the lots were divided along north-south arteries. The upshot of this is that only in a small part of Chicago do you have to deliver to 1905 W. 23rd Place and have to distinguish from 1905 W. 23rd Street.

They also misdelivered my bank checks.

For the last month USPS has been saying tracked mail has been delivered and my box will be empty. I made an online inquiry about 2 pounds of coffee because usps said a slip was in my box for instructions and no such slip was delivered. The coffee would fit in my mailbox.

I just checked the tracking and USPS returned the coffee to sender as undeliverable address.

There are pipes jutting out the walls in random places. Lots of weird design decisions. Clashing details They may sell in the upper $700,000 to lower $800,000 range. It is not bright sunlight though. It is the sun, low in the sky, shining directly in your eye. Dimming the light means not being able to see.

As awesome as this patent is ... it just darkens the glasses and is what we have in our prescription glasses now.

I am looking for an upgrade where the glass is darkened more between my eyeball and the sun so that I am not blinded by the sun but I can see everything else.

We have the technology to design and manufacture these smart glasses but is anyone working on it?
