I should be more precise. Chicago segregates by having neighborhood post offices. Each post office gets so many mail clerks, so many mail handlers, so many mail carriers.

My neighborhood has houses built in back yards and side yards, has floors added, has converted garages and most apartments have subdivided into front and rear.

I suspect that my neighborhood post office does not get more staff as the population increases.
