What does "rebooting" actually mean in a context like this?

Would the first post-reboot Wolverine comic reintroduce Wolverine's origin and fundamental character traits/history, or would it assume fans already know that stuff despite a reboot?

I wonder if I'd have a much easier time with this game after putting so much time in bloodborne.

- Make Fi less intrusive
- Less exposition telling the player what to do, more "let the player figure it out for themselves"
- Get rid of SOME motion controls (swimming, bomb rolling, and flying can go)
- Get rid of the second Imprisoned fight (the third is different enough to keep, but there's no need for three total)
- New boss for the Fire Sanctuary rather than an old boss recycled
- Change or get rid of the flooded forest section near the end

I love Skyward Sword, but there are so many flaws that, if addressed, could result in a true masterpiece of a game imo.

He's a really skilled gamer. I've watched him stream before and I respect his methodical approach to gaming. It's also awesome that he's possibly put in more gaming hours than anyone else here while still having the discipline/management skills to work towards a good education and job. He's holding it down.

But it does feel uncomfortable when he, at times, almost delights in being mean to people - like just a few days ago when he told Pun he threw away GameStop game merch Pun sent his away.

Whoa, whoa. Man, there are some things about this area that are beautiful - the mountains, the puget sound, the fact that we built our cities inside temperate rainforests that tower over everything - but Hawaii is on another level.

Probably true, but it was a crystal clear day on December 23rd, and we took a ferry with Mount Rainier in clear view - that was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. We took a hundred pics and none of them did it the faintest bit of justice.

Also, I get the feelings that most bigger cities have a fairly active nerd culture these days. Nerd culture has been mainstream for at least the past five years.

I spent this Christmas with in-laws in Tacoma. The Seattle/Tacoma area is the only place I've seen in the country with natural beauty that might rival Hawaii. It's also bound to have a young/hip/nerd culture - not as much as Seattle itself, but it's the neighboring city so you wouldn't be far from all the big city stuff. Pretty sure Tacoma is a lot more affordable than Seattle, too.

Vegas has some of the world's best entertainment, good food, no humidity, little rain, good cost of living, decent number of outdoor activities, and a surprisingly large and active nerd culture. It's also a short drive from SoCal without SoCal's insane cost of living.

But more than half the city is ghetto, so you'll need to concentrate on the nicer areas to live in. It's a city that doesn't value education (NV is the least educated state behind Mississippi, I think), and the only university here is a bit of a joke outside a small handful of good majors.

There are many different degrees of "homophobia."

My gf, for example, is a practicing Catholic and more or less "isn't sure" if she believes in gay marriage, but she's never spoken insultingly towards gay people or homosexuality. So it's not something we ever fight about even if I may be more progressive on the issue.

Now if someone was like "burn the gays," yeah that wouldn't work.

I've only REALLY played the Marios and OoT from that list (barely touched Sonic), so from my limited perspective:

SMW => OoT > Mario 1/3

The NES Marios are not easy games. You can try them for history's sake but you may just shelve them out of sheer frustration. SMW is just as iconic and much funner, imo. Its controls are more forgiving, and it offers funner ways of running Mario through levels (the cape and Yoshi, primarily). I don't think I've seen a single person argue that SMW has aged poorly.

OoT's controls are probably dated at this point, but I don't think they'd be much of an inhibitor. The level design is still solid and the soundtrack is incredible. And it's the one game that has most dominated the "best ever" discussions for the last 20 years, so you are missing a piece of gaming history by not playing it. If you enjoy it, you'll probably want to jump into MM immediately after like transience did last year.

Of all the other games, fuck if I know but probably GTAV. It's been a top selling game for five straight years - don't think any other game in history has managed anything like that.

Wow, NFL coaches tend to look so damn old that I'm surprised to learn they retire rather young. Guess the insane stress of the job piles years onto their faces. Belichick is 65 and already the second oldest coach in the league (Pete Carroll is a few months older).

https://www.oldest.org/sports/coaches-in-nfl/

According to that article, only four coaches in league history have coached into their 70s, and none have been older than 72. So yeah, can't expect him to go too much longer.

Yeah, I think it's very fair to look at them as a packaged deal. I mean, they've been together in NE for 17 years. Has there EVER been a player-coach relationship that long?
